Great food, great service. The seafood was as good as it gets. The Ocean Fire salad was fantastic. You also get to order from their sister restaurant, Ignite, which is next door. The Buffalo Blue Potato chip appetizer absolutely rocked it.

Great food, drink, atmosphere and service… if you can get a seat. The Ceasars salad with grilled jumbo shrimp was delicious but the blackened Mahi had a little too much spice for the fish but it was cooked perfectly. Not a huge menu but a great selection so everything was fresh. As good as any restaurant in Manchester and the staff clearly enjoys working there.

If you read my previous posts, I travel for work from VA to CA on a weekly basis. I have been to NH a few times and had limited expectations for a good meal/atmosphere. However I was wrong. I stayed at the Hilton Garden and made my way here. The bartender, I never got her name(her sisters name was Alex), was great. It is obviously run by someone who takes care of the employees and customers equally and this is further proved through the food. I had Oysters to start which were Blue Point as the special. I live on the shore in CT so I can get Blue Point 500 yards from my house for free but they were very good. As an Entrée I had the Aegean Haddock and it was awesome. The food was great and the people were better. I have traveled for 4 years across the eastern US and just started reviewing, this is my first 5 star and its well deserved for multiple reasons…

I came here on a weeknight with a buddy of mine and we were very excited to try this restaurant. Against all the great reviews, we were sadly disappointed! Maybe they had an off night but we were not impressed at all with the food. I had the Aegean Haddock Piccata served over angel hair pasta. Now I’m down with reserving some pasta water to finish a sauce but this dish seemed like they added a ½ cup of pasta water to the plate. The fish itself was pretty good but the sauce was absolutely flavorless and I had a huge watery puddle on the bottom of my plate. Having grown up in WI, I’m also a huge fan of cheese but this dish had an obscene amount of feta cheese. I ate plenty of it but had about 1⁄3 cup reserved on my plate at the end of my meal. My buddy had the Lemon Rainbow Trout which also was rather bland in flavor and had a TON of bones in it. I know it’s not uncommon to have 1 – 2 bones in a fish dish but this trout was to the point of unacceptable. My friend had to pull of several bones in almost every bite and the bite he offered me resulted in a mouthful of bones as well. I’d like to give Hooked a second shot but my first experience didn’t go well.

The menu is not extensive, but it’s thurough. You will find something to sate your craving. The lobster Mac and cheese is amazing, and the haddock picatta was equally noteworthy. The staff is attentive and responsive. The setting is cozy and genial.

Customer service was great. The seafood chowder was meaty however not as flavorful as I expected. The shrimp cocktail was good. The blacken Mahi Mahi was over seasoned. The Seafood Cioppino was full of shrimp, scallops, clams and mussels however, was unseasoned. It was not worth the price.

I’m hooked! Food here is super fresh. The staff is doing a good thing here. Only complaint is that they don’t serve any draft beer. Not a huge deal, I had a red wine. Be prepared to drop some $$$ if you’re coming to Hooked and want to do it right.

In Manchester on business and love seafood. Saw the reviews and decided to try it. Sat at the bar and had a memorable dining experience. From appetizer to dessert, the food was great. Tanja, the bartender, offered advice and was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Hooked.

Great oyster selection and their bouillabaisse and stewed seafood options phenomenal. Service was great and it’s one of the few boutique quiet options downtown. Martini list one of better ones in town.

I was in town on a business trip with a co-worker. I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and it was de-lish! My coworker had the Seafood Cioppino which he enjoyed very much. Next time I am in town, I will be back.

