Great dining experience, excellent service and top quality of food. Highly recommend it.

One of my new favorite restaurants. Lemon Chicken. Love the story of the joint too. The restaurant is as rich as the food! Awesome, haha! Good eats!

Worth a visit for the view — but not worth staying for the food! Service was good but definitely slow. The homemade bread was pretty tasty, but the rest was overpriced and underwhelming. Most of the restaurant was empty when we arrived(including the patio) but we were told it’d be a 25 min wait for a patio table… if you need to stagger tables for your servers just handle it on the back end, don’t deny a table of 7 the view and stick them inside! Unfortunately we were starving so we took the indoor table and missed most of the best part of this place. Interesting story about the former house of the Uranium King, but I’d stop by just for the history rather than staying for the food in the future.

Worst service I’ve ever had and was charged a gratuity because we had a large table. Our gratuity was $ 8.20! And I had both my drinks spilled on me. It took an hour and a half to get two drinks. I called to complain and got — ok. I would recommend taking your business somewhere where the wait staff has the ability to Serve a drink. The drinks however where good. But for four jack and cokes and one appetizer at $ 52.00 you better have some descent service. The restaurant wasn’t even busy yet.

I was excited to try this place. Great view from up above the town, beautiful setting and interesting history. Loved reading about the former owner of this mansion, the uranium king. But…then the food came. And it was bad! The service was ok, but food mediocre at best, and pricey for what it was. Coming up here was a mistake. There are better restaurants in town. Skip this one!

DON’T DOIT. Find another place that has a view, climb a canyon wall, jump out of a plane, just don’t go to this place. Our server had NO experience and just that facet of the experience was uncomfortable. When my «prime rib» came I started to cut and the table was shaking so bad my son said«Dad, I think I have a chain saw in the back of my truck». I am sure the cut was from the day or maybe the week before and you could beat a Grizzly Bear to death with it! And where did the $$ come from? This brick cost me $ 39! The town has some fantastic places to eat, do yourself, your wallet, a Grizzly Bear and the landfill a favor and skip this place. PS The place is so run down, maintenance on the structure is non-existent. After seeing the outside, I should have ran.

Loved this place when we came 6 years ago so we came back tonight. Service was terrible, 4 out of 4 of our steaks were well done when we asked for med rare. Very poor response from manager when we complained. Come for the view and an Old fashioned but don’t expect good food or service!

I’ve been here before and it was great. Tonight we ordered Prime Rib medium rare. The food came out well done. When we complained we were told that they had to use up the well done food and they were very sorry. No accommodation whatsoever. Terrible service. But excellent view, for what it’s worth!

Great dining experience. Came without reservation & was greeted immediately & seated within 10 minutes. Was seated with great view of mountains & server came over quickly. Lisa was very attentive & very knowledgeable concerning the history of this restaurant & the original owner of the 50’s style mansion that now is the restaurant. She gave us a good history lesson of the Moab area as well. The food was very good & served promptly. Ambience was what would be expected in a 70 year old house. Everything was periodic & interesting. All in all very good time was had.

This place is overrated and they don’t understand who the customer is. Booked ahead of time for a party of 7. When we showed up we checked in and waited around for 10 minutes. When we then asked how long the manager said it would probably be 45 minutes. Both the hostess and manager could care less that they were overbooked and running way behind. They seem to always be busy so why worry about the customer. While waiting outside by the front door we were next to the window where the kitchen was. The cooks were talking loud and we could hear them talking about dropping a chicken. I would never go back. This is just a tourist trap. We decided to leave and went to another restaurant in town. They sat us within 15 minutes without a reservation.

