Have been ordering take out for many years and they consistently have great pizza! It’s my go to place in Montclair.

I placed an order for delivery and the only great thing was the house salad. We substituted whole wheat pasta and all they had was penne which was not properly drained so the sauces were all water and tasteless. My meal was disappointing so I will not be ordering again anytime soon.

I ordered here because of their gluten free menu. I was very excited that I could order my favorite pasta dish with gluten free pasta. Much to my surprise, I received whole wheat pasta instead. This is unforgivable. I will never order from here again.

We had calamari, eggplant rollatini and Parmesan, sausage and my wife ordered a bottle of wine. My daughters had pizza and steamed broccoli. The food and ambiance exceeded our expectations. We stopped there to juice up my Nissan Leaf on the way home. The owner saw that I was trying to use the wrong charger and came out and helped me. He had people move out a spot so I could charge up. Now it will be a regular place to go for us!

I’ve eaten in the front dining area twice with my family in the past month. The quality of the food is excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive. The reason for 3 stars rather than 4 is because for the price you pay, you get very little food. Costs me $ 95 with tip for four people, and I left hungry. $ 8 for what they consider a large salad is outrageous — it barely feeds one person — if it was $ 5, it would still be too much. The chicken parm dinner($ 14), and the meatballs are very flavorful but again, small portions. I left both times feeling ripped off.

I have been ordering take out from Naunas for 3 years and their stock has been plummeting. I used to not be able to find the pasta in the entrees now I can barely find a piece of chicken. If it wasn’t for the prompt delivery when I am starving I would look else where but I am starting to realize that a good meal is more important. I will still order but will keep regretting the outcome.

I guess the new-ish counter guy’s phone is way more important than customers. I stood right in front of him to pick up my order and was completely ignored(I was 12″ away from him too). He even checked the delivery guy’s slip in the middle of MY transaction! And I had to tell him how much change he owed me too. Be kinder to your loyal customers. You’re not the only pizza shop in town! Additionally, it wasn’t busy at all. #fail

One of the best authentic Italian Restaurants in town!!! Their pizza tastes so good! Love their Fried Calamari– always served fresh and crispy! Mozzarella sticks are to die for, along with their homemade marinara! I always love to order the eggplant parm! And their disco fries– so good! Food here is delicious, tasty, big portions, and fresh food! The environment is clean. Servers are very friendly! I come here almost every Sunday! It’s becoming a tradition :)

I just hosted my sister’s bridal shower at Nauna’s on Sunday. It was the BEST! The guys at Nauna’s, especially Mario, were so helpful and accommodating. They went with the flow with our ever-changing order of events, brought the food out exactly when we wanted it, and were great with the alcohol and cupcakes we brought in. The food was delicious! We had the penne vodka, chicken francese, calamari, eggplant rollatini, and sausage and peppers. Everything was on point and everyone was going back for seconds and thirds(especially me!) The back room where they have the private parties was so cute and perfectly set up when we arrived early to start putting up our decorations. They were really accommodating to the kids in our group, ensuring they had things they would eat and drink. Highly recommended!

If you don’t have a real Italian grandmother to cook for you, then the next best thing is to go to Naunas. You will be treated like family, you will eat well(delicious and hearty), and you’ll leave feeling like you just spent a couple of hours in Italy without having had to spend several hours(and several thousand dollars) to get there. And if you happen to drive a EV, you can charge your car in Nauna’s lot while you are recharging yourself in the restaurant.

We need more EV friendly restaurants like this one. Now if they only delivered to CA…

The service was terrible. This was recommended by a friend. The pizza was average but I wouldn’t go there again.

I am at Nauna’s a lot and I always enjoy myself wether I’m alone or with friends. It is like eating my mom’s cooking. So I recommend Naunas Highly! Come and explore with your taste buds.

