Love Mr. Dino’s pizza and FOOD and Gelato and cannoli. They use high quality cheese so their pizza is not greasy. Best Garlic knots !!! Great family restaurant! BESTPIZZA in New Jersey!!!

I often find myself eating both dinner and lunch here. I’ll go in for lunch and then order in for dinner. I can’t think of a single pizza place where I would also order pasta and dinner dishes. This place makes incredible food beyond the pizza. The pizza is phenomenal with excellent timely delivery service throughout the entire town of Montclair, but IMHO nothing beats the crispiness of a reheated slice when you come in to sit down. The owners are very Italian, which makes for interesting interactions in such a WASPy location. That being said, they are respectful and accommodating + they just remodeled the interior. Just look out for when the high school kid gets dispatched to mop the floor. The chemicals will spoil your food, and you should take the hint — it’s the Bum Rush. Time to leave!

Definitely the weakest pizza in Montclair. The owners also believe it’s OK to yell at kids in the restaurant and disrespect their customers. Laughable, if they didn’t insult my wife and I as parents… Horrible people.

Pizza ok, nothing special but the owner’s manners are something else. This guy thinks his customers are cattle. Don’t go to this place if you have kids unless you can tie them to the chair and put some duck tape on their mouths. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Nobody deserves to be treated like that

This is my favorite plain cheese pizza in the entire world. I’ve been coming since the original corner location, when they used to cut the pizza in half and across in rectangles for my little brother. The crust to cheese to sauce ratio is perfect, and I measure all pizza sauce to Dino’s. Have an orange or grape soda with it. LOVE!

Love the pizza, very very very good. Buffalo chicken pizza is the best around. I tried a few of the dinners, its good, not the best ive had at pizzarias. Staff is friendly and aesthetics are nice. Ill be ordering more pizza

A Montclair classic. We have been doing take out pizza here for decades. Ate there with little kids, years ago when it was on its original corner location too. But just ordered veal Marsala take out dinner for first time. Nice. But our favorite: large cheese Dino pizza. Left over slices for lunch next day, yes!

We order from here a lot so I’ve had their food often over the years even though I don’t have a lot of check-ins. I am a Unilocaler who takes this site seriously & I use my reviews prudently. I wouldn’t judge a place after one meal unless it was horrendous– I was surprised Mr. Dino’s had such a low rating. The pizza is the best thicker crust pizza around & the entrees are tasty too! The guy who awarded one star for 6 week old coke can’t really be serious. It’s a shame when a hard working local business gets slammed on Unilocal without good cause. Give this place a try– it’s well worth it!

The subs and pizzas are great. But our first entrée ever ordered wasn’t so pleasing. I ordered a fagioli, shrimp Diablo, veal Marsala and tiramisu. I’ve never had fagioli without the pasta. But… The online menu just said fagioli. It seemed to just be soup with mashed and whole cannellini beans with carrot pieces, onions, cracked pepper with no pasta. The shrimp didn’t have a very fresh taste. It tasted like it was bagged frozen shrimp. Very spicy. Great for those who like heat! The veal Marsala… Good taste but the onions could have been sliced a little thinner and a little more Marsala sauce would have been nice. The tiramisu was a little frozen in the middle. It was icy in the middle during my bites. I’m willing to give them another shot, hopefully the second time around will be much better :-)

My fiancé and I eat at Mr. Dino’s every week! Sometimes twice a week. We adore the staff because they make you feel like family. Grandma’s pizza is fantastic, even as a slice. We keep saying are going to order a fresh pie, but would probably inhale the entire thing in one sitting. The salads are also delicious and always fresh. Definitely stop by for a great meal at Mr. Dino’s if you get the chance. You will not be sorry!

Just got delivery. I looked at the soda I ordered. It has Santa on the label and it expired 6 weeks ago. Never ordering from this place again. Disgraceful. I should have listened to the negative reviews about how sloppy they have become. [Update 6/26/15]: So the owner has sent multiple messages and comments complaining that I should not pass judgment on the quality of his food when my problem was with the expired soda. After looking over my review countless times I have yet to see any mention of his food. Rather, I stated that perhaps I should have listened to more recent negative reviews regarding perceived sloppiness of this restaurant. In fairness to the owner, however, I have decided that it is necessary for me to provide an honest assessment of his food. Here goes: Meh, nothing special. Despite my negative experiences, I must say that Mr. Dino’s provides excellent free entertainment in the form of its owner’s comments and messages on Unilocal.Never had I read in the small business handbook that it was a good idea to get into online disputes with customers or admit that one’s staff is not that bright. But I appreciate the education in how to review a business and the fun exchange.

