If you’re looking for a delicious and affordable place to go, then this is the place. I definitely appreciate that this is walking distance from UCLA and that there’s a student discount as well.(So, don’t forget to show your ID!) I ordered the chicken falafel and added a lot of different vegetables in them. I went after class, so I got there around 6 ish on a Wednesday. I was lucky enough to not even wait in a line. The only downfall was that there’s not really a lot of seating. I want to say that there’s probably only 3 or 4 seats facing the street and I did wait longer than I expected for the food to come out. However, I don’t think these are any bit detrimental to my review because I would definitely come back here again.

Based on the reviews, I ordered. Its a hole in the wall(nothing against them as long as the food is great). I ordered lamb pita and I thought it was just ok. I was not sure about what sauces to add and as they are not labelled, took a swab and added a few.

The chicken wowshi is delicious. So many toppings that you can add on. And don’t forget the garlic sauce!

I’m sorry to do this– but really had a terrible experience here. First off, I walked in and it smelled like a dirty rag towel they just used to clean down the counters. That made me loose my appetite but I still wanted to give them a chance. The place is super small with barely any room to sit and eat. If there is more than 4 people in there you are out of luck. I ordered the chicken Wowshi which I guess is there most famous dish here. I paid $ 10 for a sandwich that was just bread and a few pieces of chicken. They were extremely stingy with the amount of chicken they put in my sandwich. I went over to the bar to add my condiments and there is a sign that you can only use the bar once. REALLY? The lettuce and tomatoes cost them cents! They are charging me $ 10 for a sandwich and a bar I can only use once? I found that to be an extremely cheap move on their end. They don’t give you a plate(because they don’t want you putting any of the condiments on a plate) and instead give your sandwich in a paper wrapper. As I was eating my sandwich, everything was falling out and onto the counter. I had to go and get napkins and lay them out like a plate for myself so that I was able to eat like a human being. I felt so dirty eating here. The food really isn’t all that great and I had wished I spent my money elsewhere. Too many other good places in the area to eat to ever have to come here.

That was really good! Had the falafel on wowshi bread… It was very good. The falafel is fresh and the closest to Ariana’s in Tarzana that I gave my best rating towards. Now this is a great bread that they serve toasted hot fresh off the oven! They have good fries/frozen, but decent oil is used, a nd they are a nice cut. The ingredient bar as the blended veggies which works great for the sandwich. The Tahin dressing is lacking tahin flavor, but that can be improved. Also the sauces are in a bad setup. When you squirt them, they get tiny specks of dressing on you from the squeeze bottles, so watch out for that! They can improve the ingredient bar with a different method of dispensing the sauces. The cucumbers can be chopped smaller, and same with the tomatos. It is hard to put them in the sandwich. See my other Falafel reviews for what maybe best for your preferences. This place is super small with only a few chairs against the window with a narrow bar table that you can sit at. Otherwise take out. I also had the couliflower, and adding the lemon dressing which is what it needs was something a MUSTTRY if you have not before. When in Westwood and looking for mideast eats, and your NOT looking to sit down… THis is as good as it gets! I asked for well done fries, and they were needed about another 30sec to a minute. Not sure if they have a timer setup for the measure of fries, or they do it by eye, but something to consider.

One of my favorite Middle eastern food spots I’ve ever been to. Food is always fresh and great. Don’t know any other place that’s makes Their own pita bread per order! That’s fresh. However on the down side wish they would serve on plates! Rather then Serve n go.

Every university town has its own jewel, a hole in the wall known to few, a well kept secret that no foreigners dare to explore. Westwoods well kept secret is Bella Pita. I’ve discovered it during my days at UCLA and Whooooly crap, do they know how to make Mediterranean food taste like pure heavenly angel food. My old favorite, lamb pita — there was just something so indescribable, the texture of that lamb was unlike any other I’ve had, so inviting, so well seasoned, perfectly timed on that hot plate. And my new favorite, falafel wowshi… look, I’ve had many a falafels, all over Southern California. No falafel compares to Bella Pita falafel. It is maddening how good this stuff is, my family and I sometimes make the trip from OC(60ish miles) just to get a fix. It’s hard to recommend a thing. Get everything, go there more than once, there is literally nothing you can order that won’t blow your mind away.

