A dude is only going to like this if he scores after. No thanks … Too much work. The cheese fondue was okay but the cooking of the meat was a pain to cook.

I went here for my birthday with my boyfriend and the whole experience was phenomenal. We had Fernando as our server and he was beyond amazing! We did the 4 course meal and had some drinks and spent about $ 100 which wasn’t bad for everything we got. I can’t wait to go back! Great for special days such as birthdays, anniversaries, valentines day, etc…

Totally unique dining experience! I loved that everything was prepared and cooked at your table in the fondue pots. We started with two cheese fondue appetizers – the spinach and artichoke and the bacon Gorgonzola. Both were good, with the bacon one being a totally unique flavor. We had our children with us and they loved all the bread, chips, veggies and fruit they could dip in the cheese(and our waiter was kind enough to refill the chips for them). Speaking of the waiter, Nicholas memorized our kids names and made sure their drinks were never empty. We have an autistic son who repeatedly asked the waiter the same questions and he was very patient with him, which always wins points in my eyes. We skipped salad and went straight to entrees, although the salads all sounded yummy. We ordered the shrimp, chicken, chicken dumplings, sirloin, salmon, and spinach ravioli pasta. By doing the«Fondue your way» we were able to get a wide assortment. The meat comes raw(keep that on the end of the table away from the kiddos!) and you spear it and cook it at your leisure in boiling flavored broths(we chose coq au vin). Most items are fully cooked in two minutes. Then they provide you five very flavorful dipping sauces for your meats. You are also given fresh veggies to cook – potatoes, mushroom, broccoli. Overall, a great experience and something we haven’t tried before. For a family of five we paid $ 120, which included all the food above and all our drinks. I’d say that’s more than we normally pay for a dinner out, but not bad for a special dining experience. We will be back! And next time I will have to save room for dessert :) The only complaint I had was the steam from one of our fondue pots was in my face most of the meal. I was ready for the nice breeze when we walked out.

If you are looking for a fun, romantic place for a special date night, then Melting Pot is definitely worth consideration. The restaurant is very dimly lit and aims for a more romantic ambiance, and the service is friendly and exceptionally attentive. They have a good variety of cheese fondues and dessert fondues, and their fondue pot prepared dinners are very good as well. One of the cool things about this place is that all the food is prepared right at your table, so you get to see the entire process of your meal being prepped. I would personally recommend the Wisconsin cheese fondue; there’s something special about a beer cheese fondue in my opinion. The fruits and breads they serve with the cheese are very moist and fresh, serving as a great complement to the fondue. The meats that embody the dinner are also very good and flavorful. They provide different sauces to dip the different meats in, so each bite can be completely unique which I think is a nice touch. The dessert fondues are simply amazing. They are amazingly sweet and the sides they come with are ridiculously moist and sweet as well. Throughout the dining process you are never rushed, making this meal about a 2 hour experience. For the full course meal with cheese and dessert, you can expect to spend approximately $ 100, but it is certainly worth trying at least once!

Had a really great experience with 2 of my UTHSC classmates. We are all 3 from out of town. Our waiter was wonderful. I wish I’d gotten his name, but I left him a great big tip anyway because he was so nice & funny & completely took it in stride that 3 nurse practitioner students were doing flash cards on extremely questionable topics for dinner. Everything I ate(the Wisconsin Trio dip, California salad, the Pacific Rim dinner & the Flaming Turtle dessert) was incredible. High points were: the Wisconsin Trio cheese dip, with just enough blue cheese to give a sharpness to the buttercase & fontina(tart apples were an inspired dipper for this!), the duck breast of the Pacific Rim entrée, and the Flaming Turtle dessert with Rice Krispy treat dipper. Keeping this experience from being 5 star: we were there for ladies’ night, and I have to say, a lot of it seemed really condescending. We liked the«vendor’s room» type thing, with the massage therapist, jewelry, etc. The options were limited on the special menu, however, & we opted for the regular menu. The cocktails were decent, & $ 6 ain’t bad. However, I would advise against the practice of having a Facebook«Like» page vs. one that people actually have to «friend», and then asking us to friend the page. That comes off just a hair creepy, & I don’t really want a total stranger having access to all my friends locked stuff. Just learn to better use the«Like» page for marketing purposes.

