Fantastic food at a very affordable price. The pick two option is a ton of food. Try the chicken tandoori special and make sure to get some for take home. Good place to order ahead and pick up to go. One of the better Indian restaurants out there!

Some of the best Indian cuisine in St. Louis! Be ready for a «diner style» setting, and self-service for utensils and plates. Service is fast, and they bring the food to your tables. However, you do get the impression that efficiency is important than hospitality when they take your orders at the register. Frankly, you feel a bit scared in making sure you get through the lines quickly… ever see the Seinfeld«soup Nazi» episode? Not that bad, but reminded me of the feeling. Still, I have to give 4 stars for their wonderful variety and quality of food. My wife and I were very satisfied, and makes for a great date, without the kids.

So my only issue is the price for what you get. First the prices are the same as a sit down restaurant but this is fast food style ordering so that doesn’t make sense. Then the price say 12 or 13 dollars for chicken tikka is again on par with other restaurants but this does not come with any salad(it sits on a few pieces of salad but there is no dressing) rice or naan for that price. That is way too much for literally a few small pieces of chicken. The lamb comes with even less pieces and no sides at all for 13 bucks. Also these two items did not even come with something to dip the meat in. Literally just came with a few pieces of meat. I think if you find good portion items it could be a worth while place.

Delicious goat biryani, garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. The egg fried rice and chili chicken were also very good. Large portion sizes for both the rice dishes so lots of leftovers. We tried the gongura goat special which was a little too sour for our taste but the goat meat was well cooked. For dessert we had the bread halwa which didn’t look appetizing but tasted amazing.

I am giving 3 stars because the food tasted good. We tried this place twice and believe me I have had better Indian food. Their food has so much oil that you can drown in it, you will not notice it unless you have some left overs. Oil was literally floating on the curries, I know Indian food is a little oily but this much can easily give you a heart attack. I would not go back to this place unless this is the last place to eat Indian food. The service here sucks, someone will come and deliver your food on the table and after that you are on your own. They have disposable cutlery, you have to pick everything yourself. I would have not minded it at all but after what you pay for the food a better service is expected.

All I can say is better place to substitute Hyderabadi Biryani… Spellbounded with the aroma and awesome authentic taste of masala and rice… Best Place!!!

What you pay and what you get are out of proportion. The prices are normal Indian restaurant prices. Food is OK and Service/Amenities are sub par. I ordered chicken biryani. The rice was super hard and the meat was really of low quality. Why I said amenities were bad: You don’t get plates and silverware on the table. They are available on a condiment stand for pick up. That is hole in the wall mom&pop style. I love it but the prices are regular restaurant style prices which should not be the case. I am not expecting eclectic fine dining at that rate, but at the same time there has to be trade off. Not coming again!

The place is neat and clean Their staff is friendly and courteous Their food is fresh, not overspiced, good portion and delicious. Most of their deserts, pastries and cakes are excellent and made in house. With the beautiful décor I wish they did not have cafeteria style service. My favorite items so far are Chilli chicken, chicken pakowra, hyderabadi chicken and garlic naan. Oh and their black forest cake is knock out.

Best Indian food in town. Can be a little spicy if not asked for mild or medium level of spice. Fantastic biryani.

Been here a few times on my way in or way out of Fort Leonard Wood. The service is fairly quick and the place appears quite clean. I usually do the take out and the server at the counter was quite patient with my questions. I have had the biryani, fish and the pastries. The biryani was good and was enough for 2. The fish wasn’t very impressive, it kinda tasted like fish cooked in chillies and tomato sauce. The restaurant boasts a variety of dishes but most of them taste quite the same. That being said… I’ll probably go back… heck the chow at Fort Leonard Wood can make Gordon Ramsey wish for a Big Mac!

Our friend from India took me and my friend here for dinner. He ordered everything for us, mainly a variety of meat dishes with rice, He knew I prefer mild heat and was sweetly accommodating. Indian food isn’t my favorite cuisine but I would happily visit this establishment again, it’s unpretentious, clean, well laid out with fast service, and has a convenient location near 270/Olive.

If one was to review their ‘Biryani’ its a hands down 5stars. The rest of the stuff don’t come anywhere near the taste of their delicious biryani. Naan is really soft if eaten there. Ambience is fast food place like. You order at the counter and seat your self at the table and the food is served to you. You have to get the plates and napkins kept at the entrance. 2 television on either wall, one playing willow cricket and the other bollywood song videos. They also carry some desserts behind the counter. Mango lassi is tasty. However nothing beats their bombastic Biriyani!

