In a chain heavy nieghborhood, surrounded by togos, Quiznos and subway– Olive It shines as the only real deli around. The beef tapenade sandwich is my personal favorite. Home made salads, fresh sandwiches, friendly service. Limited seating so plan to carry your order out.

I went yesterday, on a Friday at 3:30 and they were closed for the day according to the sign but all of the lights were on. So this may be one of those situations where you have to call first but I don’t have time for that. So I probably won’t be going back because I left work early to go try the place and ended having to find something else.

I came here once at 1130 am when it is supposed to open and it wasn’t opened yet. I waited until 1145 am, and still not open. I was annoyed. I have since gone back a couple more times. It has been open at 1130 am both times. It also has amazing sandwiches and incredible prices. This may be the best deal on the westside. I hesitate writing this in fear they may raise prices. Even if they do, they would need to raise it a lot, before I would have a different opinion.

It was my first time trying it today. I ordered the small prosciutto and mozzarella sub. The bread was so soft and easy for me to bite into, even with my braces. The women working there are super friendly and prepared my sandwich insanely fast! Glad I found this place, I will be adding this to my regular work lunch.

Oh man, I keep craving this sandwich. I came just after opening(11:30am) on a Thursday, and it was busy but not packed. I ordered up a prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sandwich on a roll(they have 4 – 5 different kinds of bread), a side of chopped veggie, and a soda. All in all, with the 10% Unilocal discount, it was just under $ 9. A huge steal. So the sandwich was amazing. The prosciutto seemed of high quality(not chewy like some can be), and that fresh mozzarella was out of this world. The chopped veggie«salad» was crisp and fresh with good flavoring. There is minimal seating inside, especially when it gets busy(which it did pretty quickly after I came). The people are super friendly, and serve it up as quickly as they can, but it isn’t a fast food burger by any means — wait a few minutes, and you’ll be rewarded.

I love this small business! They share their love with the awesome food they have. Also, they are very generous with the amount of food they give and sometimes they’ll even give you free food because of surplus. :)

I’d been hearing about this place on Unilocal for ages and the buzz was really good! Since it was Spring Break for LMU I hoped the lunch time rush would be slightly less, so I ventured over there one day. It was really hard to choose the sandwich because they all sounded delicious. I went for a roast beef with tapenade(but know that I’ll be back to try many others). I chose to have it on marbled rye — because it’s usually a softer bread but still with the rye flavor — and it’s pretty as well. Because I hadn’t eaten breakfast, I went for 2 of their sides made there. I didn’t feel I could disrespect the sandwich with just a bag of chips so I ordered the avocado cole slaw which was SO tasty. I also ordered the broccoli salad which was similar to one I make at home — but better! The sandwich was a good size. Truthfully if it’d been a normal day — eating ½ a sandwich with 1 side could have sufficiently satisfied me from a quantity point of view. After eating this — I don’t know if I can return to regular sandwich chain restaurants. I washed it all down with a bubbly water which was perfect to clean my palate between the two sides. Can’t wait to go back!

I am OBSESSED with this place! I started working nearby a few weeks ago, and have come for lunch almost every day since. The food is incredible and always fresh — I love that they have different salads every day, and the prices are super reasonable. All of the ladies behind the counter are very friendly and helpful(and patient, especially my first couple times when I couldn’t make up my mind because it all looked so good!). I can’t recommend this place enough, if you’re in the area a must try.

The number 2 sub is it for me and my family. The owner, is a fabulous sandwich maker, as are all the others in the store. It’s exactly the type of small business you’re supposed to support.

