Price reasonable, service was good, we came in 10:30 pm and they close at 11 pm. We were told that a big party is coming, so they had to take our orders faster. We ordered kobideh combo and a regular kobideh. We got surprised on how fast the food arrived, it didn’t even take 10 minutes and our entrees were right on the table. We got worried, if the food was old. The meat was a bit tasteless, same as for the chicken. We got even more disappointed when the so called«big party» never showed up. We truly understand that you close at 11 pm, but please don’t rush your customers.

I’m from Iran and I consider myself an avid kabob-eater. I have tried a wide variety of places across southern and even Northern California. I think I know what I’m talking about. As a general advice, when you try a new place, it’s safer to go with Barg rather than koobideh which can be a little inconsistent even at very reputable places like Raffi’s in Glendale. We visited Flame very unplanned and we have never been here before. Our first choice for a casual meet up was closed today. We ordered Barg kabob, baghali-polo(dill and Lima bean rice) with meat and Zereshk polo(barberry rice) with chicken. Quality of food was great. Meat was prepared very tender and juicy. Rice also was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The missing star from my rating was dropped for slightly subpar presentation. Usually Persian cuisine, especially kabob MUST come with fresh herbs(basil is standard), grilled veggies(some sort of pepper) and onion. Ours only had grilled tomatoes. I’m not sure if they were out of those things or simply forgot to bring them. I could have asked but honestly, those sides are as essential as bread or salt. Again, food was amazing. Appetizer(we ordered kashk-e-bademjan, AKA eggplant dip) and yogurt drink were very flavorful also. Service was timely and attentive. Definitely recommend to friends and will visit again in future.

This restaurant was recommended by my accountant who is Persian as one of THEBEST Persian restaurants in West Los Angeles. She was not wrong. Food and service were wonderful. I will be back!

I haven’t had decent Persian food in a while until this place. The joojeh kabob(chicken) was very delicious, kheily khoshmasast, my dad got the barg and enjoyed it very much! This is rare, he is Azeri and grew up with the best food. This is my go to from now on(Raffi’s Place is overrated). 1. Food bah bah cant wait to try other entrees 2. Service was fantastic! On New Years too, very attentive. 3. New Years is my bday, came here, and before leaving they surprised me with a candle on a bastani nooni Thanks guys

As an honorary Persian, this kabob, out of the thousands of kabob places in LA, is really great. The koobideh or ground beef or lamb kabob is super good, seasoned with lots of ground onion and grilled to juicy perfection. The lamb chengeh kabob offers a delectable, tender plate of lamb. The plain, saffron basmati rice is buttery, nutty and delicious– perfect, simple, Persian rice. The other rices are spectacular as well. My favorite is the lubia polo, rice with green beans, chopped meat, potato and carrots, which has a smokey flavor because of the cinnamon used to flavor the dish. The tahgid or crispy rice from the bottom of the pan with crispy potato served with khoresht gheymeh, a tomato based, braised lamb stew with persian lentils are fantastic. Their bread is homemade in a tandoor or pit stone oven. EXCELLENTKABOB(emphasis on the«ka»).

I never had such bad uncooked meet before and once I rolled our waitress she pretty much didn’t want to take it off our bill… Save your money and got to darya or Javan instead…

Good food, but the service was quite spotty. Also, the décor is a bit tatty. Stained chairs are a turnoff.

I work near this Resturant and it has the best Persian food around here. I live in the valley and none of the restaurants have the quality and taste of flame. Deliver is fast and reasonable. Not to mention their freshly made bread which is to die for. Great Persian food even if you are Persian you will the same

I recently moved here from New York and found this place online. Since I am Persian and I love Persian food, I decided to take out my parents here. Only thing I was not satisfied with was the service from our waiter. He kept making weirdest jokes, I’m not sure if he is trying to be a comedian or maybe he is retarded. He was a big guy, you’ll see him when you go there — try to ignore him and make sure he is not your waiter.

I’m editing my review. I’ve eaten here a few more times and have to say that I’ve only had one good experience when I had this food delivered to the office. Lately, I’ve had some issues: Pink, undercooked chicken kabobs. Yuck. Staff are a little rude. Particularly the hostess. Not a terrible place, but not worth the money you spend here. They have another location, maybe I’ll check it out.

Unfortunately the food is not of quality. Being a fan of Persian food, I thought this place was mediocre. We ordered 3 diff dishes including Ash Reshteh, koobideh, chicken koobideh, «filet» as they like to call it and they were all tasteless and lacking flavor/spices. It had a chewy plain taste to it. The service was good and the waiters were very sweet. Parking was ok. Prices are too high for the quality.

The barg is good, the location is convenient on Westwood. Service was great. The Tahdig was not that good. The Ghorma sabzi was mediocre at best, and for the price $ 23 the Soltani was average. For the price and location I expected better.