After a long day of hiking my husband and I were looking for a nice quiet dinner for relaxation. Based upon reviews as well as recommendations from the hotel we elected to go to the Sunset Grill. We are greeted by two very pleasant hostesses who informed us that we had a 10 minute wait. After the wait, we were seated in a room next to a party of 20 that was so loud we could we could not hear each other talk. We tried to stay at this table however quickly realized that it was not an option. There were four other tables in this room at different stages of their meal. All of the tables were communicating with each other on how miserable this room and experience was. The party of 20 was actually laughing about it and joking with each other about what was happening. We complained to the hostess and were given the option of either waiting for another table or sitting outside in the cold. While waiting, we found out that another group had originally been at our table but opted to go outside after realizing they would not be able to enjoy their meal. We finally moved to a quiet table upstair(9pm by now). This is my first complaint. If the table was unacceptable by others, then don’t try to sit us at that same table. Our 2nd complaint is that the waiter was extremely unfamiliar with the menu in the restaurant. He was very pleasant and tried hard but quite honestly was poorly trained. He was new. He didn’t know the types of vodkas that the restaurant had. He didn’t explain the special to us. It would be unfair to hold the waiter accountable for this. This is the managements responsibility. Third complaint, my husbands lemon snapper(special) was served raw in the middle. Kevin, the manager, later explained that this is the way it’s supposed to be served. Again, waiter should have informed us. Strawberry salsa on top of fish was actually delicious. But we did send the fish back to be cooked through. The meal was very disjointed and anything but relaxing. My salmon was excellent but I finished my meal before my husbands fish came back – the rice and veggies were average. Plain white rice and steamed veggies. The manager/waiter Kevin never came to apologize at any point during this whole ordeal. After we paid our bill(2 hours later) and we were on the way out, we asked to speak to the manager. He claimed he did he know anything about our issues. At no point did this manager Kevin ever apologize for our experience. He just kept telling us that that space was limited and they were very busy and acoustics are bad. To me, this says the restaurant doesn’t really care about their clientele. Suggestion-if you get seated next to a large party in a room with poor acoustics to begin with, then charge a room fee. We tried to explain this to the manager/waiter named Kevin but he just didn’t get it. So if you do decide to go to this restaurant and they seat you in a room with a large party do yourself a favor and get up and leave. The evening before we ate at «Twisted Sistas» and had a fabulous meal — -go there instead of Sunset Grill where the owner/manager actually care.

views were spectacular but the food mediocre. Prime rib was rubbery and over cooked. pasta sauce too tart and over cooked. staff was attentive but the prices didn’t match the premium charged

Great family run restaurant. They go out of their way to please you. Food is excellent and the view is spectacular. They picked us up and dropped us off as well. What else is there to say. Plus you’ll learn a bit about the history of the town.

The food was pretty good, but the prices were totally unreasonable for the caliber of this restaurant. The median price point was $ 25, with no dinner options lower than $ 22. And although there was an attempt at good service, some of our salad plates were left on the table throughout the meal, and the cutting board that they brought with the bread, stayed on our table for the entirety of the meal. I do not mind a pricey meal, but the service has to match the prices. This meal was a $ 100 disappointment.

My wife and I came here 4 years ago on the night we got engaged and had a good meal here and loved the view… This year we brought her parents out and told them about this great place to eat… Problem is in 4 years apparently they didn’t keep up the pace. Like many other reviews here, we waited FOREVER for food. No one asked us for refills of drinks, no one tried to give us a new bottle of water, we had to wait more than an hour for our food to come out and when it did 3 entrees where cold and 1 piping hot. The Filet was approximately ½″ thick. Such a small steak for $ 34 and it was over cooked! I got a linguine dish with crab and shrimp, but someone must have missed the crab memo as they’re might have been 2 total pieces. My advise is there are many restaurants in Moab, try them over this until they start to get it right.

As soon as my boyfriend and I were driving into Moab we noticed the Sunset Grill high atop a beautiful mountain and knew the views would be amazing. I wished we would have read the reviews prior to going. The views were amazing however the only food item that tasted good was our appetizer, which was the artichoke baguettes. My boyfriend ordered the pepper corn NY strip medium rare — it arrived at our table well done. He sent it back and the waiter rather than take it back immediately asked if it would be okay if he just comped up a dessert. It was sent back and arrived this time extremely rare — when my boyfriend was asked how the second was prepared he informed the waiter it was a tough cut of meat and was cooked rare. We were then told by our server…“well, you know some steaks are cut that way.” Extremely disappointing experience.

