The Girl That Works There Has a Terrible Bitchy Attitude I ordered pick up at about 9:40pm and arrived about 10:21pm to pick it up. Mind you, they take a while to prepare, so I was timing it pretty reasonably. Girl who was sweeping up the place gave me a dirty look, as if I shouldn’t come in… I said«I’m here to pick up my order?» She got my food, turned back to me and said«Can you show up before 10:20 next time?» I stared at her, confused. «Don’t you guys close at 10:30?» She goes«No, we actually close at 10:20» «Well, everywhere says 10:30, even all those brochures you distribute say 10:30.» She just continued to make her case for 10:20 closing time. I mean, I understand if you want to leave early, but if a customer shows up even at 10:29pm for whatever reason, you have absolutely no right to make them feel like they did something wrong(You are the one clearly in the wrong!) Unilocal,Google, and your brochures say you close at 10:30pm; THEREFORE you are literally still working until 10:30pm. ALL I wanted was just to pick my order, and it takes LESS than 10 seconds to ring me up. How is that harder than running your mouth? This is bad for your business. It’s only my second time here and I normally don’t show up near closing time, unless I am preparing for an exam and go hungry at night… It happens and it’s normal. You need to get educated on proper customer service etiquette. Nobody’s gonna know that 10:30pm actually means 10:20pm. If that’s what you want, then change the information on all your marketing materials.

This place doesn’t disappoint for Korean fried chicken. The batter here is nice and crispy yet the chicken is super yummy and juicy inside! I came in with a friend during lunch and we both ordered the 5 piece combo + side + drink. Orders do take a long time to make, so don’t be surprised if you wait 15 – 20 minutes for a small order. We had the Teri Wings(sweet garlic soy sauce) and Fire Teri Wings(spicy garlic soy sauce). To be honest, they both tasted the same. Both were very sweet and the Fire Teri barely had a kick to it. I was expecting hot flames in my mouth but was sorely disappointed. Other than the lack of spice to my wings, the chicken was still really good!!! Overall, I think this place is worth your money! The combo meal was a little less than $ 10 but I got so full from my five pieces of chicken that I didn’t even touch my side dish. Definitely come check this place out if you’re a fan of fried chicken. Pass on their lemonade though. FYI: seating is limited. If you want to sit in and eat, come early to beat the lunch rush. Otherwise, just call in and take your order to go!

Yum. I love the fried Teri wings here. 12 pieces is $ 14.50. I recommend ordering the side of radish($ 0.50). They prefer cash(credit is $ 10 min). The cooking takes a while so I recommend calling ahead for your order. Parking is tough to find so pickup with a friend.

Fried chicken is one of the tastiest foods on the planet. The skin of the chicken is fried crisp, keeping the juices held within the moist and succulent meat(unless it’s overly fried). So when my friend suggested we hit up one of the most popular and authentic Korean fried chicken spots in our hood, it was only natural I agree to the lovely idea. BBQ Chicken is apparently one of the biggest fried chicken franchises in Korea. They are known for cooking up healthy fried chicken because of their use of olive oil as their cooking oil(I’d like to think this is true but I know fried chicken is never healthy). Whether the chicken is healthy or not, it certainly is quite tasty and wasn’t at all greasy. TUK-POKKI($ 7.25): Rice Cake, Fish Cake, Green Onion in a Spicy Red Chilli Sauce. This is pretty darn good. I love rice cake and anything spicy and this is the perfect combination. It’s not overly spicy which is good for the weak ones who aren’t the biggest fans of spicy food. It’s chewy and delicious. ORIGINALCHICKEN(5PCS– $ 9.99): Chickens are marinated, battered and breaded with over 30 ingredients. I would say this is definitely better than your everyday KFC. The skin is extremely crisp and the chicken was extremely moist and juicy. I loved the flavor of the chicken. I ordered a side of Sweet and Spicy sauce to go with my chicken for $ 0.50 and the Sweet Radish Pickles for another $ 0.50. The sweet and spicy sauce definitely tasted like the name says: sweet and spicy. The sweet radish pickles were a great accompaniment to cool off the spiciness from the sauce, crunchy to the bite. I definitely recommend getting both to enjoy the full flavor of this delicious Korean fried chicken. Overall, BBQ Chicken is a great alternative to your everyday KFC(and tastes better too)! The chicken skin is crispy, the meat is moist, and the condiments as well as the sauces complement the chicken nicely. With the New Year just starting and resolutions kicking in, I would like to stick to the healthier version of fried chicken and pick something cooked in olive oil.

