I think it’s permanently closed. SOSAD! I discovered it was closed a couple of weeks ago and it kinda threw me into a mini-depression. I really loved that place. Anyone know what happened?

It’s coffee in a mini warehouse: P Got that industrial feel with minimalist décor. Very cool spot to chill and get work done. Free dependable WiFi and plenty of outlets. They even have small lamps to throw some extra light if needed :) I got the Fashionista. DELICIOUS. Espresso over ice with milk and simple sugar… very unassuming drink, but with just the right mix of ingredients to make you stop and think. WOW, THISIS A FRIGGINMIGHTYTASTYDRINK. Almost reminds me of a Spanish latte given its creamy sweetness. Definitely hitting this place up again!

Somehow Classic doesn’t have the sexiness of right across the street Verve, but Classic still is a relaxed place to enjoy your coffee and company in an open, airy space. A good alternative if(or rather, when) Verve is packed.

The abundance of coffee places in LA will never fail to impress me. Originals, chains, pop ups. Classic coffee is just yet one of those many overlooked gems in DTLA. Street parking may always be doomsday for anyone wanting to explore DTLA but never underestimate your luck because then you’ll get to visit places like these when your luck strikes back. DRINK: Caramel Latte, Vanilla Latte, & Mocha Latte all with almond milk. All iced. Perfect for an afternoon treat! Top hits: — Plenty of seating — Awesome interior — Free wifi — Close to Grand Central for some extra grub

Came here on a Saturday to get some studying in and it was great! The barista and the cashier were very friendly and patient and let me take my time trying to figure out what coffee I wanted. I got the cold brew with lowfat milk and it was good! Although I still personally prefer Alfred’s, the coffee here is pretty close to comparison. It’s a great place to study with all the outlets on the wall and even on the lamps. The only thing I would say is that there is limited seating. This place also has a great location so you can walk to any of the good food places around downtown!

I came here hoping to get a few hours of study time in, but due to limited parking was only able to stay for about an hour. The coffee shop was cuter in the pictures on Unilocal than it was in real life. I think they may have been remodeling some things when I visited but I’m not sure. The barista recommended the cold brew, and so I got it. It was pretty good but I kind of wish I’d gotten one of their specialty drinks. I probably wouldn’t come here again, considering the other options in the area, but it was worth the visit.

Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops because of its décor inside! It looks super clean and white inside with a lot of open space with big windows and everything. The furnishing is also very comforting and looks super hipster. Great place to study! Also love the steps to an upper study floor with a tree. Super cute. The drinks and pastries are good also. We got the vegan donuts and they were great. Very moist. kinda resembled a cake more than a donut though. I also got the Iced chai latte. I liked this a lot because it wasn’t too sweet. MUSTGET: A rectangular nectarine and raspberry tart. SIMPLYAMAZINGGGG. The worker who helped us out was very helpful and friendly when helping us choose our pastries. She also suggested the vegan banana bread. Very moist and delicious. They also have a local newspaper called the ‘Downtowner’ which is great because it tells you of new things in dtla and upcoming interesting events. It comes out every month and is a great way to get to know the city! Don’t forget to checkout upstairs! Nice open area and super cute.

Well, I wish I could give this place more stars, but I did witness a barista accidentally break a mason jar into the ice chamber and after diligently trying to clean it out, still serve iced beverages. Still seems very dangerous. Other than that– the vegan doughnuts were delicious and the atmosphere is very hipster/cute.

The interior design is very modern and beautiful complemented with a central open bar. The staff were very interactive and welcoming. The drinks were good too. Perfect place to study or work on stuff(if you don’t mind a bit of music).

I love this coffeeshop – it’s the perfect place to study, as it has: — Tasty Intelligentsia coffee — Free WiFi(pw: lovetheclassic, or you could just ask the barristas) — Tons of natural light — Plenty of space for you, your computer, your fancy earbuds, your notebook(s), your phone, wallet, RayBans, latte, multicolored pens, polaroid camera, elbows, and ego ^ There is also plenty of space for you to get real work done and avoid the people who come here for the Insta. As for coffee, I like the fashionista best, since I love a great iced coffee. But honestly, anything is good here. You will be spending a pretty penny here, especially since this is one of those overpriced hipster coffee places. Extended parking, as always, is always a pain in DTLA. But the amount of work I miraculously get done(especially since the music gets kind of loud sometimes) makes it worth it. And if you really want your dollar’s worth, you can sometimes get free leftover pastries and donuts if you stay until closing :)

How I’ve managed to delay a visit to this marvelous coffee shop is beyond me. The times I’ve seen it sit quietly on that corner of Main and 9th are bountiful. It has always had a charm about it. And so on the particular day of my visit, I finally gave in to its appeal. Actually, that other coffee shop across the street was busy, that maybe played into why I went to Classic instead. But I always wanted a reason to go and this was it. So as I near the building, admiring it from across the street as I waited at the crosswalk. The tall glass exterior really gives it a fashionable appearance, almost as if it’s one of those high end clothing boutiques. Which works well given that it is located in the heart of the LA Fashion District. Once inside, it’s nothing short of what you’d expect. The simple yet contemporary décor is complimentary to what is to be a fashion forward space. The glass windows overlooking the intersection of main &9th, the centered espresso bar, the light and dark hues, and the inclusion of potted plants along the wall are work in unison to create uniquely modern domain for the fashionistas and non alike. Then take into consideration that they serve coffee beans from Chicago’s resident roaster, Intelligentsia. It’s just the cherry on top.