The reason why it receives a 2 stars is because of the hostess! We were recommended to come here by the local and said the sunset view is very nice. The place is now leased out to the restaurant owner by Charlie Steen’s descendants, he was a prospector and found uranium here, who became a millionaire-known as the «Uranium King!» We were driving there, but happens to follow the restaurant’s shuttle bus, the restro actually runs a shuttle to bring customer to the top of the hill — it’s location. The place is actually nice, on top of the hill and has mountain view. The food is decent and could have come out a bit faster, but it was busy that evening. We had the Casear Salad Onion Soup as appetizer, and Filet Mignon and Idaho Trout as main course. Decent portion size and everything was ok, except the steak was a little more than medium rare. Our server was efficient and pleasant. My trout was actually good, golden on the outside and still juicy inside. Now why did I give this place a three stars then? I told the hostess I like to sit on the top patio area, where there was still tables, but she said it is no longer open. I do not want to sit in the middle of the other lower patio. At the end I had no choice and the sun was shinning on my face and I was not happen. The worse was that after she told me that the upper patio was not open, then she directed another table to the upper patio! Well, if iit was really close or no longer has the capacity to take care of more customer, then no more customer should have been seated on the upper patio.

Come here for the view… maybe not the food. I must say, the view and setting of this place is worth the stop in. You feel as if you are going into someone’s living room while enjoying one of the best views of Moab valley. The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and nice. I was rather excited for their special version of prime rib with garlic blue cheese. Unfortunately it was only«ok». I asked around the table and the consensus was the same on the filet and the salmon. Check back on reviews, if the food pickups slightly this place would by far pair the best view with a good meal.

Service can make or break a dining experience and in this case, it was both. First off the location… is AWESOME! The former home of the Uranium king of Moab, UT. Perched high atop a hill overlooking the city perfectly situated for amazing Sunsets. The décor is modern casual and the women’s bathroom looks like something out of old hollywood. Diners were very casually dressed, yet it had an upscale ‘ish’ feeling. As for our experience; I called the day before to make a reservation for my Dad’s 65th birthday and was told they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more, but Kelsey was kind enough to make one for us given our celebration. Upon arrival, we were seated at possibly the BEST seat in the house with an awesome view for the sunset and we immediatley felt special. That feeling diminished as we realized over time(about 25 mins to be exact), that we STILL had not seen our server. We were the second to arrive in that area(top floor), yet EVERY subsequent table had been greeted and served. Upon speaking to the host station, our server FINALLY made it over. We got NO welcome… my name is… where are you visiting from… here are our specials… NOTHING. We then waited an additonal 15 mins JUST for drinks! The large party table next to us had the privelege of having Dean as their server. He was jovial, informative, instinctive and did one hell of a job carrying the tables serving tray. NONE of this did we get from our server, NOT even a Happy Birthday! Thanks, Charlotte… Thanks! We overheard Dean telling the other table that the Prime Rib was NOT availae in a temp lower than medium, yet OUR server told my Dad it was available in a lower temp. Hmmmmmm. When I spoke with the manager/owner, even HE was befuddled by her comment. Be asked if it had arrived yet to our table and it had not. Dean, noticing our disappointment hearing my conversation with one of the owners, stepped in and made us feel great! He EVEN sang Happy Birthday to my Dad, Elvis Style!!! THANKS, DEAN!!! THANKS!!! Our food finally arrived… and it was FABULOUS!!! My Dad’s Prime Rib was to his liking, I had the Lemon Chicken which… was awesome and My Mom had the Honey Pecan chicke. which she was was AWESOME! So everyone except our server was FABULOUS as was the food. If I am ever priveleged to visit Moab again, I would DEFINETLY go back… just with a different server, LOL. Hopefully, Dean!

Eigentlich unfassbar.

Arrived in Moab early Friday evening after some hiking, but didn’t get around to looking for a dinner place til 8 or close to 9pm. We called Sunset Grill to make sure they would still be open and they said to come on by! We arrived about 30 mins before closing and were seated in the upper level of the restaurant/house(?). There was a party of 4 there, drinking, and still enjoying their meal, but obviously the night was winding down. Our hostess was this sweet girl, very helpful with the menu, very polite and attentive. Seriously, such great customer service, and not shooting daggers at us for arriving so close to closing. I ordered a breaded chicken dish with rice and my companion ordered a steak dish. Both dishes were tasty and just the right serving to fill us without leaving us stuffed. Since the restaurant is on a hill, there is a nice view of the city. The only con about this place is getting there. There’s a narrow roadway that takes you up to the restaurant, with space for 1 car, sometimes 2, to share the road. I imagine this could be incredibly annoying during peak times because you have to pull to the side to let a car pass or vice versa. I recommend for a nice dining experience: Alright food. Excellent customer service. Nice view. Decent prices.