Do not bother making reservations at this restaurant. The only way you are getting seated without a long wait is apparently passing some sort of first impression test by the hostess. I planned on having a nice romantic dinner with my girlfriend to celebrate our three years together and happened to make a reservation at the Melting Pot in Cordova for 7:15pm. My girlfriend she had been there a while back ago and would like for me to take her there. I arrived at the restaurant at 7:10pm. Two couples walked in shortly after and both happened to get seated pretty quickly. By this time it’s about 7:25pm. Last I check, there were no reservations options between the times of 7:10pm — 7:15pm. So I ask my self how the hell is this possible?! We finally get seated at 7:45pm, and if the night was already starting off pretty bad, the hostess only gives us one menu and tells us «I’ll go scrounge up another one for y’all, be back in a sec.» Long story short I never got menu. The food was good but I wish I would have got the hostess name cause I sure would like her to see how great of job she is doing and the fact that she’s the reason for a terrible review. If it wasn’t for our awesome waiter, Chris, who did a fantastic job at making our experience here more pleasant than our hostess, I would rate my this place 1 star. Also here’s a tip, have a bunch of stuff to talk about and things to entertain yourself with if you are having a date here. There will be long waiting periods between meals and drinks.

One of my favorite place to go. The food is amazing and I love the slow relaxing pace to just hang out and talk. Pros Reservations Romantic for couples but also good for families and friends Great/Healthy food Courses so you get an experience Cheese/Salad/Meat/Dessert Quiet and Cozy Comfortable Cons The only down side for this location would be the staff. Every time I’ve been here they seem really rude, annoyed and frustrated. Then they expect a huge tip. Highly recommend and makes for a great date night if you are looking for something special TIP We split for 4 and its way too much food. Also try the MOJO :)

My husband took me out here for Valentine’s a few years back and we have never been back because it’s just way too expensive. It was a fun experience and we had fun, but it was one of those«once in a lifetime» kind of things. The food was delicious, but the portions were so small we were hungry afterwards.

The meal was good, yes. The meal also took almost two hours due to equipment and service missteps. If you want fondue, though… this is your spot.

Since my first review, we’ve eaten at this Melting Pot twice. They have made big improvements-in their facilities and their service. Our server tonight, Fernando, was very attentive and had a great personality. The food is still amazing; we almost went for the marshmallow Oreo chocolate tonight, but in the end-the Flaming Turtle won again!

This is a fun dining experience, it’s different. It is very pricy for a franchised restaurants and the quality of the food is typical of franchised, so somethings you can tell are cheap(like the cheese and meat). But all that said I would probably go again for a birthday because it would be fun as a group. The dessert was the best part!!! We had a bit of an issue with service at first. I wanted to sit in the quite booth right across from where she sat us but she said it wouldn’t be in that server’s section, so I asked why he couldn’t just turn around and serve us right there and she said her boss doesn’t like her to do that! Yes… Bless her little teenage heart. I told her I can talk to her manager. We didn’t have a server for 10 minutes until I asked the manager if we could be helped and she’s the one that got everything started. The server finally came after 15 minutes, but he was adorable so all was forgotten and the rest of the meal was fine. One star taken away for the service at the beginning.

Any time I need to celebrate a special occasion, I try to get a dinner at Melting Pot out of it. It’s very pricy, so I try to reserve it for special occasions. I’m always so glad when I go, though. My absolutely favourite thing and the must-haves for me are the fiesta cheese fondue(it’s like the best queso you’ll ever have) for the cheese course, and the teriyaki sirloin for the entrée course. Sometimes I’ll get chicken with the sirloin or shrimp, sometimes I’ll really splurge and get dessert(the s’mores fondue is amazing!), but if I don’t get those, it doesn’t feel complete. I’m not into a lot of foodie type food so a lot of the dipping sauces just don’t appeal to me. I don’t like gorgonzola cheese. They offer you a trio of sauces: teriyaki, ginger plum, and a curry sauce. Then there’s also a gorgonzola port and a green goddess(like the old school salad dressing) sauce. The only one I really like is the ginger plum. The teriyaki is good too but dipping teriyaki sirloin in teriyaki sauce is overkill for me. For any of the courses, when it comes to the cheaper ingredients like fruits, veggies, and breads, they’re happy to give you extra if you want. Though should you want extra meat or cheese fondue, they can do it for you but it costs extra. The service is always fantastic. Everyone’s very nice and will explain anything on the menu for you. The ambiance is always wonderful, it’s nice and quiet(though not so quiet that you feel you can’t talk to the people at your table). My only beef is that lately I’ve been noticing people bringing their kids with them. Why? This place costs $ 40+ per person, plays quiet jazzy music, has no kid’s menu, and features a vat of bubbling oil at your table. What about that screams«Gotta bring the kids!» to a couple? I don’t fault the restaurant as they obviously can’t turn away people with children, but a little common sense by potential diners can go a long way. Kids don’t want to sit around for two hours, especially when a lot of that is spent waiting for the next course.

