Simple burgers, fries, and shakes. Very fast service, friendly staff, and a great value for the family. Large booths can fit 6 adults comfortably as well. Nice atmosphere with the Americans décor from the 50s.

Server was friendly, attentive, and quick, atmosphere was that of every other Ruby’s, classic and fun. Where the experience didn’t earn more stars was with the food and cleanliness. My water glass had residue along the rim of the glass and didn’t find that particularly comforting. I had ordered the Avocado Burger, and to sum it up in one word: bland. Didn’t taste like a burger should taste, no flavor despite having a good amount of guacamole and cheese. My family enjoyed their food on the positive side(Mediterranean salad and other burgers).

I always come here with a special needs child I work with. We might not be the easiest of customers, but everyone here is so nice and great to us and treats us wonderfully! Amir, who helps us often, is especially great to us! One of our favorite dinner spots!

Ruby’s in the mall — the bacon cheeseburger, fries and a cup of coffee were all pretty good — but the service was dynamite! The hostess had a terrific personality, and our server was on his game — coffee never got cold or too empty. Good spot to relax and refuel during your holiday shopping trips!

My first job from age 15 to 18 was at Ruby’s(at another location in Orange County) so Ruby’s has a special place in my heart and I’m glad to see its still thriving. This location is now the closest one to where I live. It’s located right at the entrance to the Mission Viejo mall near Macy’s. They have totally re-done their entire menu in the past few years but still have burgers, fries, salads, shakes, and a few other options. I like the«light» options with less calories that they offer. It seems like the prices have gone up too, but I guess that’s what happens these days. I have been to this location a handful of times and never had a bad meal here, I almost always order the turkey burger on a wheat bun and it is so good. You have the option to have a salad instead of fries too, which I usually opt to do. Last time we were served by Amir and he was really attentive and even brought my husband some fries out first because he was hungry. The shakes are really yummy treats too… these shakes beat any other milkshake place around. Also sometimes when I’m shopping I stop by for a diet cherry Coke to go. Rubys has definitely evolved over the years but the food, service, and milkshakes are still great!

I had the cinnamon French toast, wasn’t the best in my opinion. Loved the bacon & eggs but the cinnamon French toast was super filling and weirdly moist. Everyone else’s dishes were ok I guess, not the worst in my opinion but it’s very expensive for the dishes they give you.

My boyfriend got food poisoning from the cobb salad at this location. Stay away from this place.

Patty melt good and we shared a plate of chili fries. The strangest chili I have tasted. Filled with chunks of tomatoes. No chili flavors. If you have had it before and like it order it. But if you are new like us and expecting chili, you will be disappointed.

If an establishment has a model train running, it’s probably a good indication that the place is the bees knees. If they have TWO model trains running, you’d be crazy to pass them by. This Ruby’s has two, so boom, ambiance is definitely on point. Service is so good that glasses never go empty, and they know how to make disgruntled customers happy when their shakes are too cold to drink through a straw(this really happened as I was waiting to be seated). They used to have a burger, tuna or beef with goat cheese. That was my baby. It’s gone, things change. I’m now in love with the Sriracha burger. It’s like a 3.5÷10 so you’re totally okay if you’re used to «white people spicy.» Bonus tip: try dipping your fries in the Sriracha mayo(ask for some).

Kidget card is an awesome value! You buy the card at the customer service desk located behind the fountain in the mall. The card costs $ 5 and is valid for a year. The card allows you to receive a kids meal(which comes with a drink) when you buy an adult meal & drink. You can use the card every time you go… love it! — Only Valid at The Shops Of Mission Viejo location. Also the turkey burger tastes like beef because of the seasoning. Really good! Also they do cater. I had a party for 50 people and they did an awesome job, dropped it off at the location. Burgers were hot and shakes were frozen! Very well done!!!

Nice decorations in the store. My daughter loves the train and the penny bubble gum machine. We love the cheeseburgers and fries and the shakes are so yummy. I usually order the BLTA(bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado) or the tuna melt. My daughter sometimes gets the Mac and cheese and pigs in a blanket. Service here is also pretty good. Just an FYI, if you have the kidgits membership you can get a free kids meal with purchase of an adults meal and a drink. Great value.

Alright so I gotta drop some love for this place. I come here all the time, typically for breakfast. First off, let me just say, as an employee of a nearby company and as a regular, I pass by often without purchasing anything and almost always receive a greeting of some sort from the staff(even those who don’t know me or when I’m offword and just walking for mall shopping). Some days will be just a hot chocolate or coffee sort of day, with both being fresh, hot, and absolutely amazing on early morning shifts. Other days, that hunger kicks in, and I’ll grab a breakfast meal and these NEVER disappoint. My personal favorites are the Breakfast Burger, the«Really Big Breakfast», and the regular RubyBurger w/Fries.(Plus, you gotta get a coke, am I right?) [Sidenote: These are not ordered all at the same time… I am not able to eat three full meals at the same time.] NEVER have I taken a bite and been like, «Yooo this isn’t me…». I’ve always enjoyed Ruby’s food, and the service and speed from the staff is fantastic. I’ll put my order in, turn my attention to my phone for a few minutes, and suddenly a host/hostess is tapping on my shoulder, to-go order in hand. I’ve waited maybe 13 minutes at the longest, and that was during a rush on Burger Day.(A lovely day where they cut the price of their original burger. Gotta keep up with them for this day!) Although I mainly do take-outs, I’m a fan of the sit-in and dine experience. My girlfriend and I have enjoyed the seafood platter here plenty of times. The fish was breaded, crispy, and juicy, and the shrimp was perfect, The folks in the kitchen know what they’re doing, and the taste truly shows. The restaurant and it’s restrooms are always clean and fresh too, so it’s even nicer to be able to look around and enjoy the deco, and really kind of just get lost in it. From awesome service, to friendly staff, to great food, this is by far my favorite Ruby’s, and I’ve hit a bunch of them, including the mother store. Another lovely bit, is that a while back they took the breakfast burger(which is in a sense just a burger with Egg, Bacon, and pure epicness in it) off the menu, but will still let me order it. Never had a rude moment, and I can say I’ve probably dealt with every member of their staff at least once. You rule, Ruby’s. Keep it up!!!