I order BBQ chicken every time I am lazy, or I don’t have time to cook/make food. As a college student, it happens quite more often that I want it to. But this place serve some pretty good fried chicken, hands down. Its pack with so much flavor. I usually order the 5 pc original chicken with the side of rice and a sweet and sour sauce just to add some depth to the flavor. However, this cost me about $ 12. Unfortunately as much as I love it, this price is pretty high up. Since this is Westwood, I expect nothing less, unless I order In N out or flame broiler. One tip I can give you and that you should definitely take is to call in advance before you come in, because they do cook after you order. Everything is freshly cooked so it will take 15 – 20 mins for it to be served. I guess thats their secret of why it tastes so good. Furthermore, the place is quite small so it’s not recommended if you dine in with more than 4 people. Ordering it as a take out is usually the way to go. Otherwise if you want some good tasting fried chicken, check this place out, give ‘em a call. The chickens so delicious especially if you’re starving.

BBQ Chicken is my first experience with Korean fried chicken and it always satisfies my cravings for good fried chicken. It’s less greasier than American fried chicken and they also offer it covered in sauce, of which sweet and sour fried chicken is my favorite. For the original chicken, it has just the right amount of crispiness. Always call ahead to place your order so they can have it ready by the time you get there. Make sure they read back to you your order, too, because they have messed up my order before. The price is definitely more expensive than if you went to KFC or Popeyes, but the taste and quality justifies the price. Overall, this is one of my favorite places in Westwood.

I called my order in advance and the kid working was unbelievably and unwarrantedly rude. I don’t know what sass crawled up his a$$ but it really just isn’t the way you want to start off your eating experience. This place has gone a bit downhill as the service used to be friendly and warm and now people are made to feel like we imposed ourselves upon their personal spaces. The chicken is still delicious but I hope they go back to having polite staff

As the name says, everyone goes here for the chicken. Personally, I get the half chicken with sweet and spicy sauce. It costs about $ 11 and comes with 10 pieces. Overall, the chicken here is really good and I could eat it every day if it wasn’t so unhealthy for me. The chicken has a nice crispy texture, is not too dry, and is pretty filling. In addition, I love their sweet and spicy sauce, albeit it’s not actually that spicy. However, it takes a while to get your order since they make it fresh, so it’s best to call ahead. Also, it’s a pretty small space, so it can get crowded; and like all places in Westwood, it might be hard to find parking.

Small place that easily becomes crowded with just a few tables inside. This restaurant is incredibly popular, so don’t be surprised if you can’t get a seat! That being said, they do a brisk take-out business, so you can always pick up your delicious chicken and eat it elsewhere. The BB Wing Combo is a great deal, and the wings are amazingly crunchy outside, juicy inside, and perfectly spicy. I’ve tried other menu items, but the wings are my favorite. The olive oil fried chicken is definitely a different experience, but one I recommend. If you plan to dine in, be prepared to smell like oil for a few hours. Totally worth it for the chicken.

The size of the chicken was good, but it lacked the taste. Price is a bit high, and the inside seating area is very small. I was hoping there was more flavor in the fried chicken but it wasn’t there.

Worst service! Not helpful! Rude cashier! I asked for lunch combo and guy said it wasn’t available. That’s cool, then I asked what options are similar and he said«look at the menu.» Wow thanks for the help! I continued to ask and he still gave me a attitude. He thought I should know menu better than him I guess! He’s lucky I was ordering for my fiancé. Otherwise I would have left! Never coming back again!

Had the BB Wings to-go. They stayed nice and crispy even after my 15-minute walk back to my apartment. Good taste, could be spicier. All they really need to do is sell some Korean beer to go with my wings, if you know what I mean. Don’t forget to order 10 – 15 minutes ahead of time. Somewhat pricey, credit card minimum of $ 12.