First time getting takeout from here, I was pleasantly surprised how good their Spinach and Feta white pizza was! The crust was soft and delicious, the opines were plentiful. I could normally eat half a pie myself but 2 slices I was filled. I think it was Definitely worth the price. However, My wife ordered a mushroom spaghetti and it wasn’t anything special, sauce was good but just reg canned mushrooms just didn’t seem like it was worth it. It would have been better if it was like portobellos … Anyways yeah I would definitely order a pizza from here again.

This is the best New York style pizza in the neighborhood that I have found. I order from here all the time and it is consistently very good. While i normally get regular cheese my husband loves the buffalo chicken pizza as well. The staff is always very friendly and delivery is always quick.

I’ve been around the block as far as pizza is concerned and I mean, all the way around the block. I grew up in Brooklyn — I know what good pizza is, but there is a clarification to be made. The so-called«best» pizza these days is never traditional pizza like we used to pay 50 cents for, it’s Americanized spin-offs on the original down and dirty slice. Mr. Dino likes to get down old school and if you don’t get that, you may spend some time complaining on Unilocal about the service or the delivery. There is something to be said for a place that’s been around for this long, still doing what they do, the way they want to. I grab a couple slices at least once a week and am never disappointed. I actually much prefer getting the pizza either there or to go, than a pie delivery. It just seems that the perfect heating temperature is achieved when you wait for it there. You can quickly shovel it down without burning yourself and this is a big deal. This is pizza the way it was intended — original, no nonsense and not concerned in any way with treating every patron like a king. Just order your pizza, wait and enjoy it. If you want some hyped up, fabricated pizza of the century head back in to Brooklyn and pay 4x as much. Or you could just take a seat at Mr. Dino’s, enjoy a couple slices and be home in 15 minutes. It’s really up to you.

We love the pizza and the baked ziti. The restaurant Itself can get rather loud and rowdy. Often the delivery time is longer than expected. Nevertheless our go to restaurant for pizza take out and delivery.

This is the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life no joke. Good, old fashioned, regular pizza. The plain, margarita, grandmas and pepperoni are amazing. I ventured off from pizza and I got onion rings, which were also unusually delicious, and chicken fingers which were amazing. Everything here is good.

Mr Dino has slid to one star based on two factors: the pizza that was delivered last night was ½ hour late and was cold. Repeated calls to Mr Dino were answered with one broken promise after another. And the pizza tasted well past it’s prime. Dino blew it. Time to find another pizza place, after 25 years of Mr D.

Delicious pizza! Best grandma’s pie in Jersey. CHECKYOURPIZZABEFOREYOUACCEPTDELIVERY. Their delivery guys clearly don’t care about your satisfaction. Twice in two weeks I got a pie with cheese on one side of the box. The first time was annoying. The second time is infuriating. I’m more mad at myself for giving the kid $ 5 before I checked inside the box.

My husband and I recently went into Mr. Dino’s so he could grab a few slices of pizza. We never found it to be very good but having just moved to the neighborhood, we have not yet figured out the best slice around. I personally refuse to eat it. As pizza goes, it is extremely greasy and the crust is soggy — pretty gross overall. We went in and I sat to wait with my own sandwich while my husband ordered. I took a bite while waiting as the old Italian man behind the counter looked on and watched me eat. As soon as my husband paid and received his pizza, he came over to sit by me. Immediately, the old man behind the counter came and told us to get out of the store. Apparently my having outside food was a problem for him. While I do understand that and it is common practice, my issue was three-fold. One — he watched me eat and had no problem until my husband’s money was in his hands. Two — he could have politely told me they had a policy and asked me to put away instead of barreling over to throw us out. Three — he spoke(as usual) only to my husband in a practice I can say is something I have only seen in my long-deceased and extraordinarily sexist Italian grandfather. Rules are rules and if I broke one, fine. But there is no reason to EVER speak to another human being the way he did. He could have asked and I would have obliged. You could not pay me to ever enter Mr. Dino’s again. Bad, greasy, soggy artery-clogging pizza is one thing — nasty attitudes another. No place that has both gets repeat business.

I’ve had pizza from Mr. Dino’s periodically over the last 19 years and it has not changed a bit. Not the most spectacular or exciting pizza, but it’s good. And consistent. Worthy of 3 stars. The garlic knots are greasy and amazing and an order(5 or 6 knots) is super cheap. This pizzeria gets the extra star because it’s possibly the best restaurant in Montclair to bring kids. It’s bright, the floors, tables, and chairs are always clean, the layout is spacious, and the counter servers are so accommodating when I bring the 2-year-old girl I babysit. The servers have always been happy to cut her pizza into bite-sized pieces and give me extra cups, never seeming annoyed by my requests, and they were not bothered that one time she attempted to take her clothes off by the counter. Oops. Thanks, I know I can always count on Dino’s!

It’s 73 degrees outside and this place has the AC on full blast. What a waste of electricity! Expensive yet not exactly offering the traditional NY style slice. Very bland and satisfies your hunger but not your tastes buds. Plenty of other choices offering brick oven at the same price.