I have to be honest, I’ve been here more often than I’ve been to any other restaurant in Westwood. Sadly, it has not been for me, but rather for my boyfriend, who constantly craves Chicken Wowshis as a late-night snack. So, from the perspective of someone who visits there often but hasn’t tried too many menu options, Bella Pita has established itself very close to the heart of many hungry UCLA students looking for a healthier late-night snack than the Fat Sal’s next door. My boyfriend and I have locked onto to the Chicken Wowshis and French fries as our go-to meal, but there are options for beef, lamb, vegetarian, and chicken pretty much equally. The selling point is the salad bar, however. I’ve found it always clean and freshly-stocked with a variety of vegetables and sauces. Our recipe for success is three chicken wowshis and two french fries between the two of us. Each chicken wowshi comes with two pieces, so you always tend to over-order :) Really, Really Spicy Sauce and Garlic Sauce mixed with a healthy dose of onions and lettuce is what I usually make, with two sauce cups of the two sauces for the fries. Magic for him. EVERY. TIME. I’m just so happy that Bella Pita makes him very happy. They may be the reason we’ll stay in LA forever: P

Great taste. Loved it. Chicken wowshi is really WOW! Worth my money :) All the items are made fresh in an open kitchen. Falafel is really good too and with the assortment of sauces you can get different tastes for each wrap. Definitely worth visiting :)

Bella Pita is a must when you’re around UCLA or in Westwood. Even if you’re not hungry, you HAVE to get this. Back when I was in college(oh boy, that makes it sound like I’m old), these delicious pitas used to use for $ 7, but now they had to update their shop, get plasmas to display their menu and raise their prices by a $ 1… regardless, I’m coming back here everytime I am in the area. It’s a must! I was looking back at the price at 4 years ago these pitas were only $ 4.50. wtheck! Environment — It’s a small store front located next to «In n Out». Once you see the place, you’re going to think, «oh man, this place must be good because it’s a hole in the wall!». Well, good news, you’re right! Once you enter, there are 4 seats along the window for you to sit if you decide to not stand out on the streets to eat. You would order your food from one of the two workers and then proceed to the right to put on your ingredients after a few minutes the workers take to make your pita. Service — although the workers have few words to say, they sure can get an order right! Food — basically any meat you get will be good and you won’t regret it. My go-to’s are the burger wowshi and the chicken. These meats come at the bottom of two halves of a pita and you have the freedom to put whatever fresh ingredients you can to the right of the counter. Really, packing these ingredients in is an art it itself. I’ve seen people do layers where the alternate between sauce and veggiest, you can do veggies first and then sauce, or sauce and then veiggies… this is how i do it… 1) White sauce+hummus 2) red onions 3) White sauce 4) The mix(tomato, red onions, and cilantro(or some green ingredient) 5) White sauce+hummus 6) Red onions 7) Lettuce 8) White sauce Basically, when I make my pita, It is #noshame GETBELLAPITA.

I once ate at this place 4 meals in a row. This is my first review of Bella Pita, but probably my twentieth or thirtieth check-in. Consistent cheap deliciousness. Most of my life is spent on that stretch of Gayley between Le Conte and Weyburn(Top Leaf to Gushi, but especially Bella Pita), so trust me on this: — Get the fried cauliflower. — Take advantage of the metal pita holders provided on the counter. — When stuffing your wowshi, do it one half at a time so you can inflate them into food balloons. — You can always ask for a glass of water. — You can bring vegetarian and vegan friends here. — Be 10⁄10 courteous to the awesome staff, who are happy to let you study on their tiny counter space if you come in at a slow time. — The hummus and sauces bar is incredible. Drown everything in it. And I can’t exactly blame them for not providing Wifi, since I’d never leave if they did. Tl;dr: Zero complaints.