I am amazed at the service at this restaurant, grabbing someone’s attention to get a seat is difficult but once your seated, our waitress(Annette?) was the best. She was super at attentative, patient and efficient. My younger sis who isn’t a huge fan of seafood was easily given a menu from the bar next door which was not only more affordable but had food outside of their great seafood menu. I ordered a cup of soup and the fish tacos off the appetizer menu and the portions were very generous! The quality of seafood was great for a restaurant within its price range! The deco is also super charming. I love the giant fish bones on top of the bar and the hammerhead shark hanging near the entrance. The ambience is on the noisier side being a small restaurant with a bar but it’s not deafening or overbearing. I Always swing by when I’m in the area to get seafood once during my travels, that chowder makes me one happy diner

Wow. I love seafood. Traveling from Atlanta, I wanted lobster. Or pronounced LOBSTAH. The mussels were a great appetizer. Awesome! I sat at the bar, which was great. I ordered two, 1.5 pound steamed lobsters… Lazy-man style. Go with this way. It came with a few vegetables, which makes you feel better about the bowl of butter that you will use with the lobster. The owner visited every table, asking how everything was/is. Very nice lady. I was staying at the Hilton and they dropped me off and picked me up. Great spot. You don’t have to drive far to get this great food if you are in Manchester! Awesome!!!

There are few places in life that cab give me a meal I will never forget. This is one of my all time favorite restaurants! Everytime I have gone there I get the Lobster Ravioli, and one of each appetizer. The food is delicious and I always order more than I can eat but I love eating the leftovers on the drive home and sitting on my couch. There is no better seafood place then this.

Well, let’s start with the best, the food. It’s quite rare to find a decent seafood place not by the coast and I certainly didn’t think I’d find one in downtown Manchester. We’re in New England after all, so seafood standards are high. Hooked more than surprised. It’s home to Manchester’s only raw bar and along with the ocean fresh shrimp and oysters, the smoked trout and salmon were delicious as well. My friend enjoyed the cod special which was cooked perfectly. The fish tacos and salmon po’boy are other favorites. The place is clean and huge inside with plenty of space to not feel cramped and has outdoor dining as well, though it’s too close to the passerby for my taste. The service was quite bad on our last visit as we sat without menus, then sat with them shut, ready to order for another 10 minutes(we were at the bar in plain sight of the waitress and there were only 3 other tables). The end of the meal saw us endlessly waiting for the check and then again for change. Besides the exhausting service(which seems to be an issue based on other reviews) the food makes this the place to go in Manchester for fish, hands down.

Wanted to take a photo when they came out but couldn’t wait. Next thing I knew they were gone. Must have mussels. Ignite calamari with lime something or other. OMG. Costa Rican fish tacos were excellent. If in Manchester NH make a stop at Hooked in downtown. You will be glad you did.

Yesterday marked my second visit to Hooked, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is spot-on — low lighting that isn’t too dark, cozy seating that isn’t too crowded. Great for a date or a business meal, as long as you don’t mind that it’s a little bit on the louder side. Unfortunately, they only have street parking, but it’s worth it for the food! I’ll agree with some of the other reviewers that this restaurant is slightly pricey, however, I don’t think that $ 20-$ 30 per plate is too much to ask for great seafood. The Char and the Calamari were excellent. The fish tacos were to-die-for. The lobster mac and the seafood ravioli were not the best I’ve had, but tasty all the same. Also, it’s AWESOME that you can order off the Ignite menu in addition to what Hooked has to offer. Good wine/beer selection. The area where this restaurant falls short is the service. The waitress was visibly annoyed when we asked to view the Ignite menu. We had to chase her down to get her to refill our waters, and she was quite slow. I will admit that the slow service could have been a management problem, since it seemed like there was only one waitress servicing 4 – 6 full tables. That said, I definitely expect better from a nice restaurant like this one.

After hearing about this restaurant as the go-to place in Manchester for seafood, my girlfriend and I decided to visit this place for a saturday night out. The attractive décor, the good food and the cozy atmosphere was painfully tainted by the horribly rude and patronizing waitress. She made the two of us feel unwelcome and ‘not up to par’ for that restaurant. We were served with a snobby attitude and we just couldn’t wait to get our food and exit the place. The cutlery that was served to us was dirty and completely unwashed, although it was replaced upon request.
