More homeless shelter than it is a fried chicken joint. People will ask you for money while you order, and the staff will just roll their eyes. No drive in so it forces you inside, and the whole place smells awful. Popeyes is a fine, if not good, fried chicken chain restaurant, but this location should be shut down ASAP.

It’s fast and convenient to the hospital. There’s enough business that you don’t worry about cold chicken being served. You can’t beat their Tuesday special. 2 piece chicken for $ 1.49! This price can’t be beat in my opinion There’s a small parking lot but can get full quickly.

This place has very long wait for food. I waited 15 min for my number to be called(and I was 1of 3 customers inside) and when my number was called it was just to tell me that they were out of Mac & cheese and regular chicken… So basically everything I ordered they don’t have. The cashier told me it would be an additional 15 min wait for regular chicken or I can take the spicy right now. I don’t understand how Popeyes is out of anything at 12 noon?! While I was waiting for my food a woman told me she had been waiting 20 min for her combo and a man returned his red beans because he said it tasted weird… I won’t be coming back.

Typical food what you would expect from a popeyes chicken place. .greasy and fast. The service was acceptable. I granted it one star because of the continued harassment from aggressive panhandling when you go in and when you leave. They even come inside and get food out of the trash. I will never return and put me and my family at risk again. Merchants should unite and hire security for the parking lot, enter at your own risk… remember… YOUHAVEBEENWARNED…

The food was great! Our order wasn’t messed up or anything. The bathroom was scary and messy and out of toilet paper though. And the customer service wasn’t all that great. It was good from one guy, but the girls weren’t very friendly

The only thing great about this place is the location which is convenient for me. The lady who appears to be the manager was rather rude. The food was too salty. There were people loitering. The main reason I wouldn’t go again is the rude manager.

I like Popeye’s. I prefer the spicy fired chicken, but my Guatemalan companion prefers the milder original recipe. The problem with this location is that it’s right across the street from the mental ward at LA County USC Medical Center. The hospital dumps its patients on the street when their medical insurance runs out. It really should be illegal, a human rights abuse to dump these poor souls on the street virtually naked, in just their flimsy hospital gowns. The tiny parking lot is very hard to navigate, and is always full. Sometimes there are cars waiting for someone to pull out. There are always homeless people, pan handlers, prostitutes and drug dealers right outside the restaurant, often blocking the entrance. The filthy sidewalk smells of urine, and spilled wine. If you don’t want some aggressive psycho in your face avoid this location at all costs. No fried chicken, however good is worth this hassle.

Although a renovated location, this Popeyes needs to be reminded that the operational word is maintenance. Having a county hospital across the street is no excuse to not keep up with cleanliness.

Was starving so we walked here from the hospital. This place is not clean like other Popeyes I’ve been to. Especially the restroom. There were pee all over the seat. Toilet paper was not in it’s place. Oh and pee all over the floor too. We ordered two pieces of chicken and it comes with a biscuit, shrimp popcorn and fried fish plate(it comes with popcorn chicken, 2 pieces of battered fish filet, biscuit and one side, I got Cajun fries). Everything was so bad(too much batter and it was greasy). I actually enjoyed the biscuit. It was buttery and warm. The food was so bad that we threw most of it away. Parking: on the street or you can park in the lot. It’s a walking distance from the hospital(LAC+USC). Price: it was not bad but because the food was not that good I kind of feel like it’s pricey. When we walked out of the restaurant and started walking towards the hospital we second hand smoked someone’s weed. It was really strong. Wow really? There was a police officer parked in the parking lot too. Was it him? I don’t think so. This Popeyes won’t be seeing me anymore!

I love that fact that everything that bothers me in life can be found at this Popeyes! Panhandling, prostitution, homeless, mental patients walking around, loud ass customers, cholas will sleeve tattoos, shitty parking and that ever present feeling that something bad is going to happen. To date, nothing bad has happened. No parking tickets. The people who ask for money, just say«God Bless» you, and that Louisiana style of goodness make is all better. Love the Tenders and sides. Still haven’t picked up the gallon of Kool Aid they sell. It makes me feel a little trashy but I think this experience says more about me and my misconceptions. check out the window adverts for the specials and just take a deep breath before you walk in here. This is a spot of the people, for the people and by the people. Live a simpler life :) Keep on Unilocaling.

Discusting dining room, tables, floors and seats are dirty, floors are sticky, a lot of homeless inside as well. The two things good about this place is good food and freindly staff. Its hard to enjoy the food when everything around you is dirty and you have homeless walking around.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I ordered food and had to go back to the location three times for being given the wrong order. Manager was a douche about refunding my order too. Never, ever, ever again.

Didn’t experience any panhandling at all that others have mentioned so I cannot comment on that. Went in for dinner around 6:00PM and there weren’t too many people eating in, most people got their meals to-go. Ordered a 12 pc. family meal chicken only(mild) and I have got to say, that was some fried chicken! It wasn’t too oily like KFC’s often is which was quite the pleasant surprise. It was a little on the salty side but hey, its fried chicken — what do you expect. We got our food within 5 minutes of ordering it and it tasted great. Overall, good experience at this popeyes.

Well, the great thing about this place is that it’s pretty convenient if you are by LAC-USC Hospital and the prices are pretty cheap(esp on Tuesday when they have their leg and thigh special)… but that’s about where it ends. I came here for a quick bite to eat on Monday and I ended up with a serious stomachache! Having ate street food from all over the world, I can say my stomach is usually pretty strong. but I guess it was no match for the food at this Popeye’s. I don’t think I’ll ever come back to this location again! On top of that, the leg and thigh that I ordered at this place was super small… almost to the point of where it’s just fried breaded skin wrapping the bones. Avoid this place at all costs… unless you want to put your stomach up for a challenge!

There are some things you don’t EVER want to see(Ever…NEVEREVER) For instance: When a manager is wiping down the tables, the trays and then lid of the trash receptacles with the SAME towel… WTF!!! So if he does that, please don’t tell me what the staff does. I’m done!!! «A» my @ss

When you come to this popeye’s you can expect a major flood of panhandling. You’re probably wondering why that is. You only need look across the street to the hospital which I’m sure gets their fill of forced mental patients and the homeless. Now that sounds a bit harsh. I mean, they need to eat too, right? And on several instances I forgo given them the pocket change and just went inside. On Tuesdays and Thursdays this place has a 99 cent drum and thigh special, so hey, that’s the way to go. Is it great service? Not really. Will you wait with a slew of other nurses and all walks of life you deem degenerate? More than likely. Will you get a tasty two piece for a buck and change? Oooh that’s a given. The seating area is pretty packed so you may want to get it to go. Though the number of folks who do pan handle while you’re eating here would probably be reason enough to just grab it to go. A cheap fairly tasty chicken piece with a little karmic enjoyment of helping out a homeless dude get a meal, all for under $ 2.50 seems pretty alright with me.

Popeyes is good tasty chicken. What i don’t like about this location is all the damn pan handlers that harass you. You cannot stop by without being bothered by them. You cannot go and eat here because they’re all around. Think about it, do you really want to eat food while smelling stinky people??? I mean hell to the NO!!! Other than that i would’ve rated it better.