Pretty expensive. Portion wise is okay. Servers usually will bring you more vegetables if you ask. Your the cook and you cant really complain about how its done due to being your fault and all. They give you 3 disgusting dipping sauces, and two amazing ones. The two amazing ones are 1 cream cheese based and some other yummyesce type. Even better if you combine them. The best if you stuff the mushrooms with it and cook it for a few seconds. Server’s are usually very good. This time his laugh is creepy. i recommend going and just doing cheese and dessert. To me the entrée isn’t worth the price. More or less a special occasion place that you hope your significant other does not pick. For the same price as one visit of you and a guest you can buy all the equipment to do it yourself at home.

The Melting Pot is pretty much positioned as a special occasion sort of place. The food is a bit more expensive, but not really that bad compared with other special occasion places. The real issue is the time. A four course meal where you are cooking all of the items yourself takes a while. Two people might be able to do it in an hour and a half if they rushed, and I’ve been with groups of 12 – 14 that took four hours for dinner. The big thing for me is it really is a unique experience. They offer something pretty much no other restaurant in town offers, and they do it quite well. While it will never be an everyday place for me, I do like to go once a year or so.

This is my fav place to eat :) The food is always yummy! Ummmmm — especially the dessert. And we’ve never had bad service. We usually use a coupon — emailed when you join their online club(it’s pretty expensive so we only go for special occasions) and our waiter has never given us any problems with them. We’ve even brought our own wine before and even though the menu says they charge a corking fee, we weren’t charged :) Their drinks are delish too. The Love-Tini is my fav. Yum!

This is my best friend’s favorite restaurant in the universe. An although it’s not mine, I do really love it. They have a great wine list, fantastic food and impeccable service. What’s not to love? It is a bit pricey for«fondue», but you get generous portions and it’s incredibly delicious. I usually skip the entrees here and order the starter cheese fondue. My absolute favorite is the Traditional Swiss. It is sooooo creamy and rich and wonderful. It’s served with pieces of bread and veggies. I want to cry when it’s all gone. But then I get all happy again when the bring out the dessert fondue. Rich and decadent chocolate with pieces of fruit and cake for dipping. Sinfully good. Here’s a little known tip. Mondays are college nights. If one person in your party has a college ID, you can get cheese and chocolate fondue for two for only $ 25. And that’s a deal for The Melting Pot. A And go early, because from 5 to 6:30 they have a good happy hour with specialty cocktails.

I love The Melting Pot. Love it. And some rip on it, and I don’t understand that. I’ve been there several times, and I’m always excited to do the fondue thing. Basically, here’s the deal: It’s kind of pricey, but not ridiculously so. The reason that it’s pricey are the fresh ingredients. Everything tastes great. It’s a fondue place. You order from a good selection of fondues that include cheese, broths, meats, veggies, and sweet dessert fondues. A server explains the deal to you — how long to cook each piece, what the dipping sauces contain(and you get a selection of six?, I believe), and what combos are the most popular. Then, you have at it. Cooking and dipping, and mmm!-ing. It’s great. I love it. I usually get the shrimp and chicken combo with the basic broth fondue. It comes with veggies like potatoes, cauliflower, mushrooms, and broccoli. The goddess(?) sauce is creamy and good and tastes great inside a mushroom cap. They have a great selection of fancy drinks, and you must have the yin yang dessert fondue. This restaurant screams ‘Perfect place for a marriage proposal(happy bellies, wine buzz).’ or just when you’re feeling fancy. Just sayin’. And, I did spot some little kiddos in there, but with all of the hot stuff bubbling and the sharp fondue forks, I’d make sure the kids could handle themselves around that kind of a thing. If they’re mischievous, I’d pass.