Yes. Go here for lunch! You will fall in love! I absolutely love this place! Been here twice and loved what I got both times. First time I got a neapolitan sandwich which includes prosciutto, turkey breast and imported provolone on a roll. It was the perfect combo. Very fresh and delicious. Second time I got a ½ cup container of 2 of their prepared fresh cold salads, which was half of their garbanzo corn salad and half of the pasta salad. Too good! Not too oily. Just right(they have about 8 salads to choose from) Plus it was only $ 3.75 :) They really know how to make their flavors pop. I highly recommend this small gem. They hook it up

Had a quick lunch here while waiting for my husband to finish a doctors appointment across the street. This is a quaint little sandwich shop with a variety of sandwich options. Along with a sandwich I got the caprese and some fresh olives. I destroyed the sandwich in no time and loved the olives as well. Wasn’t much of a fan of the caprese, it wasn’t flavorful, but everything else made up for it so I’ll be back if I’m in the area.

Turkey, roasted peppers and provolone was really good. I don’t know what is on the shredded salad or if the roasted pepper’s vinegar made the sandwich a little bit salad dressing — i but it was soooo good. I opted for the olive bread . 5 star !

Ah love it and you’ll Olive It too. I put my closing tagline up top because it’s so awful I needed to get it out of the way. Very small deli that makes delicious bites. If you’re looking for an authentic grinder or submarine sandwich, this place is legit. The prices are reasonable and be sure to check the daily specials. They use fresh ingredients in their sandwiches and salads and you can taste the difference. There isn’t much room inside to sit and eat so you’re better off planning on getting it «to go». Now if you pull up 87th Street to the the store front, you might find parallel parking and you might not. This street has a lot of small shops on it. There’s more parking around back or on the end of the street. Skip the chains and give this mom&pop quality establishment a try.

Very nice staff and really good sandwiches. I’ve tried a lot of different sandwiches on their menu and liked all of them. They have a small staff so often times I just order the sandwich of the day which they prepare in the morning… and it’s always great.

This place has by far quickly managed to become one of my guilty pleasures. The sandwiches, salads and freshly prepared olives always seem to supersede my expectations. Located just adjacent to my barbershop(Definite plug to George and the team at Jag’s Barbershop) within the cusp of Wisteria Lane in what could seemingly be Plesantville is this jewel of a place serving up fresh delectables — DAILY! Parking is free for an hour affront the establishment yet should you feel the need to exceed an hour here for some odd and bizarre reason, there’s a lot just out back that should more than accommodate your request. While the menu is a bit limited, I don’t know about you all, but I’ve come to respect quality over quantity! With that into consideration, this place, with reference to taste… has yet to come up short. Loosely translated: Subway’s got nothing on this joint!!! I tend to go for the Specialty sandwich if not the Italian. Unlike franchise competitors, cuts here are ALWAYS made to order and… w/a side of habanero olives, my life tends to flash before my very eyes!!! You’d swear there was LOVVVE injected into every single bite and those olives… (Southern voice…) «Babyyyy…» The olives here are the absolute highlight of my visit. Those that know me best know that aside of being an avid connoisseur of wine and fan of jazz… that olives(…and BACON) are by far my KRYPTONITE! I can detect a quality olive from a good 5 miles away! Suffice it to state, my radar starts a buzzing for this place as I exit the 405 freeway! From jalapeño olives to habanero olives, the adequately appointed name of this establishment alone isn’t sufficient enough to modify what my taste buds want to convey!!! Compliments to the owner, whose name I can never seem to remember. She’s done an outstanding job perfecting her craft. Add to that,… stellar customer service, freshly made sandwiches as well as additional edibles and an outstanding«home reminiscent» that has already received a seal of approval from my Mom and well… looks as if she’s going to have to stuff me into an olive like a pimento just to get rid of me!!! In summary, what could possibly be left to be stated?! Hands down —- #oliveit

I’ve been ordering sandwiches from Olive It for a couple of years and it’s sad to say I’ve seen the consistency go down in the last year or so. The sandwiches are becoming more skimpy with only one side of olive spread. I’ve also noticed the employees are a little less generous with the cheese and meat. I usually get a half a sandwich with a pasta salad and a soda. Last time I ordered my lunch, the lady at the cash register did not fill my pasta salad to the top like they usually do, I felt dupped. I’ve also noticed the employees aren’t as happy and cheerful as they used to be. I really hope someone at Olive It reads this because I want my local sandwich deli back!
