Growing up in the area, my dad always used to come here for most of our BBQ needs and some quick fresh produce in a pinch. Flash forward 15+ years and I now work in the area. I needed to pick up a few items on my lunch that I know a regular super market would chew up most of my time and there would be no guarantee they would have what I was looking for. Located on Busy Broadway, next to the King Taco bakery, lies this little gem. I was hoping to find good quality after all these years and boy was I surprised. Walking in took me back to my childhood, the place looks basically the same, in a good way. A great selection of fresh produce, they have all your staples, potatoes, onions, celery, avocados, fresh herbs and greens. Peppers… The meat counter is what I really came here for, but couldn’t pass up all the goodness on the way in. The Meat Counter has plenty of Beef, Chicken, Pork & even some seafood selections. All the choices had marinated and un-marinated options and different cuts. everything looked fresh and the counter was exceptionally clean. Seafood was iced down nicely. They even have a cheese section where you can get great, fresh queso fresco, Oxaca, crema… The few aisles they had offered dry goods, tortillas, canned tomatoes and such. I didnt make it to the last aisle so not sure if there was another cooler with dairy. Prices are fair, staff is really nice. The butcher that was helping me, the taller guy with a little ‘stach was very helpful and informative when I was trying to decied what else I should get. I’ll be sure to come back again and again for my staples here. I’d rather my funds go to a longtime local shop than a big box market.

One of my go-to’s for last minute meat and ingredients! My dad’s been coming here for years. Since he’s not so mobile anymore, I do most of his shopping for him. He’s always advising me to visit this place for their meat and veggies. I’ve used their grown beef and asada for pastas, tacos and burritos. I’ve ordered several pounds of their marinated chicken fajitas and slapped it onto the grill or meal prepped with it. As for their veggies, they’re fairly cheap and pretty fresh. They have their own private lot that can get pretty full during the day. Make sure you read where you’re suppose to exit and enter because I’ve seen so many«almost accidents» occur because drivers don’t read/pay attention.

Great local Rancho Market basically Mexican meat market with all the stuff you need to make any traditional Mexican meal. You can buy fresh beef jerky buy the oz! Wah wha what! Meats fresh and always at a good price. Vegetables are also of the same quality and price. You can buy a plastic but for 10 cents or so. Parking is usually good.

THEASADAHEREISINCREDIBLE! Having grown up in San Diego & now living East LA adjacent for more than 10years, I know the difference between good & great. The Ranchera Preparada Carne Asada here was recommended by a very kind local girl. I have been going to different Meat markets & corner stores for years trying to find it’s equal and I have failed. If you call a day in advance, they’ll even make you your own box with their special recipe which includes peppers, onions orange slices and cilantro. If you let the marinade sit for a day it’s crazy tender and the flavor is ridiculous. Drown it with some onion-heavy salsa verde on grill warmed toritillas and you’ll compare every Asada you have after to Ranchos… Every party I serve it at I they say: 1. «This is incredible» and 2.“Where did you get it?“ Unless I can reverse engineer the recipe, I’ll never be able to leave LA! Thanks Rancho!

My mom used to go here, I’m glad she exposed me to this place cause I probably would never go in passing by. This is a great place to buy meat for a BBQ, and its cheap! I love this place but sorry, you lose a star because parking can sometimes be ATROCIOUS! I have a parking pet peeve and cars just waiting to get into the lot is not my idea of a pleasant shopping experience.

It’s my 20th Anniversary… Yes, I’ve been going to Rancho Meat Market since 1989 for 20 Years now!, not sure how long this little market has been in business but obviously more than 20 years I’ve seen a couple of owner changes but pretty much everything else has stayed the same, and NO reviews! WOW… www.yelp.com/biz_photos/TerA1JM2iUPqSckkGusbIA?select=_2BDX4Xs7IQ0oAp0m58LwA So I generally only shop here for my meat when I’m going to have a BBQ, I stopped by on Friday to pick up some meat and things for my BBQ I was having Saturday, I like to get the Meat(1) day before so I can marinate and let set for a day. So I picked up 10 pounds of Carne Ranchera Some Veggies for Habanero Salsa And some Pinto Beans to make Refried Beans Saturday the Party was on and I have to say the food was a hit, of course I cooked it! 5 — Stars Rancho for ALWAYS providing me with good Ranchera for my BBQ…
