Got food poisoning from this place. This was during their pay what you want phase. Waiters were snotty and acted like they were better than you. Nope. Heard they were closing down. Can’t happen soon enough.

I haven’t been here since I moved from Montclair over 2 years ago, but I’m sitting here reviewing local JC burger joints and The One popped into my head. It is a memorable burger. From what I remember of the place, it has no décor, pretty much just tables and chairs set up in a painted room. and I recall not liking the lunch waiter very much, but who knows if he is still there… We used to go for the burger, and nothing but the burger. Self proclaimed Best burger ever?! That is quite a claim, especially as I sit here drooling over thoughts of the Park & Sixth burgers I just reviewed. The One is surely memorable, though. It is one of those burgers that needs nothing added or taken away. It is served only one way, and it is perfect the way it is.

Like many Unilocalers, I was surprised at how EMPTY the entire restaurant was during what should have been prime lunch hour. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Despite this the two burgers we ordered still took a little while to come out. We had some appetizers but to be honest, they were not very memorable because… I have completely forgotten what I ate there as I’m sitting here writing this review.
My companion was a fan of their classic burger, but personally I didn’t taste anything in my burger that justified the price point. Then again, I’m not a burger snob and I’m actually ok with eating a Smashburger or In-​And-​Out… so interpret my review based on how much of a burger connoisseur you are.
Not interested in coming back. It wasn’t a bad experience, it just –was-​. So nothing remarkable about this restaurant, I’m afraid.