Falafel pita! It was delicious! I stopped by after extensively searching Unilocal for something light with no meat. I’ve walked by this place numerous times but never even noticed it. I always look up menus beforehand because I take forever to decide. I went with the falafel pita. It comes pretty plain just the pita and three pieces of falafel. It was nice and fresh. The toppings bar was best! You can top it with whatever but you can only go once according to the sign. My pita wasn’t big enough for my toppings! But it was still nice to put what I wanted in my pita. Their hot sauce it pretty spicy! The falafel itself was one of the best I’ve had actually. Next time I’d probably just get a falafel come because the falafel is something I crave now!

Bella Pita is an average pita place, minus the fact that it’s open super late. Note: Spend the extra dollar and get a wowshi rather than the pita – wowshi’s are baked fresh to order, while the pitas aren’t. Also if you aren’t starving, the wowshi’s are definitely big enough to share.

I forgot how good this place was. The wowshi earned its wow. Freshly baked bread, chewy, fluffy, delicious. I got falafel and shoved as many toppings as possible. The garlic sauce is key. I also liked the pepperoncinis. Wish there was one closer to me, and yes I live in Santa Monica and I’m lazy as hell. The only negative of this place is how dirty it is. Yes it’s a hole in the wall. But there was a half eaten sandwich on the counter with some wet«stuff» on the other side, who knows what it was. However the bread is so good that I can’t stop myself from coming back.

Above average falafel shop with very little seating and zero parking in busy Westwood Village. Street parking is tough to find. If you don’t mind springing for $ 7 or $ 8, try one of the private parking lots a block or two away. I only tried their falafel in a pita and it was excellent. Rather than put the condiments on themselves, there is a condiment bar with hummus, tahini, veggies, and 3 or 4 other addons. Open late, til something like 2am! I will definitely be back to try other items on their menu.

This gem is hidden away between Le Conte and Weyburn on Gayley. If you aren’t that familiar with the street names, let me spell it out for you: somewhere next to In-n-Out. Although this Mediterranean place is tiny, it packs a huge punch, especially in the condiments section! The first time I came here, I ordered the chicken wowshi. I’m not exactly sure how to describe it, but it’s a bunch of chicken stuffed inside some steaming hot pita bread. You get two for around $ 7. At first it may not seem like a lot of food, but before you start feeling ripped off, you have to visit the holy condiments bar. I say that because it is sacrilege to not visit this section. You have your various veges, tomatoes, lettuce, the usual. And then you have the sauces. The white sauce is like heaven in a squeeze bottle. The humus, beautiful and always leaving you wanting more. And don’t forget the tahini as well! Since you get two slices of pita bread, I recommend you try two entirely different concoctions. You know, make that conservative one to first test out the waters, and then go wild on your second one and stuff that baby till it’s as big as your face. The only thing that I have a problem with is just how cramped it is inside. There are literally 3 or 4 bar stools and that’s it. The amount of floor space inside fits around 5 people(but 10 people manage to squeeze in at every given moment). This makes eating inside pretty much uncomfortable unless you are the only one there. Even though I was the only one there, they still somehow made me feel cramped when the employees had to come out from behind the counter and clean up the area. Great place to try if you haven’t, but be prepared to eat it elsewhere.

Undergrad memories. So many. All wonderful. The falafel is my favorite one — no question. While the lamb and the chicken are good, there is something about those crispy chickpeas that is absolutely magical. It’s a great deal no matter what you get and the line moves at a relatively quick pace. It’s sometimes the better option than waiting for Fat Sal’s or Tommy Taco’s(hey all these options are delicious. Do not get me wrong.) The best advice I can give is that you have to master the art(and science) of putting on the right amount of toppings and sauce for each bite without over stuffing the pita. BP does not do refills. Bella Pita is a godsend. And for the money, it’s probably the best quality dank grub you can find around UCLA. That’s especially true when In-N-Out’s line is too ridiculous, which is always the case. I’ve tried only a few things like the chicken wowshi, basterma wowshi, falafel cone, and fried cauliflower. The chicken wowshi is solid, you really couldn’t go wrong with it. The basterma is not bad by any means, but it’s only okay to me because I’m not too big of a fan of dry cured beef. I prefer my proteins thick and juicy, which is why I can’t wait to try their steak pita and lamb pita. Their falafel is the best falafel I’ve had, but take that with a grain of salt because I really don’t ever eat them. That’s because I haven’t tried any that I liked until now, so this place has converted me. The fried cauliflower is such a tasty appetizer. Even though this place has fries, I still go with the cauliflower every single time. Though the food is good, what really makes the place truly amazing is their sauce bar. Their garlic sauce, really really hot sauce, and herb dressing are so dank. The hummus is pretty good too, even though I’ve never been much of a hummus guy in the past. If I had any gripes on Bella Pita, it would be that their seating arrangements suck and it only takes a few people in there to make it feel really cramped. Couldn’t blame them considering the location though. If you’re looking for value and somewhere to curb your munchies late at night, look no further. I’m only ever around because my girlfriend goes to UCLA, but when I am, this is a staple of ours for any time of the day. Also I think it’s so cool that it was opened by a professor at UCLA. If this was in Monterey Park, I’d probably singlehandedly keep the place in business.

