Best bar is Westwood! The bartenders are awesome and always provide great service. All of the beer comes in great deals, and pitchers are extremely cheap. If you coming during happy hour or UCLA games, the deals get even better. Until I graduate from UCLA, I know that Sepi’s will always be the bar for me.

I have to admit… My favorite part about Sepi’s is the wooden bear they have outside with a UCLA Bruins hat on it. It’s freakishly adorable. That said, Sepi’s is a nice little sports bar to hang out in. It’s not crazy like the now defunct O’Hara’s or Barney’s Beanery. It’s a pretty quaint and comfortable place that is great for having a conversation with your buddies as you enjoy a drink or maybe a sandwich. I’ve had a few great talks here over the reasonable pitchers, and I’ve tried their pastrami sandwich when I was super hungry and it isn’t half bad. The employees here are always cordial, which sets the mood for an overall nice atmosphere. If you’re of legal age, Sepi’s is pretty gosh darn solid and the best Westwood has in terms of casual bars. I’m sure I’ll be back just to chill with friends. And for that awesome bear.

Food is very underwhelming. I should’ve known when I walked in and didn’t see a kitchen. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken meat was basically microwaved chicken nuggets. The turkey avocado wrap my boyfriend had had one layer of cold cut turkey and the rest being bean sprouts. I love bean sprouts, but I could barely taste the turkey! The waitress nicely took it off my bill since I only had two bites of it. The only good thing about this place is the cheap beer. Eat food elsewhere beforehand.

Sepi’s isn’t a particularly exciting place in Westwood, but it is a good place to grab a bite to eat or watch a UCLA game on the TV. Sepi’s isn’t really a bar, because it’s too small to be a bar, but it kind of has a sports bar feel to it. The TVs are always set to UCLA or Los Angeles games, and you can order a beer and some sandwiches while you watch. Sepi’s is rarely full unlike the other few bars around the area, but if you are looking to have a conversation with friends or just quietly enjoy a bite to eat or have a quick drink, Sepi’s is as good as any bar in Los Angeles. It isn’t glamorous from the outside, but some of the best places I’ve tried don’t have to be.

The food was pretty underwhelming. I got the sepi’s salad and the quesadilla appetizer and was disappointed by both. Quesadilla didn’t really look or taste like quesadilla– it was basically tortilla with some unmelted cheese and some meat in between. The salad was ok– could have used some more dressing and wasn’t as fresh as I wanted. The beers were pretty good though! The waitress was super nice and the seats were perfectly facing the TV!

Wow. Just amazing. A Ucla classic with memorabilia from some historic athletic teams. Great hometown vibe with the best staff and great pitchers! –Len out

I’m always on the look out for good happy hours. the prices here for drinks are already great so the happy hour did not matter as much to me. I ordered the grapefruit shandy for $ 6 and then the rootbeer! The rootbeer was delicious and they served it in the bottle instead of the glass! It’s a great place to go for a drink and watch the game!

Came here for a UCLA football game and let me tell you I wasn’t disappointed. Got a great spot at the bar. Ambience is perfect for a football game. Enough people crazy about the game but not too loud so at least you can talk to people next to you. I got a BBQ Sub. It was delicious. They were nice enough to let me stay and watch the whole game. Definitely recommend!

You know, sometimes you just want a beer and a sandwich. And more and more it’s getting harder to find. Luckily if you’re in the Westwood village you can still find this at Sepi’s. I usually order either a pastrami or the Westwood. And always with a beer. The sandwiches are meaty, crusty, they don’t skimp on the portion size, and the veggies are light and crisp. A nice touch is the hot sauces at the tables. Never thought about putting hot sauce on a sandwich before, but it works really well here, especially if you wash it down with a big glass of beer. The selection for brew is pretty good. Something for everyone. Cora light for the college kids who haven’t figured out what real beer is, and arrogant bastard for the more refined palates. Prices are pretty good. You’ll get your brew and sandwich fix for under $ 20. They’re not open too late, so go early. And it does get a little noisy because it is a UCLA fan sports bar. A solid 4 stars from me.

Sepi’s is one of those places that isn’t very big, easy to pass by, but it packs a big punch with all that they have to offer. Their happy hour starts at 4:00pm and pretty much ends when they close; although, the deals change, so make sure to ask your server. During my visit, I ordered the 6-inch Simple Sub with ham and salami without tomatoes or onions and a Pacifico to wash it down. The sandwich had a lot of flavor, maybe a little too much. My sandwich was pretty thick and it had a lot of meat and veggies. Unfortunately, the ham, salami, provolone, and sweet bell peppers in the sandwich were overpowered by the taste of the red wine vinegar dressing that seeped through the bread. I thought about asking for no red wine vin when I asked for no tomatoes and onions, but I just went along with it to see how it would taste. Don’t get me wrong, I like Italian dressing or a nice red wine vin on my salad and maybe a little on my sandwich to add flavor, but it wouldn’t take much for a sandwich if I wanted to retain the other flavors in the ingredients. That is where the Simple Sub moved from simple to complicated. On the other hand, the Pacifico that I ordered worked well with the explosion of flavors from the vin and the hidden flavors of the ham and salami. Go light with your beer when ordering this sandwich. Overall, my visit was pleasant. My server was a very polite young lady and the sandwich maker was just as polite. The price was reasonable for the sandwich and the happy hour price for the draft beer was competitive. I can see myself going to Sepi’s again. Except next time, I’ll have to try a different sandwich.