Today I was in Westwood area so for lunch I decided to go to Flame. I like their food and the service is always friendly. I ordered the Tahchin with lamb(which I thought was a bit salty for my taste). It came with a side of salad with a yummy dressing. We also ordered a barg and koobideh combo. The portions are big and is great to be shared. For 3 of us, 2 portions were plenty and we still had some leftovers. The service was nice and fast. Our water cups were filled quickly w/o us asking which is always nice! They also bring you freshly baked bread with butter! Yummmmmm…

Service continues to be great. Lamb continues to be amazing. The chicken barg is a solid second place. Depending on the night, the beef chengeh is either amazing or okay, so stick to the top two. Bonus: Cans of soda are now $ 2.50 rather than $ 3.50, which is annoying but no longer egregious. Pro tip: Ask for your bread«double toasted». It takes the already delicious mast o khiar to another level.

I was introduced to Persian food in 1983 by my close friend in college. I’d study at her home on weekends and her mother cooked. When I later lived in NYC she and I would eat at places like Persepolis and Patoug so, my standards are high. The food here is absolutely fantastic. I came in alone on March 4th and as it was my first time wanted to sample some favorites. I ordered the Kashke-e-bademjan, the tourshi, and the Flames Soltani Kebab(with the Adas Polo rice: dates, raisins, saffron, and lentils) for dinner. For dessert I didn’t even ask if they had it … I ordered my favorite, Falloodeh. For eating alone, I had a very happy dinner. The staff were all very friendly as well. I had a whole other meal worth of leftovers to take home. Among my friends everyone is all about Koreatown, Little Tokyo, and all the Mexican food on the Eastside of L.A. but it seems this wonderfully rich cultural experience that is the Persian community(the largest outside Iran) gets overlooked. Flame has some of the best, true, Persian cuisine in L.A. I will definitely be back!

I finally made my way here after my mom kept raving about it. She swears it is the best kabob in Los Angeles. Came here with my family on a Sunday night and had no wait. Wait staff was attentive and very friendly. I recommend ordering the Chenjeh kabob. Their beef chenjeh is chewy and flavorful. Ordering it with salad is a good option if you are trying to go for that low-carb lifestyle. They also provide complimentary bread that is freshly baked. I tried their boneless chicken kabob and it tasted good too. I would definitely come back here if I am craving chenjeh kabob. You can’t really go wrong with most of the Persian restaurants in the Westwood area(Persian Square). Thanks Flame!

I would call this very decent Persian comfort food situated right in Little Persia/Persian Square. It will hit the spot, taste good and will not leave you hungry. And if you know anyone Persian in all of SoCal, you will likely run into them when dining here! I ordered the Cornish Hen kebab plate. The meat was only a hair overdone(but perfectly delicious with great seasonings). One friend ordered the slices of beef(meh — the meat was chewy) but our other friends ordered the filet mignon slices which was VERY good. The plates come with heaps and heaps of rice. PROTIP: Order the tadig. Theirs is very good and comes with crispy potatoes, sort of a rarity. This restaurant does groups very, very well. Looking around the restaurant, I saw families of at least 6 people, usually 10 – 12 people dining together. Food comes out quickly and the servers are pretty on it. This is a local fave among the Persians I know. On a Sunday evening there was pretty easy street parking.

The service was beyond tremendous. Easily 5 stars. The prices were a bit high — bang for the buck I’d put in the 2⁄3 range. Food taste was solid, if unspectacular. 3 stars. Some more details: We ate here on a weeknight in a group of 4. The waiter was excellent all night, always double-checking on ingredients for those of us with food allergies, and providing check-ins, water refills, fresh pita/bread to go with our dishes. They also took the Unilocal!coupon but didn’t make us «cash» it in, so we could come back and use it another time. He got one item wrong so he brought us a bonus order of the berry rice(I forget the real name) as an apology. Really well done — love the above and beyond effort, here. The food itself was alright, as mentioned. My wife got a lamb stew which had a colossal shank in it. It was really a sight to behold. I got the chicken kebab, which was about what I expected and remembered from similar restaurants. The spice was decent — probably a bit on the dry side as far as a final preparation goes. We had the appetizer which, again, the actual name eludes me, includes a host of fresh greens and goat cheese. You are to use these items in the fresh pita to make small sandwiches of herbs. A nice way to freshen the breath, but not really my cup of tea in terms of meal items. Give it a go — I think most folks have a different palate on stuff like this than me. It’s a very nice restaurant: lovely interior with neat pictures and pleasant décor. I did have one minor complaint on the table/chairs — the chairs are a little less than superb and the table is covered in a paper(instead of cloth). That’s fine — it’s easier to clean, but I got a paper-cut of all things. Hah!

I’ve never have to wait to get seated. Kabob is good. Prices are aright. Over all good – nothing terribly special or memorable. FYI: First time check in 10% off bill.
