Have only been here once so far, and really enjoyed their sandwiches. What makes me not come here more often(I eat so much Vietnamese food, as it is cheap, fresh, and not too heavy in calories generally): a) the location makes parking unattractive– people drive that bend of Hyperion so fast that if you park at a meter, someone is almost clipping you the second you try to pull out of your metered space — unsafe, even if you gun it from 0 to 40mph with your stick shift vehicle. b) hours always catch me off guard. though I can see why they would only make sandwiches for those hours, i think people would still come up until 5PM or later and they would have lots of business. who knows.

The shop is very small, it can be easily passed by without even noticing. I came by on a rainy Friday around 1pm since they stay open for only 3hrs/dAy. I got the roasted pork(without the bread) and a combination banh mi with a side of papaya salad Togo. The lady owner was very nice and sweet, she carefully packed up my Togo orders and gave me some extra dipping sauces, which I was completely forgot to ask for. The food was delicious, the sandwich was fresh and crispy, the salad was flavorful and the roasted pork was marinated very nicely. I will be back!

So glad someone told me about this place! I work down the street, and almost missed it! It’s super tiny, literally a hole in the wall kind of joint. It’s a white building and they’re only open for about 4 hours a day 12−4PM. I always order the chicken Bahn Mi with the extra sauce, because trust me, YOUWILL run out of the sauce. 5 stars for the food, but because they only take cash, I’m going with 4 stars.

Our Banh Mi place for the last few times. Small, tasty, and with just the right kick.

That was one amazing banh mi without a single Asian person in the vicinity. White meat chicken, amazing crisp bread, fresh veggies n herbs, perfectly packed so it’s not going all over the place. Awesome. And the sweetest front desk gal! Win!!!

Cute little unassuming place dishing out perfect, bright Bahn Mi sammys. I had the Lemongrass Tofu and my boyfriend the Pork(we went on a Sunday and he was stoked to see that Pork was on the menu after reading it was a «Friday Only» offering). I can only speak for the Tofu, but I’m happy to as it was damn good. Light on the mayo, super flavorful tofu and the perfect balance of fresh jalapeño, cilantro, and pickled veggies. The staff was really friendly and the girl at the register even hooked me up with additional pickled carrots, free of charge. I’ll definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I recently moved to the area and was craving for some good banh mi, so we located this place on Unilocal! We tried the pork belly & the cold cut banh mi with vietnamese iced coffee. Everything was delicious! You get a great sized banh mi for your buck! We will be regulars here from now on. Thanks!

It’s Friday so you know what time it is… Pig Time So I work across the street and finally tried one of their signature banh mi sandwiches; the roasted pork banh mi! Btw, only on Fridays! So this place always has a line out the door and because the close at 4pm, people are rushing to get their orders in. We called ahead to avoid waiting in line and sure enough it was ready in no time. The sandwich was like a foot long and the baguette was crunchy. The roasted pork was delicious but they really didn’t put enough in it. Also came with cucumbers and cilantro inside, plus this yummy vinaigrette on the side. The sandwich overall was tasty, but had more bread than fillings. Plus if I’m waiting all week to get this roasted pork sandwich, the nice thing to do would be to serve you a good amount. So for almost $ 8, you do get a pretty tasty banh mi.

solid banh mi sandwich. Small selection(which is fine) with choices such as; coldcut, lemongrass chicken, lemongrass tofu, sardine, & baby octopus. This being my first visit, went with the traditional coldcut sandwich. Good bread & solid ingredients. So while it’s not my favorite banh mi in Los Angeles, you can’t go wrong if you’re in the Silverlake area and in the mood. NOTES: — Sandwiches are $ 7.50. Cash only. — Tiny place on Hyperion, just east of Lyric Ave. If you’re not paying close attention, you’ll miss it. — small window of operation, only open 12−4p daily. — Came upon this place through an EaterLA article boasting their«whole roast pig on Fridays» bah mi sandwiches. They’ve currently postponed doing the whole roast pig on Fridays, but might bring it back in the sping/summer time.(this review is Feb or 2016)

Been wanting to try this little spot for a while. Sa-weet! The chicken banh mi was tasty and fresh. I will return for more. Easy to miss if you’re driving. Slow down for the phenomenal taste sensation.

Good deal of self-important Unilocalers complaining about $ 7.50 for a sandwich. You guys are nuts. This place is fantastic, I’m sure you can sift through the BS reviews on here to understand this place is worth your time. My gal and I shared the lemongrass chicken and the beef bahn-mi. Killer sandwiches, bread was amazing(we yaked about it all the way home), vegetables fresh. And that phenomenal flavor in the meats? I want more, it was everything I wanted today. Can’t wait to get back on a Friday to try this mythical pork! Loved the spot too, blink and you’ll miss it. Street parking. Vibe was perfect, they obviously get it. I’ll be returning soon and often.

I live down the road from this«best kept secret» in Franklin Hills. I crave the sardine sandwich often, but also love the baby octopus, and the lemongrass tofu. Everything is fresh, filling and flavors are out of this world. Cash only. ATM inside. truly a favorite spot!

I have been coming to this place almost two times a week for the last 7 months. I used to love it. It was awesome, but now they must have sold it or something because in the last two weeks and after 4 consecutive bad sandwiches I will never step foot in there again. Chicken was cold, they gave away my order once, gave me the wrong thing… Today they forgot the mayo so when I asked for it the cook spread so much inside it. Gross. I wasn’t being a dick or anything. Just rude. They clearly stopped caring and I was an avid fan of this place. Makes me so upset. Maybe a good place can open up nearby and give this place a run for it’s money.

We were so excited to find a quality bahn mi joint in the neighborhood! Delightful people, fresh ingredients, delicious sammies! The only improvement we can think of is an option for lemongrass beef and ability to add fried eggs to the bahn mi! And they are usually out of pork.

The girlfriend and I love Banh Mi’s. This place has satiated our mid-afternoon cravings so many times it is unreal. I’ve only ever had the lemongrass chicken banh mi, but that is because it’s so insanely good I can’t even imagine ordering any of the others. For the lemongrass chicken alone you have to stop in. The sandwiches are $ 7.50 and cash only, which some people have taken to complaining about below. Let me address the special breed of idiot who populate Unilocal purely to drive down star ratings for great local businesses: If you think $ 7.50 is too much money for sandwich, go back to Arby’s, bro. This some shit chain restaurant where you can get five burgers for five dollars. It also isn’t food that will kill you before your children graduate from high school. You don’t like that it’s cash only? NOONECARES. It is literally no one’s problem, least of all the store owners here, that you don’t carry around cash on you. You’re going to lower your rating because they’re cash only? Who hurt you as a child? Point being, you should stop by and give it a try for yourself. Yes, bring a ten dollar bill(gee, I hope you can get ahold of one), so that you can pay these sweet ladies in cash. I don’t think that is too much to ask. But then again, I’m not miserable in life.

I wish I could give this place a better rating, but like the star rating says, this place is just A-OK. For a $ 7.50 banh mi sandwich, I expect amazing goodness and to me, that wasn’t what I got. The cold cut banh mi I got was good, but I feel like I’ve had better elsewhere and for a cheaper price. The banh mi had a nice layer of pâté, which I liked and the cold cuts were fine, but there wasn’t anything special that made it stand out. Cash only and they only open 3 hours a day(12 — 3 pm) everyday.