Still the same craptastic service. The place can’t manage to keep staff long enough for them to become competent. I’m a forgiving kind of customer. If your food is good, I can put up with a restaurant barely giving a rat’s ass about you. I work down the street and come into this place at least once every week or every other week. I’ve been patient with their 45 minute wait(even after calling in), I’ve forgiven their many, many, many clueless employees, I’ve put up with them raising their credit card minimum, and I’ve even been fine with being ignored for five minutes while waiting to pay for my to-go orders. The straw that broke the camel’s back is when I came in today to order steamed rice to-go. I had had a friend pick up chicken earlier and she had forgotten to get rice so I thought, ‘no big deal. Just order some rice. We don’t sell sides on their own. You have to buy chicken.“ I didn’t even bother to explain myself – just resigned myself to never coming back to this joke of a business. It’s very sad but you can only take so much abuse before you have to draw the line somewhere.

Love this place! Although it is pricey for the amount of food you get, so I don’t know how often I’ll be going back. I always get the teri or bb wings with a side of radish, which is a steal at only 50 cents! The teri wings are so addicting, and I like the bb wings with a side of the extra spicy sauce. Last time I came here, my friend ordered and she got the sweet and spicy sauce instead, which wasn’t nearly as good with the bb wings. It just tasted like sweet and sour sauce; not spicy at all! :(Although I enjoyed the perfectly fried chicken wings anyway, for this price I expect the chicken wings to be near perfect! Their orders take a while so I usually call ahead of time. It’s hard to find parking in the area and the place is pretty small, so takeout is the best option.

Okay Korean chicken. Nothing special. They seem to be unfortunately understaffed so it takes awhile to get your chicken if you don’t call ahead. I guess this ensures that you are getting fresh chicken, based on how long it takes. On the pricier side. I would recommend the spicy sauce over any of the others, but that could be just my preference. The meals are pretty filling, so I wouldn’t fear feeling hungry afterwards. Not my favorite place in Westwood, but it deserves a chance from anyone living in the area.

I walked into BBQ chicken not knowing what to expect. The location is small, and it looks very unassuming. Little did I know I was going to have some awesome Korean style chicken. Fried in olive oil with a myriad of options I was super happy to muse over the menu and make some decisions about what I wanted. I ended up just getting strips, because im basic, but I enjoyed the hell out of them. The meat was the perfect chicken strip. Warm juicy tender, big hunks, not a ton of breading. The breading was also nice and light which was appreciated. Kinda unique but very enjoyable. You could tell they were fried in different oil too just by biting them and tasting the fats. My only complaint is the cramped seating, and wait times after you order. Other than that the chicken does have superior texture and flavor. I will most certainly be coming back to try other things on the menu.

Expensive but a good treat to eat every once in a while. Prices seem to have increased. Not sure if prices are matched between their Koreatown location and westwood location but 12 pc of BB and 12 pc of Teri with a side of radish cost me somewhere around $ 30. Teri and BB are good wings but even kyochon’s wings(20 pc) are around $ 21 with radish. Also they no longer deliver. Boooo! (UPDATE: Went back home to ktown for the weekend and wow the thirty piece of teri wings I ordered for a group meet up cost me $ 33 with free radish included + delivery. Prices are way more jacked up in westwood.)

They charge for pickled radishes which I paid for only to realize when I got home that it was not included in my take out. BB wings are tasteless, pass on those. How am I supposed to eat my chicken now?!

$ 22(before tax) for 20 chicken wings. Yes, it’s more than I would like to pay for wings. However, no it’s not actually over-priced…because these wings are AMAZING! My favorite are the BB Wings, which are sauceless, breaded, fried chicken wings with a little bit of a kick(not too spicy — especially for someone who doesn’t normally like spice, like me!). And don’t sleep on those fries! They are surprisingly good. People don’t go to BBQ Chicken for the fries, but if you love fries like I do, I wouldn’t blame you if you did. If you’re not feeling the price, I get it. However, you are missing out if you don’t try their chicken at least once.