Absolutely love this place. I tried the Con Leche, as I like sweeter, brown-sugared iced coffees and this was so delicious that when I finished I kind of wanted another one. It was about $ 4 or so, typical for a hipster coffee place. The space is almost like an art gallery/cool lounge upstairs, which was my favorite part. They moved the plant wall to the second floor. Really cool place to relax and catch up with friends! Parking — came on a Sunday so it was a little easier/free meters, but I believe meters only(typical DTLA). Service was great, I asked the barista for some recommendations and she was pretty friendly and willing to recommend a few options. I definitely have to try the Fashionista later after all of the reviews mentioning it, but I’m tempted to go back for another Con Leche…

This place has the best environment ever! It was such a great experience and the atmosphere is very cool and hip. there is a loft upstairs that gives a great view to watch this part of LA and is very well decorated. Also, the workers there were soooo great. We ran into the shop 2 minutes before it closed and they still made us our coffee and let us wander around and hang upstairs until like 30 minutes after closing. We they did not make us leave or Rush is out. Great customer service. The coffee wasn’t the best thing in the world, but it was good still! Overall, we had such a good experience here and if you’re around you should go! P. s. Across the street there are angel wings so it’s a good photoop!

HOWCUTEISTHISPLACE? I mean, it’s really hip and overly trendy. The Classic Coffee tries a bit hard, but I think they can get a way with it since they make a mean cup of joe. This box shop coffee spot is clean, bright, and spacious. I love the centrally located 360 bar, the high ceilings + floor to ceiling windows, the plant pot wall, all the beautiful furnishing, and attention to detail. The design and interior was well thought out, and every corner is a picture worthy shot. From the ceiling to the floor, everything is beautiful — I mean, even the staff are quite the lookers! So aside from the entire space and baristas looking runway ready at the drop of a pin, the coffee is actually legit. I ordered the«Fashionista»(when in Rome!) — FOUR expresso shots, simple syrup, and a touch of cream — and it was phenomenal. ROBUST, FROTHY, FOAMY, &EXPERTLYBALANCEDFLAVORS. The right amount of cream and sweetness to compliment the strong expresso. I also shared a Caprese sandwich from their Grab-n-Go section, and it was ok. Nothing spectacular like the coffee, but decent enough for a quick bite.

I came here for a quick dinner on a weekday since my church’s weekly bible study would be held here. I was able to find metered street parking quite easily nearby and walked on in. They don’t offer any hot sandwiches, at least in the evening – they told me the sandwiches were made in the morning and are prepackaged and refridgerated. This place is known more for their coffee than their food ;) They offer four sandwiches: Vegan, Apple & Brie, Italian, and Caprese. They are all $ 8.95 except for the Vegan one, which is a dollar more. I got the Caprese: Fresh Mozzarella, Basil Pesto, Tomatoes, and Basil. It was delicious! I also got an iced latte, which was cutely served in a mason jar. I’m not the biggest fan of coffee, but I enjoyed the iced latte. The Classic Coffee is cute, pretty spacious, and nicely decorated. I really liked the interior, especially the wall of potted plants. They have one unisex restroom near the back, and the café also seems attached to a clothing store… maybe? The staff were all friendly and quite accomodating of our large bible study group, which was nice. I wouldn’t mind coming back to this place if I was in the area, but it is pricey and not in a location that I would often visit.

Nice open space that’s not too crowded in downtown — too bad parking is so hard to come by in this area! It is perfect for hanging out with friends or to study with a laptop. Plenty of seating all around. $ 4.50 for a large latte. The coffee bean does have a distinct flavor to it that’s different from the typical chain. I would definitely come to it more often if it was closer to home. The prices here are a bit more than Starbucks, but it is definitely worth that extra bit of change.

Stopped by here very quickly, mistaking it for Spring for Coffee. It turned out to be a great mistake! The first thing you’ll notice upon entering is the beautiful, open space they have. It’s full of natural light and feels bigger than it is thanks to the high ceilings. There’s plenty of space to study or do work, from bar stools to long tables to wall seating with couches. I’d love to come back just to sit and hang around for a while. FASHIONISTA: I tried the Fashionista, which is one of their specials. It’s definitely pricey at about $ 5.40 including tax, though it does come in a large size only. I think this might be my new favorite coffee drink. It’s an iced drink made with a quad-shot of espresso, milk, and a bit of simple syrup. They’ve managed to get the perfect balance on this one. The result is a creamy, intense drink that’s lightly sweetened and avoids being too heavy-handed. I’d highly recommend this place, though I do wish their prices were lower!

TRENDYCOFFEESPOTINDTLA — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — This place is a UO(Urban Outfitters) for coffee. Everything about it — the music, the layout, and the baristas all reminded me of UO branding. DECOR I am obsessed. There is the plant pot wall, where you’ve certainly seen on Instagram, that is the perfect backdrop for your coffee picture. Each wall has a different accented wall — the plant pot wall, a decal wall, and a stairway to a personal relaxation area complete with pillows and a decorative tree. There was a girl chillin’ there, but if she wasn’t I would’ve definitely took up the entire space with my friend. It is THE ideal study or work spot. Make sure to snag that spot as soon as you see it open! The baristas are all male, and certainly all part-time models/actors. Notice how I placed them in the décor section? Yeah. They’re cute and well-dressed. DRINKS + CHAILATTE. Omg get it. + CABALLERO: Double shot of espresso with steamed condensed milk and cinnamon!!! Best creation ever. + SOYLATTE: So strong I was wired the entire day.

Pour over and croissant special for $ 5.25! Bomb deal for bomb coffee and bomb food. The music is a little loud but I was doing some work on my laptop and had my earphones in so it didn’t bother me all that much. Plenty of outlets, which is AWESOME. Staff is all very friendly, and they do a great job of keeping the place super clean. Décor is super cute and I love the wall of plants(as I’m sure everyone does). Glass windows all around means lots of natural light and a sense of openness. Parking is street/metered or paid lot. Difficult but it is DTLA, so it’s expected. All in all, worth the trip!