I am from Hyderabad and lived in different parts of India before moving to the US. I have been here for just 2 years, and have only been to the major cities in the East Coast, besides Chicago and SF. The Biryani buff that I am, I have tried it at all these places. I must mention that I was never as delighted as I was this time when I had Anis’s Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani. If I were given just one word to choose to describe the Biryani, the answer is a resounding«Authentic’. Right from the presentation(the biryani comes with a topping of boiled egg, raw onions), to aroma(the raw onion on the top complements the spices very well) to the taste, everything about this Biryani is authentic. As someone who has learnt to make his Biryani for the dearth of good Biryani in the market, I would give it an 8 on a scale of 1 – 10. The only area that I would see some improvement is the sourness(tangyness), which could be enhanced further. Besides that, the recipe could also go a little easy on the garam masala, just a teeny-weeny bit. The accompaniments were also note worthy, the Salan and Raita were authentic too. Not a direct accompaniment, but the Double Ka Mitha(How can you not have it after the Biryani) was legit too. As I explore more items on the menu, I will certainly post on them, but this Chicken Biryani is arguably the top 3 that I have had outside Hyderabad. Job Well Done!

Lunch combos have been my main fare during multiple visits. Can’t go wrong with the vegetable dishes. The chicken 65 is delicious but I will admit a few times the pieces have been rubbery/fat laden. Stick with the vegetarian and you won’t be disappointed. Cash only if you spend less than 10

Solid Indian Restaurant, I got to order 2 different things here and the bread(naan). First was the Chicken Biryani, which apparently is a pretty popular menu item. It is basically the biggest, chicken, rice, veggies dish ever. Comes with 2 sauces; I kinda just dipped spoonfuls of rice and meat into it and ate until I was full. It’s enough food for at least 2 meals. I was full the night I ordered and had enough to eat for lunch the next day. The naan was good but it was quite small for the price. you only get one piece; I would definitely want more of it next time I go. 2nd was Lamb vindaloo. It was good, except it was quite small in comparison. The sauce was tasty, rich, and spicy. However, the portion for this dish is quite small, especially in comparison, so other than that, it definitely was good Would recommend this place and would come back for Indian food in the area

Although my Indian food experience is not yet extensive, the ability to recognize delicious is food is. This place has a bright atmosphere, a classy design, and belly busting portions(for a very modest price of $ 7 – 8) served on the perfect plate with three deep depressions to hold all the yummy food all with the upbeat Indian pop music with the extravagant music videos you may have stumbled across on the wide world of youtube. I didn’t quite catch the name of the dishes but I picked up the lunch special which consists of ordering 2 main dishes and a heap of delicious rice. I chose a goat dish and a lamb dish. The goat was alright but the lamb was down right mouth watering. Also, the rice was absolutely wonderful especially with the curry sauce drizzled over it, not to mention the chewy naan. Other dishes I had the opportunity to try from those who came with me was a chicken masala, eggplant curry, and a lentil dish. I would go back just for a double dose of the lamb or try the lamb and another option I have yet to try. A downside, the in store menu has no description for any of the dishes to go along with their indian name. So if you are unfamiliar with the food either go for the lunch options or pull up the online menu as it has a full description of each item. Finally, almost every dish I tried had a bit of a kick to it, not too much unless your really sensitive to that. Make sure to ask the staff if your worried, they seemed like fairly pleasant people.

My friend had an Indian food craving so we trekked to Anis Hyderabad. We arrived at 7 pm and there was just a table occupied. But then when our friends arrived at 7:30 pm the place was starting to fill up. At 8 pm the place was full. I rarely go to an Indian restaurant so I’m not quite aware of the food and I didn’t know what to order. But the crew were very helpful They walked us through ordering. We first ordered samosas and chicken 65 for apps. They were delicious. For entrees we had lamb vindaloo chettinadu and also a vegetable dish, garlic nan and goat biryani. All were absolutely delicious. I love the consistency of the stewed dishes. They were thick and rich and were seasoned well The ambience is a cross section between a fine dining and a fast food setting. I understand this is a common setting for an Indian restaurant. Over all we had a pretty epic experience. We will be back again sometime soon.