If you’re going to visit UCLA, stop here at some point to check out the history. You get a feel that Sepi’s is a landmark. Nice bar, great cozy feel, great service. You are treated like family from the moment you walk in the door. Foodwise, excellent sandwiches that don’t break the bank. I’d skip Fat Sal’s or the rip off trendy spots and get the good stuff here. Ordered half turkey, half roast beef on one of their good rolls… topped with their salad is awesome! There’s way more to try… I look forward to checking out more of the menu.

Small but cozy sports bar to grab some grub and drinks. It’s cool how Sepi’s uses the open space to have a visual kitchen connected to the bar. Great atmosphere to watch a sports game with a group of friends or solo. There’s some cool wall signs to check out too.

Oh, man, oh, man! First, and probably the greatest thing about this place(though there are many great things), is the wonderful and fabulous one-man-show behind the counter, Pancho. You feel as if you’re a guest in his home and he is there to cater to your every whim. Next, the taps: Greenflash. Allagash White. Stone. Lagunitas. Perfection, basically. And note that these are all on tap, dear Unilocalers, not bottled. UH-maze! Seriously, if they threw in a Pliny tap I’d ask if I could rent out the back and change my name to Patsy Stone. The sandwiches: Sooooo delish. Just enough to help mop up your pints of beer but not too much. Crispy bacon, fresh avocados… of course I told my man Pancho about the Kewpie mayo to make his tuna salad sing. I think I’ll bring him a bottle, actually, so then he can see for himself the Louis Vuitton mayo difference.(I realize putting Bernard Arnault’s #1 cash cow and mayo in the same sentence may seem sacrilege at first but that’s only because you’ve probably never tasted Japanese Kewpie mayo.) This particular Sunday just happened to be the F1 race in Monaco, and when I inquired if Pancho could check the stations for me, of course he put it on. I think I just mentioned it in passing, actually, and the next thing I saw was Will Buxton running around the grid interviewing teams right before the greatest show on earth. If you’re not able to secure a spot on Philip Green’s yacht for the race, than I say Sepi’s is the next best thing!

I liked the Westwood(or was it Bruin) Club. It had sprouts in it and cream cheese and Turkey. I added the Louisiana hot sauce(tastes like buffalo sauce) and it was PERFECT! Don’t know if I would like the sandwich without it anymore. They have a decent beer selection too. Not a lot of beers, but the ones they do have cover a lot of ground in terms of variety. This is a good spot to watch sports since there are tv’s all over and they are always keen on which games are playing that day(be it hockey, soccer, basketball, or football).

Yum! Just tried the turkey bacon sub and it was delicious. Fresh avocados, really crispy bacon, and lots of turkey. Bread was toasted so that was a nice extra touch. Only thing is that the cold cuts were really salty. It’s not the cheapest for the size of the sub you get but its pretty good!

It took me 5 years to step foot into Sepi’s and I’m a little disappointed in myself that I have not tried this place sooner. I walked in here because the bar area at Barney’s was crowded – I just wanted to watch some ESPN and grab a beer. I liked that Sepi’s was not crowded and had such a chill vibe. Plus, their UCLA memorabilia is awesome. Their tap list is not super impressive, but they had Lagunitas IPA($ 4.50), Green Flash West Coast IPA($ 6), and Bear Republic Racer 5IPA($ 5), all at very reasonable prices. The guy working solo on Saturday afternoon was a sweetheart; I think his name was Luis, according to the receipt. He checked up on me regularly and we talked about UCLA and sports. It was nice to have a genuine conversation as opposed to other servers/bartenders being way too busy to chat. I stayed for a good hour plus watching the Little League World Series. I had a pint of Racer 5 and Green Flash, wasn’t anticipating to eat, but ended up getting a Hot Pastrami. Food was not bad – I would have liked the pastrami to be sliced more thinly. As I was approaching the end of my meal, another server came to take over the shift. We talked beer and it was very cool since he is from the Bay Area like I am and knew a lot about beer. Steven/Stephen was his name and he’s there Saturdays. Cool guy. I’ll be back. Easily.

If you’re looking for a cleaner, simpler, healthier alternative to Fat Sal’s, Sepi’s may be your answer. Their subs come in two sizes — either the regular 6″ or giant 12″. The prices are rather standard for the neighborhood, so expect to pay ~$ 10 for a meal. They have a happy hour running from 7pm-11pm daily which means cheap $ 2-$ 4 beers, nachos, and quesadillas. My friend and I ran in last night to escape the rain, and we sat ourselves at the bar in front of one of the many TVs. The waitress didn’t seem to mind, and she happily handed us a menu. She kept a friendly demeanor from start to finish, and when we had informed her we were going to split a giant Westwood, our sub was cut into fourths. Smart woman. A giant was a little bigger than expected. When you go to Subways, you get a sloppy, deflated mess. When you go to Sepi’s, you get a nicely put together, stuffed sub with a crispy bun. Although they overdid the sprouts, it was still a tasty sub — the bacon was crispy, the turkey was moist, and there was plenty of avocados. I had ordered a potato salad as a side to make it a combo(+$ 3 for a drink and a side), and I would imagine it’d be the perfect mix for a meal. The potato salad was creamy and full of flavor, but I will admit the serving was about the size of my palm. It was unfortunate that I couldn’t have it with my sub because the waitress had completely forgotten about it until my friend mentioned it to her and by that time, I had already finished my portion of the sub. Sepi’s is a great choice if you’re looking for an affordable meal at a sit-down place, and the atmosphere is one that would be great for a smaller get-together when there’s a game on. It’s seems like a rather low-key sports bar, but it has its charm.
