Good olé Ricos tacos. It’s a very small stand/cart. I recommend speaking some Spanish to order. They have a good variety of meats(asada, chorizo, lengua, al pastor, buche, and sometimes tripas). Asada, chorizo, and lengua are my favorites here. They are all marinated and seasoned well. Taste is pretty great. They also give you a good portion per taco/etc so come hungry. They offer three different sauces. Red sauce and their creamy green are both pretty tasty and tangy. They also have side items to add(cilantro, onions, pickled onions, and etc). Oh and it’s $ 1 a taco! Super solid place and it doesnt get too busy so thats also a plus. Cash only. TIPWELLPLZ.

Good Tacos de tripa and chorizo, the salsas are delicious especially the red one. I got there at 615 and they were open. really cheap too…$ 1 tacos, and they have homemade horchata Their tortillas are not hand made though:(

As Richard K. mentioned in his review below, I also came here after reading some Unilocaler claim this place is the best. I ordered two suadero tacos. It was some seriously gross shit. I don’t care if the tacos are $ 1 or 25 cents. I’ll pay more and get a legitimate, more sanitary, good-tasting taco anywhere else. Never again.

This small little cart on 3rd and Serrano is the best taco place in all of Los Angeles. Yes, better than King Taco and El Taurino and the millions of taco trucks and stands out there. The best and most popular are Tripa(intestines), Suadero(beef), and Al Pastor(marinated pork). Just tell the woman what you want and they’ll start cooking the meat, and they are very generous with their portions. Even so, I usually order 8, totaling to $ 8 to feed my craving. Make sure to ask for grilled onions if you dont see any, as they are easily the best add-on out of the variety that they have. They have a couple sauces ranging from green to red, but I prefer the red, the hottest, which really isn’t too bad and adds a nice flavor to the tacos. Parking might be a hassle as it is a taco stand, and street parking will probably be limited. Feel free to block the lot with the black gate(everyone does) since its closed at night. Ah, I’m craving some right now.

A Unilocaler wrote that these were the best tacos in the fucking world. Ummm I don’t think so. Seriously, I am sorry to say that I was not impressed with Rico’s Tacos. In fact, I ended up taco-hopping afterwards to fulfill my disappointment. While $ 1 tacos are cheap and Rico’s has a homely feel to it due to their nice workers, I really don’t like how they cook their meat. Let’s just say, whatever you order will end up tasting like fucking pork. The reason? They cook all the meat in one big communal pot boiling in fat. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t want my carne asada and suadero tasting like chorizo. So the wife and I ordered tacos in two waves. We started by ordering 2 suadero tacos, 2 carne asada tacos, and 2 al pastor tacos. While the suadero was really crispy, the taste of pork was overwhelming. The carne asada was forgettable and again it tasted like pork. As for the al pastor, it really did not impress because I’ve had better… oh yea, and it tasted like pork because it is. For the second wave we ordered a tripa taco and a chorizo taco to share. These tacos were the best because they tasted the way they should, like pork. The tripa was nice and crunchy and the chorizo was really flavorful. Actually, when I bit into the chorizo taco I realized that this son of a bitch was responsible for tainting the flavors of everything else. Like all good taco stands(unlike stingy ass King Taco), Rico’s has a ton of add-ons to pimp your taco from traditional chopped onions and cilantro, grilled jalapeños and onions, limes, cucumbers, and radishes. Also they offer three different salsas: a sour guacamole cream sauce, a mild salsa verde, and a somewhat spicy salsa roja(probably the best they have). Sadly, the add-ons and salsas still could not save our tacos from meh-diocrity. So unless you want really oily tacos where everything tastes like pork, I don’t recommend this place. * BTW the guy collecting money is not Rico. Rico means delicious in Español. * They need more seats. Four chairs are not enough. Juggling plates while eating was not fun. * Good thing I always have hand sanitizer and carry a case of water in my car because you will be messy after eating here and because the only drink options are canned Coke and horchata.

first of all, this isn’t a truck, it’s a CART. [couldn’t find it for awhile b/c i thought it was a truck] second, $ 1 per taco. [r u serious!!!] third, they are SO generous with the meat(the man even warmed up grilled onions and pepper for me). forth, you’ve GOT to try suadero – chest meat – it’s SO flavorful! i wanted to try al pastor, tripa(intestine), and suadero but realized i only had $ 2.90 cash on me. [yep, emptied my wallet] when the folks at rico’s tacos saw how sad i looked, they gave me 3 tacos anyways. yippee!!! i promised them i’ll return and bring my friends too. it’d be a crime not to eat here. their red salsa is also really good; a dollar a taco; did i mention they’re super generous with the meat? my paper plate was overflowing with a plethora of meat, grilled onions, pepper, and the sides. it’s located on the southwest corner of serrano &3rd. just COME. bring CASH.

