Not a good doctor at all. I have been going to this guy since I was a child. Unfortunately the only reason I continued to go is because my parents didn’t know of any other doctor that they could speak to because of language issues and that I was limited because of my insurance. Even as a kid I knew this doctor was horrible and that I only went to the doctor under dire situations otherwise I wouldn’t waste my time going and this was a my mindset as a 9 or 10 year old for this doctor. I will explain two of my many experience’s to support why I don’t recommend this man at all. As a child I had to receive shots for immunity which all children have to do which isn’t a bad thing since I don’t have a problem with needles. I go in to the doctor and have my immunization card with me to get my shots and update my record so that I could go to school because it was routine and everything is fine. I receive my shot and it’s all good, he cleans the area with alcohol and he tells me I’m good to leave. Now if you’re reading this and didn’t catch on then I’ll explain it right there. I left without a band aid and he didn’t apply a little pressure on the area to possibly stop the area from bleeding. As a kid I right away knew that was wrong because I wanted something to stop the bleeding. I pointed it out but didn’t say anything because he rushed me out. I walked out and my whole sleeve which was a white t-shirt was covered with blood. When my dad saw it he asked the nurse for a band aid right away and I really have to say that those people who sit in the front really were keeping calm about the situation considering a young middle schooler was dripping a lot of blood out of a sleeve. By calm I mean they showed no emotion what so ever. They gave me a band aid and didn’t even put it on me. They just handed it to me. My second experience of many that I like to explain which made me say«how is this guy still a doctor?» is also when I received a vaccine shot. This man loaded the vaccine into the syringe and injected it into my arm, which was fairly simple. You stick in the needle and inject, but oh no I guess after that step it gets a little hard for the doctor. The needle was in and he injected the vaccine, he then moves the needle in my arm in a circular motion, which at that moment my eyes bulged and the thought that raced through my mind was«are you crazy!!!» that needle moved inside my arm in a circular motion. That was a memory that I do not forget easily because since then I have gone to several doctors and asked every doctor and nurse that I know and seen if there is ever a need to move the needle in a person when they are injected with a vaccine, and the typical response is always the same which is NO!!! I thought that«hey maybe I’m over thinking this» maybe that specific vaccine was supposed to be injected that way with a needle in the arm being turned in a circular motion so I should confirm my suspicion by asking people in the medical field being doctors and nurses. But the more people I asked the more I realized that I was right to this how is this guy still a doctor. I caution anyone who goes to this guy that there will be several times where bad incidences will occur. But I will be fair by saying that he isn’t bad all the time, sometimes he’s ok, he checks you and prescribes you meds decently but what can I say, I was just a kid at the time and being a person who doesn’t know what medicine to take, you trust that your doctor can prescribe you the right medication for what issue ails you. So I never judged him on things like prescription drugs but I can judge this doctor on some common sense. I urge anyone who goes to this guy to be on your feet and point everything out at him. I know families are struggling who don’t speak English or know of resources they have to choose other doctors go here because I was one of them. Families will continue to go to him but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t point out everything he does.

Very reasonable price Doctor. If you don’t have money, he is not out to rip you off and will try to help you. However you will be doing business with the Vietnamese here mostly. If you are not use to the Vietnamese, their manners and cultures, then don’t go here. Just as you would not want to go to Compton or Watts without knowing someone there or how to navigate the terrain, the same can be say going here. Of course if you are oblivious to your surrounding, you will probably don’t notice it anyway and would not know the differences if you are in Compton or Beverly Hills. My 5 stars is base on the Doctor and his pricing only.

Despite being a patient at Dr. Hoang’s office since I was a toddler, I ultimately had to switch doctors because of my recent negative experiences here. PROS: — For those who don’t have insurance, Dr. Hoang is not out there to rip you off like other doctors do. — He was able to rush my prescription out a little after closing time one time when we called him for my lab results. — If you speak Vietnamese(which I don’t), you won’t feel rushed out during your appointments. CONS: — If you don’t speak Vietnamese, you will realize that you feel rushed out. My friend’s family feels the same way I do about this. My appointments never lasted more than 5 minutes while other appointments lasted at least 15+ minutes. — He would NOT refer me to a specialist even though I came to his office several times with the same health concerns. Each and every time, he shot my pleas down and claimed that«I was too young» which I thought was utter complete BS… anyone can feel sick at any given age. I became so frustrated and came to the conclusion that he would no longer be the right doctor for me. He didn’t seem to care or find it peculiar that my issues were still there after a month. A good doctor will want to work with their patients in giving them that peace of mind by referring them to a specialist if they cannot give them the proper evaluation. Even though the doctor speaks English, I always felt there was still a language barrier. Dr. Hoang may have been friendly but I don’t think he took me seriously as I had wished. Especially during my last few visits where he would laugh off my symptoms… If you are young and don’t speak Vietnamese, I suggest you find another doctor. I have come to the realization that the best time to start building a relationship with your doctor is in your 20s, and Dr. Hoang may not be the right one for you if you agree with me here.
