Best Indian cuisine in the world! This place is absolutely amazing. They have a great lunch buffet on Wednesday afternoon. However, if you miss it, that’s OK too. I have never ordered anything I don’t like. I would recommend the vegetable pakora, the vegetable korma, garlic naan, the spanich paneer and the samosas but everything else is quite tasty also. I went a week only eating from this restaurant, nothing else sounded quite as delicious. The vegetable korma is so creamy, the vegetables have the right amount of crunch and they can add or omit certain vegetables at your request. The spice level can also be adjusted, but the standard level is perfect. I have had spanich paneer at many locations but this is my far the best. Also, the batter they use for the vegetable pakora is light and crunch, it’s not greasy at all and the green sauce that comes on the side is Devine, it’s absolutely a perfect pairing. The staff is awesome as well. If you are new to Indian food, as I once was, they will patiently explain what is in each dish and make personalized recommendations based on your personal taste. I wish more places had as great a staff as raj’s rasoy. Try their food, you’ll be happy you did!!!

Ok so haters need not apply to this place. The interior is completely lack luster but kind of sketchy awesome. We went at 8:00 pm on a Friday night me + wife + our 2&4 year old who are not good restauranters. We were the only ones there for the most part so children sitting down and playing cars and ponies was totally ok. The food is above average Indian food and we saw three Indian families coming for pick up that has be a good sign! If you looking to be amazed perhaps go elsewhere but if you want veggies with basmati rice and you have kids this place is for you. If you are vegan like we, you will love that they outline everything on the menu and will gladly tell you what is vegan at the buffet.

I used to live right around the corner from Raj’s, but moved. Sad face. I really need to get back there. Food is great. Service is good, too. I usually get the dinner box which is a surprise of various things. Always good. Sometimes they show Bollywood movies projected on the wall. Cheap buffet which is nice because you can try things you wouldn’t normally order.

Food is very delicious. I had paneer and roti. Standard fare but it was very well made. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall kind of establishment. Nothing fancy. Actually just about ok as far the place is concernced.

We really like this place. Its all vegetarian but it is some of the best we have had. The indian veggie burgers are great and a really good deal with two to an order. The vegetable korma is also good as well as the spinach saag. We are meat eaters but in all honestly the variety and selection you get here makes you forget about the meat. I do however wish they offered Dosas but I think that is more of a regional indian selection. Still don’t hesitate to try them. Its worth the trip. It is true there is nothing fancy here and maybe is a bit of a dive and in a rather dumpy shopping center but sometimes you find a gem in these places. ’

This place is amazing. Staff are so kind and courteous. Food is great. I’m not a vegetarian, but with food like this, I am entertaining the thought.

most disappointing Indian food I’ve had. the samosas were soaked in oil. the lentils were watery and bland. and the veggie pancake value meal. well, that was a confusing mystery that should not have been served. it was a super salty cold mess of boiled potatoes and chips with 4 stale veggie cakes. truly disgusting! I could not have made something so bad even if I have tried myself. and I LOVE Indian food.

I’m from Nebraska. We have cattle and steaks and football and more beef. If you admit that you are a vegetarian, you are branded behind your ear with an «X» and sent out to wander the barren plains… So for me to admit that I love this vegetarian establishment is me risking a lifelong ban from my beloved home. But I can’t deny it! I love this food… don’t judge me. Raj’s Rasoi is a terrific place. It’s not exactly on the beaten path, so unless you live in Maryland Heights, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to Google it on a map before you come on down. Once you get there, though, strap in for some goodness. Rather than posting my favorite dishes, just look at the rest of the reviews, because that’s what guided my decision. It’s a no-brainer for the lunches. The buffet is wonderful and filling, and so damned affordable. The dinner’s aren’t too different. The dinner boxes will totally stuff you… you just have to trust that the chef won’t steer you wrong with his choices. If you haven’t had Indian cuisine before, this is a great starting point. If you’re hesitant, just ask one of the staff for recommendations. Good times to be had!

I liked Raj’s Rasoi, but for me it didn’t measure up to some of the other local Indian restaurants. As with every other Indian restaurant I’ve visited, the place was barren when we pulled up. There were no other tables others than us. We wanted to try a few different things so decided to order the Dinner Special. It consisted of a chef’s choice of a few different entrees. It wasn’t clear on the menu how many people it fed. We ordered it with an extra side of Naan and it fed both of us nicely. The dish on Wednesday included Vegetable Korma, and Paneer Tikka Masala… both which were tremendously good. It also came with Saag Paneer and Channa Saag Vegetable Pakora, and those Indian doughnut thingies which were all just ok. Tip… their online menu is way more helpful. Take a look at that before you go. Inside the décor is ok. The place seems a bit dirty. Service was super nice. In hindsight, I wished we would have ordered straight off the menu. But we enjoyed our pre-concert dinner. However, if we were in the area again, I think I prefer Gokul.

I carry mixed feelings for this place for 2 reasons. I loved the food but could not appreciate the poor service. First the con: I purchased the Groupon NOW! deal and showed up at 7:30p to eat dinner with a friend. We finished at about 8:45 and before our server(the owner’s son) brought our check I told him of my deal. He took my phone away only to return at 9:05 with our check. The deal was $ 10 for $ 20 worth of food but when he gave me the check, the deal only subtracted $ 10 from our bill. He said he typed in the code at 9 so it only gave me $ 10 off. Clearly not my fault, right? After telling him how I felt about his lack of typing it in on time, he simply gave me a «sorry, there’s nothing I can do». I, of course, then asked for a manager and he informed me that he is it. OK, well let me tell you all over again why this is not right. He wouldn’t budge and finally I questioned his truthfulness on being THE manager. He then tells me he is the owners son so I asked to speak to the owner. It took him 10 minutes to come back saying he went ahead and adjusted the bill again taking the other $ 10 off. All that for what?! I’m not usually one to be a difficult customer but this, to me, gave me reason to not back down. Also, he never filled our empty glasses once. Pro: The food is delicious!