I’m a little disappointed with Rico’s lately. The past two times I got carnitas it was a little scary, and dang it, carnitas is my favorite. When the carnitas goes downhill I’ll switch to chicken. The chicken there is still great. He grills it, chops it up, then grills it a little more just to make it nice an crispy on the outside. Still a fantastic taco stand

I had pretty high expectations by reading the other reviews. Its national Taco day so I finally made it over here and was pretty dissapointed. The el pastor was chewy, tough and not very flavorful. The asada was also quite lackluster. Not sure if I ordered the wrong thing, but in my opinion, although its a good deal for $ 1 each and they give you a good amount of meat and salsas, I would pick El Flamin Taco or even Juanitas any day.

Get some cabeza here, feels I mean tastes so good. They don’t skimp on the portions, which is always a plus. It may look a lil shady, but this place turns out some really good tacos.

Oh, Rico! You’re so fine! You’re so fine, you blow my mind! Hey Rico! Hey! Hey Rico! Its been 6 months since I first reviewed Rico’s, so I decided I ought to revisit and reiterate the pure awesomeness of this little ol’ taco joint. I’m telling you, no other taco stand/truck compares. The meat here is so flavorful and they load it on to each lil tortilla to the max. Personal favorite is the suadero. I had 3 last Friday night. Mmmm. JUICY GOODness! :D Oh, and don’t worry about getting monster diarrhea. If you’re that scared(wimp!), take some pepto and think of it as preparation for your next trip to some random third world country. ;) Ahaha. Aye-yi-yi! I’m getting a Rico’s taco craving as I type! :) Too bad it’s ~100 miles from me. *Sighhh* Woe is me!

YES!!! So good, so cheap, and so close to my place. One of the reasons I moved back to Ktown after all these years on the Westside was to be within walking distance to delicious street food. When Juanita’s let me down last week, I was very sad and disappointed. But now that I have discovered the juicy goodness of $ 1 tacos at 3rd and Serrano, I am so happy! I didn’t try the suadero this time but I had 1 al pastor, 1 asada, and 1 chorizo. All 3 were fabulous but the chorizo was especially flavorful. Even though the tortillas are tiny, they are completely filled with a generous portion of meat. It’s places like Rico’s that make me love LA.

I had this for the first time with Justin K. and couple other friends. I had a lotta tacos before but this place serves one of the best I’ve had. I got the al pastor, which had chucks of pineapples like the ones at El Flamin. You can’t beat the price. Tacos for $ 1! I enjoyed my taco, but I don’t think I’ll be going by myself.

The best tacos in the fucking world. Gotta get the al pastor and tripa(extra crispy). And maybe a bit of the suadero if you like. Don’t touch the carne asada(not that it’s bad or anything) and don’t even think about the damn pollo. Or you’re an idiot. Get the grilled onions, regular chopped onions, cilantro, limes, and a bit of the red sauce. Order from the guy and pay the girl/woman after you’re done eating. Simple. No hassles no worries. They open up 7:00PM sharp but don’t come exactly then or they won’t be finished setting up. For the tripa, you should come like 20 – 30 minutes in just to be safe. Don’t want to eat uncooked tripa(intestines) would you? Tacos are $ 1 each and people even buy the meats and take it home. Coooool. Don’t come on Wednesdays ’cause it’s not open. Don’t be a pu**y and not eat here just because it’s street food and it’s unsanitary because it’s not. It’s probably cleaner than Mickey D’s. Parking? Just pull up in the nearest driveway or park anywhere. :D

It was so good the night i had it. the morning/day/week after sucks. if you want hurricane diarrhea, by all means, enjoy. It was such a great deal. but the .25 and tax that i spend extra at king taco or el taurino means health code and no food poisoning or stomach flu.