I came here with my wife for lunch. I was still full from breakfast so I just came along for the ride. When it came time to order I told our server Scott that I wasn’t hungry. He suggested the hot dog and fries. I agreed and it was delicious and the perfect amount of food. Not to mention he was very attentive.

Ruby’s is one of those great American places that everyone needs to try at least once in their lives… I have never been disappointed in my visits there… and this visit was no exception. Food is always fresh and tasty… the service is always excellent… and their shakes are definitely what keeps me coming back. Definitely do yourself a favor and go to Ruby’s.

Ruby’s is a great go-to place when wanting a great sit-down restaurant that is always ready to deliver great consistent food. I love ruby’s and their milkshakes– Oh my goodness, they have probably some of the best around, and with so many flavor combinations it is pretty easy to satisfy any sweet craving! I have been going to Ruby’s locations for several years and this one has always provided great service, well prepared food, and quick to seat their guests. Despite being in the heart of the Mission Viejo Mall this location still stays consistent and is a nice break from the craziness of the Mall. I would recommend Ruby’s and find them to be a solid Diner when looking for burger’s and milkshakes!

Good things about this place: love the trains going around(not all rubys have something fun for kids to look at which is weird) and Saturday night balloon artist who is awesome. Cons: asked for a to go box and got one and realized my kids dinner was already gone, great I’ll just take the box for the one hot dog my other kid didn’t eat. Waste of food. Second time I’ve been here and my white wine is luke warm. Best for burgers nothing else much. Tried the chicken tacos tonight and they were pretty much awful. Did not taste Fresh, tasted like grocery store Tyson chicken strips. Pretty gross for $ 10. It was obvious I didn’t eat much and the waitress didn’t say a thing about it. Will go again for balloon guy and I guess stick with a burger.

I love their cinnamon French toast combo even for dinner or breakfast. Nomnom! Much better than their competitors and the staff is always awesome.

I’ve been going to various Ruby’s locations for nearly 30 years(from the now closed location of «Ruby’s on the Lake», to LAX, to Kahului Maui), however over the past 4 years I’ve primarily been going to this one at the Shops of Mission Viejo. Party because it’s the closest but more importantly is because they always get my to-go order correct. I have a fairly simple order, so you’d think it’d be a given, but many a time have other locations gotten it wrong and since I’m a trusting individual(or a one who doesn’t learn) I never checked it until I got home. With this location they have never gotten it wrong. They are quick too, it’s about a 10 minute drive from my home and every time the order has been ready within minutes of me arriving. It may not be the best hamburger on the face of the earth, and maybe it’s the nostalgia talking, but there is something about the seasoning in the beef that makes it extremely satisfying… like an «all is right in the world» sort of feeling. Takes you back to days of yore when your parents would take you out for a special treat of a hamburger, shake & fries on the weekend. And Ruby’s makes the best coffee shake I’ve ever had, not too sweet. I’ve found the service to be adequate, let’s face it this isn’t Mastro’s, and the girls(I’m not sure I’ve had a male server yet) aren’t trying to make this their career. They are friendly and check on you often enough that you aren’t waiting for long to get a refill, etc. The 5 starts isn’t because they have the best burger, service or value hands down… it’s because they are the best at what they do, being Ruby’s.

I wasn’t expecting much from this place but ended up really impressed. Our party of three ordered a cheeseburger, a Mediterranean salad and a hotdog kid’s meal. Everything was fresh and delicious. My Mediterranean salad was loaded with fresh veggies, sprinkled with salty olives and feta cheese and topped with juicy chicken breast. My dining partner loved her the juiciness of her cheeseburger and crispiness of her fries and I’ve never seen my daughter inhale a hotdog so fast! It was packed at lunch but the friendly waiter did his best to keep up with all his customers. All around a great success.

I am not sure if they always do seating the way they did this past Sunday afternoon, but they just had everyone line up along the side of the restaurant in the mall — and they took people in the order they came. Which is fine, but not very smart… as there was a table open for two, and a table open for a larger group — and they sat the next person in line, a party of two — at the larger table, so the larger group next in line had to wait to be seated longer, along with everyone else. It just seemed very disorganized. The service was eh. I ordered a salad with my burger, and never received it, so I asked the waitress to please remove it from my bill. She was very distracted whenever she was at our table, and hardly ever came back.
