the staff here are so great! they’re a family business that actually cares for the community it serves… with great food too! a friend and i went here at least once a month for a bit and in no time Paula remembered our preferences even before we asked and was so attentive. Mike and his crew have done(and continue to do) catering for our local church community and have been so flexible and responsive with our little budget. they’ve got great breakfast deals and i find their chips super addicting! :P

Where do I begin?! Absolutely, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in this neighborhood! Both manager and staff are so down to earth and humble that they make you feel like family!!! Their entire Menu from A-Z is so affordable, definitely my favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot!!! AND let’s not forget their daily 50 cents tacos after 4PM… which, if I may add are absolutely delicious!

Maracas catered a luncheon I had at work. We got three taco meats, carne asada, chicken, and carnitas. Came with tortillas, salsa, guacamole, rice, and beans. We also got a 3 different drinks. The food was really good and fresh. One of the better buffet spreads I have had. For a group of 16, it was only $ 8.95 a person. Such a great deal for good food!

DONOTHIREFORANYCATERING! Their food is mediocre but their services are the worst I’ve ever encountered. I hired them to cater a special event for my family. Mike promised me the moon and stars of course only to get my money but ended up making my family and I look extremely bad before our guests. Mike acted very unprofessional borderline con-artist when I confronted him. One of the WORSTEXPERIENCES ever! Save yourselves and do not come here.

This place has many Great reviews and a 4.5-Star average BUT… based off what we had it’s VERY overrated! When we arrived the place was pretty empty only a couple other customers as you can see yet the server was very slow and forgetful, we had to ask several times for things like Drinks, Limones, Tortillas she was either new at waitressing and or not well trained. I was going to order Tacos but looking over the Menu, at(($ 3.29)) EACH I quickly changed my mind, it was a Weekend and I noticed they had Birria, Pozole y Menudo on Weekends… so the Wife and I got a Birria y Pozole so we could share and try both. Birria — Res($ 7.49) Res/Beef the Wife and I both thought it was lacking in flavor, the consommé/caldo/broth was very plain and birria should have bold flavors. The birria arrived with NO condiments… onions, cilantro etc, we had to ask and she came back with it but still no limones, and we waited and waited 2-Stars Pozole —($ 7.49) 99% of the time Pozole is made with PORK the menu didn’t specify and I didn’t ask I «ASSumed» so these guys are the 1% and make it with Pollo/Chicken, I was a bit let down but can deal with that, what really bothered me again was the consommé/caldo/broth was red but taste like tomato water, VERY lacking in spices, therefore the pollo/chicken picked up no flavor and was just like eating boiled chicken. 1.5-Stars The Food, what we had 2-Stars, the slacker Service Minus –1 Star… Due to the High Rating of this place I might give them a redeeming chance at Breakfast, but won’t be trying their $ 3.29 Tacos!

When I moved into the area two years ago this was the first restaurant I went to and fell in love ever since! The waitresses have always been friendly and get the orders right and the food is made fresh to order. The coffee is great also! One of a kind!

I love this place. I use to come here all the time when I lived in the neighborhood. It’s a small family joint but the food reflects that home made goodness comfort Mexican food. I usually don’t like menudo but the one here is good. The chorizo and egg burrito and orange juice(freshly squeezed) is my favorite. They make fresh spicy salsa so I like to lather that over my burrito. The chilequilles here is better that recent dish at huaraches(which use to be my favorite spot). Must try and super affordable. The quarters are a bit tight though. Narrow and restroom is in kitchen.

Went here for the first time today for lunch, the fish tacos are the best I’ve had in all Los Angeles and Washington hands down, the cheese enchiladas are also really good and the horchata. If you haven’t been here yet, I definitely recommend it. The soup of the day was yummy too, it was a pasta soup with a tomato sort of base, really good. Oh and they cater too!

Maracas Café & Catering provided excellent service and great food for a work meeting. The provided boxed lunches with various Sandwiches & Torta’s. Each lunch came with a bag of chips and fresh fruit and drink. Their pricing was right, the Owner was very helpful and the food was really good. I recommend and would therefore use them again.

Let me just say, «YUM»! This place is one of the best eateries that serves Mexican food by far. The enchiladas were delis and the salsa was HOT! LOVEIT and will be back soon.

Used them to carer my engagement party and they were very professional. The price was extremely affordable and the food was delicious. They showed up on time and provided more than was expected. I would definitely use them again and I recommend their restaurant. Try their food and talk to Miguel about sampling their catering menu. My fiancé was also very impressed with their service. Took one stressor off of her and the family.

Talk about value here. Great customer service. The best. Prices are excellent. Food quality is that of a 5 star restaurant. Authentic Mexican food that tastes like it came from Abuelita’s kitchen. We hired them to cater a few parties. Super easy to work with, on time and easy on the checkbook.

I have lived in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood for years now and for some reason this was one of the last Mexican food places I tried in the area. Maybe that is because Maracas states that it’s a catering company and that it isn’t open for dinner. I sure wish it had been the first restaurant I’d tried because it is definitely one of the BEST in the neighborhood. I started going there for breakfast which is cheap, cheap, cheap and AMAZING. Every time I sat down a very nice lady wearing restaurant service clothing(also known as a «WAITRESS») would bring me a bowl of complimentary soup which changed on a daily basis. The soups here alone blew me away. They are of a completely different category than anything else served in Lincoln Heights. They taste as though they belong in a 5 star restaurant downtown or maybe served on some exotic blimp voyage to an upperclass cloud city full of elite business people and senators. The breakfast menu has both American and Mexican breakfasts and if you show up before 10:30, you can get a full breakfast for $ 4.69. Not too shabby. I really recommend the machaca. It’s good. For lunch, they also offer you complimentary soup and chips like they do with their breakfast. One day their homemade salsa was a bit hot so I asked for a milder salsa. They brought me an incredible sauce that forced me to reexamine my life, go back to school, and pursue my dreams. After being whisked away into a dreamlike state, I quickly came to, slammed my hand down on the table and demanded where the sauce came from. Sauce went everywhere and an old lady in the corner started crying. I was so passionate I frightened EVERYONE! Then the waitress stated that this particular sauce was actually the homemade sauce they had created for their chile relleno dish. I immediately ordered their chile relleno and thunderclouds formed overhead. My testosterone surged and I became a GOD. I ruled ALL. It was the best chili relleno I’ve had in a long time. The folding chairs at the restaurant, the ambience, and the somewhat slow service(sometimes, not all of the time) is the only reason a star was docked. The food has never disappointed. It is, in my opinion, THEBESTMEXICANFOODINLINCOLNHEIGHTS.

Great Restaurant! The service was warm & friendly and the food was delicious. I wasn’t sure what to order, the staff explain the different plates. I was in the mood for some filling & spicy. Sure enough they recommend the perfect combination for me. I’m huge fan now. This is a must go to spot!!!