I LOVETHISPLACE! This place is seriously the reason why I fell in love with Mediterranean food. The only thing I have ordered here is the lamb plate. It’s so good with the salad that’s added on to it. The lamb meat isn’t dry at all and goes perfectly with the rice. The salad bar is amazing for the price they charge. They also have great sauces that tastes great. I love the really really hot sauce(literally that’s what it’s called) because it’s actually hot and tasty. This place is very small so people usually get take out!

So recently I stayed around UCLA area pretty late and more than half of restaurants in Westwood were closed after 10PM on weekday(e.g. TLT Food, Noodle World, Ike’s Place, Yamato, Open Oven Pizzeria, Bibigo, Chipotle, Five Guys, California Pizza Kitchen, Onkei Ramen, etc). At the same time, I didn’t want something that’s really heavy(e.g. In-N-Out, 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria, Fat Sal’s, Gushi, Enzo’s, etc.) … just right before I was about to give up, Bella Pita came up on my Unilocal search results … ooooo 2AM closing time? Time to give this place a try! Bella Pita is a small joint located between In-N-Out and Fat Sal’s. Interesting fact — UCLA Professor Medy Sanadidi(who specialized in computer science) founded Bella Pita in 2007( ). In addition to this original location, there are also two other branches in Los Angeles(one near USC and one near the intersection of Westwood Blvd & Santa Monica Blvd). Menu: You really only have two main options: pitas or wowshis(pocket-size pita dough stuffed with your choice of fillings). After you receive your order, feel free to customize your pita or wowshis by stuffing as much vegetables & sauces as you want at the salad /condiment station. Condiments: Thaina, hot sauce, really hot sauce, white sauce, herbal dressing, olive oil, hommos, and lemon dressing. *** Chicken Wowshis(chicken seasoned with herbs & spices, $ 6.50): Wowshis(I know what you are thinking, but it is not wowsh*t) = two pieces of ½ size pocket-size pita breads! I thought chicken was savory and I also really liked most of sauces at the condiment bar. If I had to pick my favorite sauces, I would pick garlic sauce and hot sauce. *** It is a shame that I didn’t know Bella Pita existence until now. This is not a place where you can sit down and enjoy your food(only 3 ~ 4 seats). However, if you are a college student on a budget or you are just looking for healthy Mediterranean late night dinner /snacks, then this place is for YOU. P. S. — Minimum $ 20 for delivery with additional $ 5&10% service charge. 10% discount for students.

My friend introduced me to Bella Pita and I’ve been a fan ever since. The tragedy is that it was my last month of college and I have long since moved back home… I guess we were not meant to be together for very long :’( I always get the turkey pita and its delicious. It’s a marinated ground turkey patty which sounds gross but trust me, it’s juicy and flavorful. There’s a condiment bar where you can add various sauces and veggies to your pita. The sauces are SOGOOD. I recommend squeezing in the garlic sauce+white sauce+hummus, adding your veggies over that, and then a last splash of lemon. Tip: putting your sauces in first will prevent a messy eating experience. From reading other Unilocal reviews, it sounds like the other items on the menu are good too but I had such good experiences with the turkey pita… that I don’t think I’ll be trying something new anytime soon. Also, how many ways can you spell sauce?(See photo below)