I have been twice so far and the food has been delicious both times. I suggest if you’re a beginner, like myself, going during the lunch buffet hour. Try a variety of dishes and decipher what you, but my vote goes for the Vegetable Korma. It’s they’re most popular dish and although it says it has cashews and raisins do not be fooled I could not taste either. It’s very similar to Curry if you like that sort of taste. Having it mixed with the Basmati rice and/or folded up into Naan(similar to tortilla bread) is a good idea. However, for my die hard carnivores please note that this is vegetarian restaurant so do not expect any meat at all, but if you can spare one meatless meal it’s definitely worth trying.

I’ve eaten at a dozen Indian restaurants in the area and there is no comparison to Raj’s Rasoi! I found this place after buying a living social coupon deal and I’m so glad I did. While I’m not a vegetarian, I prefer to eat that way. I’ve now been there more than 25 times since late October and haven’t been dissappointed once. The owner, Raj, is very sweet and happy to help in any way. He’s been renovating and working on the décor as he can. 1. Price: The lunch buffett is a steal at $ 6.99! The buffett changes a little every day so there are always new options available. I have yet to find an item I didn’t care for. Menu entrees are generally under 10. 2. Food: The food is dvine! Each dish is well seasoned and neither too hot or too mild. Raj is happy to change a dish to your liking as well as alter a dish to make it vegan. 3. Location& Décor: In an odd, unsuspecting strip mall slightly off the beaten path. I drive 20 minutes from St. Peter’s…its’ that good! Think of it as an Indian Greasy Spoon… the décor of an Eat Rite is neither good nor bad but you’re more worried about the food anyway. It does however have paper topped cloth tablecloths, cloth napkins and nice stemware. 4: Dinner: I’ve never eaten in for the dinner service but I have ordered to go. I suggest the Dinner Box… lots & lots of food, chefs choice of dishes so it’s a suprise each time! 5. Service: The owner Raj is a gem and happy to serve you. The staff tends to be a little quiet and they just assume you want water and the buffett unless you ask for a menu and drink. 6 Delivery: Available through 569-Dine 7. Groups: Banquet room available for parties 8. Catering: I think I’ve heard the owner talking about this. Try It… You’ll like it!

A great little vegetarian place for lunch. The dishes are all well spiced and not overly fatty or heavy. The korma was very good. They take the time to toast the fennel seeds in the bowl on the way out so they actually taste good. The put little touches like ground pistachios on the kheer. It is places like this that make me love vegetables even more, and show that vegetarian food does not have to cost a fortune. This place is a bargain.

After an initial visit for take-out, where I split the dinner special with a friend(what a bargain! More than both of us could eat for ~$ 15), I went back today for some lunch take-out. I ordered the chana masala, my favorite from the dinner special selections we received previously, vegetable samosas, and an order of garlic naan. My total was ~$ 16. Firstly, everything was piping hot, which is always a concern of mine. I hate when food is lukewarm when it’s supposed to be hot. The garlic naan had a light texture and a great garlic flavor. The samosas were perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. You receive two baseball size samosas with two dipping sauces, a savory/spicy green sauce, and a sweet brown sauce. I love the green one.(Excuse my ignorance on the names of things, I’m a newbie to Indian food.) The portion of the chana masala was huge! This chickpea focused dish was sooo filling, warm, and pleasingly spicy. And it comes with basmati rice. I didn’t even eat a quarter of it before I was full, with the naan and one samosa. I’ll get at least two more lunches out of the leftovers. The owner was the one who rang up my order, and took care to ensure that I was aware that the garlic naan was not vegan. This is such a great place for delicious vegetarian options, and they always clearly label the vegan options as well. While I don’t consider myself vegan or vegetarian, I still really appreciate the effort. And since this place is in my neighborhood, I’ll definitely be going back again and again. More people need to support this excellent hidden gem.

I have seen this place a number of times when driving by. It doesn’t look like much, and is pretty small on the inside. The food is really good though and it’s all vegetarian. I am not one of those people but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it. Pretty decent place to go if you want something different. The service is good as well. I’ll be back here.

We met our friends(the B’s) for lunch at Raj’s and enjoyed the buffet on a Wednesday. There were no other customers, which is a shame. The buffet is not large, but each offering was well seasoned, fresh and simple. It seemed to be like home cooking and our friends who are Indian heartily approved. They rated it well above nearby Priyya and somewhat better than Gokul. Like Gokul, Raj’s is 100% vegetarian. On this particular day we enjoyed the typical vegetable korma, saag paneer, a dal blend(masoor and channa) and another vegetable dish. All had very good seasonings. The naan was very good and the chutney’s also had excellent flavor. The green chutney had pleasant heat and was a wonderful bright green color. For desert there was excellent homemade mango ice cream. Gulab jamun are not something that I normally eat(too sweet), but a thumbs up from Mr. B encouraged me to try one. I agreed it was as good as I have had. I expect we will hit this place for lunch once in a while. It is certainly not fancy or charming, but for a quick and tasty Indian lunch, it would be a good choice. It is a bargain. I hope that they have more business than we saw on this day.
