I don’t have any complaints about this Subway. Yes, it’s across the street from Pershing Square so, yes, you are going to run into the occasional transient, but overall, I haven’t had a bad experience here. They make my order as I ask and I haven’t had any rude employees come my way. This place is a hot spot for people that work in the area, so it can get busy around noon-ish. Overall, I like it, it does the trick and I get full. They will see me again, for sure.

Most of the time I don’t eat at Subway. but I must say that lately I’ve been on somewhat of a Subway binge. I used to get the chicken breast sub on wheat bread until I finally wised up and thought to myself, «self, this is not chicken. it looks like an albino dish sponge.» So with that in my head I’ve decided that on my last two trips to Subway I would only order a veggie sub and to my surprise it tastes just like the chicken breast sub that I usually order. Is that good? Perhaps it is because that means I can prevent myself from eating that crazy wafer of shit they call chicken. or maybe it’s bad because it just goes to show how bland the aforementioned crazy wafer of shit really tastes. I mean really, the chicken breast is white and looks like a malnourished McRib(if that’s possible). Anyway, I’m sure somehow even the veggie sub at Subway is bad for you — maybe they grow the vegetables in a nuclear radiation plant or something. So after wasting your time I’ll now review Subway. On the corner of Hill and I think 4th Street you’ll find this semi-ghetto Subway. It looks like they’re doing some renovations inside the store and just gave up at one point. The floor looks new and the rest of the facilities are fine, but the ceiling fans are generally at full blast and appear that they could fly off the ceiling at any moment and ruin your Subway eating festival. Not a huge deal really — just wear a helmet if you eat inside. The ceiling looks like it was previously white but it’s being painted black now and you can see all the blue painters tape just flailing in the wind. They could probably a) finish painting or b) remove the painters tape as it just looks tacky. I’m probably the only person who looks at the ceiling of a Subway fast food joint. Regardless, the two subs I’ve eaten have been good and the service here is on par with the rest of this monopoly. I’d recommend this place if you’re on the fence about eating somewhere cheap. Actually, I recommend this place if there’s still sun outside. If it’s nighttime I might reconsider. Anyway, tootles beeches.

Can you screw up something as cookie cutter as Subway? Well this place does. Came in(ashamedly) for a quick bite before work, Sandwich Artist Lizzete was a little rude. The ingredients were leftover from yesterday and parking was a pain. This spot is located across the street from Pershing Square. Sadly, I’m not gonna be coming back. I know they’re near skid row and get some strange patrons, but no reason to be rude to a paying customer that is being polite to you.

This is one of the worst Subway’s I have been to, and it’s not because of the service – it’s the clientele. A lot of sketchy people come here at night and give the workers here hell with their orders, which causes a line and a really long wait. One night, I simply gave up waiting there and walked to the other Subway on 6th St. When I do get the opportunity to get food from here, it’s not bad and it’s consistent with Subway quality. I only get Subway when they are running really good specials or I have coupons for it.

So I’m happy there is a «fast-food» sandwich kinda joint in the neighborhood. I mean Subway is one of those places, you get what you get. Nothing special here. Convenient location assuming you live in the hood — corner of Hill &5th — caddy corner from Pershing Square. The employees are whatever, they have a job and I think thats all they care about. Fair enough though, I probably wouldn’t be too elated working here either. The bread is always bland & hard too. I only come here if I’m in desperate need of a cheap quick bite. Also, it’s decent & mostly clean considering the area and the fact that there are bums roaming around 24⁄7.

To update, this location is now 24 hours. My apartment is right across the street, and I’ve been here about 30 times. This place is pretty bad. While there are a handful of friendly folks who work here — the short woman with glasses, for one, most of the people are definitely on autopilot. And this always leads to incorrect(or almost incorrect) orders. I get the feeling that most of the employees don’t care. Being from Philly, I know what a good hoagie should look and taste like, and while Subway does an okay job on some of them, the overall low food quality, the generally negative customer experience, and store’s lack of cleanliness forces me to give this store a low grade.
Like any other subway, this is just your average subway, only in downtown L.A. This one happens to be just across the street from Pershing Square. Overall, it’s pretty clean, especially since it’s so close to the metro station. You know what you get at every subway. Tasty sammiches!

Cons: — Parking is very difficult to find. — Closes at 7pm. — The area can be a bit sketchy at night.

Sigh! Subway makes me question my choices in life. This chain, like most others, makes sandwiches with bread, some processed(stuff?), sad looking vegetables and a complete and utter lack of love. And it tastes like it. Just observe the disdainful manner in which the workers throw stuff all over the sub: Unevenly and with no attention, the pure hatred for their existence in every question of «white or wheat?»(As if they’re not all wheat anyway). Their depressed lifeless shaking of the salt and pepper, or the way they squirt the mayo-looking substance with a total lack of consistency while they sigh. After eating here, I feel like I want to set my priorities straight and set new goals. How did I get here? Where am I going? What is the point of my life? There are all questions that I asked myself while eating this sad, lifeless, limp impersonation of a sandwich. More than a sandwich store, it feels like you’ve just eaten lunch in prison camp. You can either look the other way or try to raise awareness: «Free Subway! Free Subway!»

Fast Subway and great people. Never had a bad sub here and I eat here quite often. It will be even more faster when they finally fix the other counter. As long as you do not get stuck behind someone ordering subs for the entire office building.

This is the most average subway in every way but one: they seem to have no order. There were four people there ordering food, but people weren’t lining up, they were just crowding the counter. The staff seemed disoriented as well, with forgetting about some of the 4 orders at hand. They got mine right, but I can tell that the girls in front of me were frustrated that the staff. Overall it’s pretty well maintained, and it seems like they replaced their broken window pretty swiftly.

This place is right across the street from my place, so I duck in often when I’m too lazy to make my own dinner. Taste-wise they’re a typical Subway in every possible way, and they’re pretty average in terms of cleanliness. They only get three stars, however, because they’ve never been fast. Whether there is one person or three in front of me, I don’t feel like I’ve ever gotten out of here quickly… I’m not sure why, it just seems that nobody working here hustles very quickly when they’re working, compared to other Subways. Still, it’s convenient and cheap, and therefore I’ll be back. Just not when I’m in a hurry.

Beware downtowners! I ate here only once and learned my lesson. Ordered a tuna sandwich and when I got it home, FOUND A METALBOLT in my sandwich. Gross! Took it back and the manager acted like I had the plague. Refunded my money but made no apology. Stay away!

This location was actually cleaner than I expected it to be with it in the midst of downtown. As far as Subway restaurants, they are okay but I can’t say they have a sandwich which wows me with it’s taste.