I ordered a large plain pie for delivery. The driver ran towards my door and shook the pie a lot. Thankfully the cheese didn’t slide too much, so I thought all was well. But then I encountered the real problem: the pizza. I actually like a sweet sauce, so I thought this might be good. I was wrong. The crust is very very soggy… like you just microwaved a leftover slice that was already soggy. It’s just not a structurally sound pizza. All three elements(sauce, cruse, cheese) are lacking somewhat. That leaves a bland, boring, soggy slice. What made the whole thing so much more disappointing was that despite everything I said before, I got the sense that this pizza has some real potential. I’m not sure if the sauce is made from a purée and the amount of water makes the pizza soggy or what. It’s not awful but it’s not good either.

I’ve been here on several occasions with my dad. We enjoy the BYOB policy, pizza, and the calamari appetizer, which is a fairly large serving for the price. If you like spicy– ask for the spicy marinara, which is really just marinara with pepper flakes. So, not that spicy at all. However– the calamari on my most recent visit wasn’t special. The quality has seemed to drop a bit. Normally we get the Grandma pizza, which is pretty good. Being that it’s a thinner pizza, sometimes the sauce makes the crust a little soggy. When I went tonight we tried another one– the Al Fresca pizza. When we ordered, we asked our waitress if it was a pizza that had sauce. She told us it was, and confirmed with a coworker as he was passing table. But when we got out pizza… No sauce! Apparently it is a white pizza. Although the waitress was clearly not familiar and/or didn’t care, the pizza was good. Being it has baby tomatoes, arugula, and basil it is a light pizza, which is what I was looking for. The service had been fine in the past, but when I went this most recent time our waitress was pretty awful. She seemed to really not care, and was borderline rude. Maybe we just got unlucky this time with a woman who was having a bad day, but it took away from the experience, especially after being told the wrong thing about our pizza. Maybe I’ll think twice about coming here next time I want a pizza– it’s dropping down to mediocre in my book

Came here twice for dinner a while back and the last time i was there I ordered Nauna’s chicken with a side of penne vodka. The food had a nice presentation but the taste was a little bland. I liked that it was BYOB and we were able to bring in our favorite bottle of wine. The service was good and the server reminded us that the tip would be included because of the size of the party which was nice of him to remind us over and over. Overall I would come back to try something new but not the chicken.

I’ve been to Naunas too many times over the years. From the first visit I was not impressed. But friends who live in Montclair always want to go here. So I’ve been. Many times. I’m not an Italian food expert. At all. But I do know when food tastes good. Their food is hit or miss. Usually miss to me. One of my regular dining companions loves the calamari and mussels dishes, and that’s what they order each time. I don’t eat either of those things so perhaps they are terrific. But I’ve had the pasta special of the day. Sometimes it’s ok. I’ve had eggplant parm. Going back to «I’m not an Italian good expert» I don’t find this very good. Limited flavor. Could be I’ve had terrible eggplant parm in the past, but it had more flavor other places. The eggplant was more tender and generally more enjoyable to me. The layout of the place is nice though. A front room that’s more casual where the families with kids can sit. Perfect. The back room is more formal and I don’t think they will serve you pizza there, which has irritated me on occasion as I love pizza and we have never dined in the front room. I’ve had the takeout pizza and it’s edible. Not dream inducing great, but it will hit the spot for pizza craving. The back room is also used for private parties and gatherings, which Ive been invited to as well, and they do do those well. That’s why the second star. Its a great space, perfect size for a 20 – 30 person gathering and they do buffet pretty well. OK parking. Usually you can find a space.

I just attended a shower here a couple of days ago. Like other Unilocalers, I am also surprised by so many negative reviews. Parking was super easy. We used the back private dining room which is very tastefully decorated and offers a ton of room. Lunch was served buffet style. The Italian bread was very blah and left me kinda disappointed, but the rest of the meal made up for it. The penne vodka was so rich and cream. It was probably one of the best penne vodka’s I’ve ever had. The stuffed mushrooms were also good. My fave, however, was the seafood stuffed tilapia. It was very well prepared. Not dry and had a ton of flavor. Wine was also offered by the hostess since it is a BYOB. Dessert included delicious Italian cookies and amazing mini cannolis. Overall, a nice luncheon. I would definitely attend another event here.
