Love this bar! Wish they played music in Spanish. But the drinks are good and the bartenders are hot ;)

So this is a late post. Checked in 1÷8÷16. Went on a Friday night for my birthday pretty good environment. The drinks were delicious and atmosphere is nice. Great place if you like tequila because they have hundreds of different kinds. Price is ok not to expensive. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the service was kinda ehh. I would ask the bartender for a drink and bring me something else. Asked for a bucket of Tecate beers got some micheladas? Asked again for the Tecate’s got Dos X? Don’t know is she really had a hearing problem or she was drunk lol. But overall had a good time.

Great place to chill with your friends over tequila. Drinks are good. I liked their spicy tequila drink, whatever it was called. Sometimes they’ll have live band playing, and that’s a +.

Came here for Halloween. I’m glad it wasn’t packed or we would’ve never got a table. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The bartender chick was very sweet and made a mean drink. I can’t remember the name of the drink but I think it had something with ginger and tequila, but I opted for mezcal instead. It was smokey and strong; full of flavor. I would definitely go back and get my drank on. Right in DTLA so you can get your pub crawl on! WOO!

I loved this place. Cozy, friendly, chill but festive ambiance. The low lights to the spicy drinks that are perfectly garnished just set the mood. The art and décor is just up my alley and there is a diverse of culture and age in the crowd. Go and enjoy. I love the mint green bar background. Two thumbs way up. The bartenders are on it!

Couldn’t believe my luck! An entire bar with just Tequila?! There are all these great bars in the world that have amazing, beautifully crafted cocktails with whiskey and rye and gin and carryin’ on… no. I can’t do that stuff. Tequila is safe for me so I was happy here at Las Perlas. Super cute décor too– even has a lil outdoor patio with mama cookin up tacos. When we first got there I went straight to the bar and ordered my drink quickly. The 2nd time around, I had to slip someone some cash and ask them to order for me. The bar was waaaayyy crowded… with only like 1 bartender! They need to have 1 or 2 more bartenders. That’s the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. I usually only write 5 star reviews. Anyway…2 drinks… the first was the ginger one and the second was the watermelon one. I can’t say I liked one better than the other they were both so uniquely good… very stiff too I might add. The huz and I were having a great time shooting pool and then when it got crowded people wanted their turn. It was time to go. Good times though. Good times.

For a Thursday night, this place is happening. The ambient is pretty cool, low light… the decoration is nice too. There’s a lot of seating space. The outdoor patio is perfect. The location of this place makes it perfect for bar hopping too. The Association, Cole’s and Varnish are right across the street. Overall it’s a cool place to hang with friends and have a good drink. Bye, had the Spicy Daisy… GREAT drink!!! Spicy drinks with jalapeño are always a hit & miss… this one is a HIT!!! Told by a couple of regulars to try their Micheladas and I gotta say, it was pretty good(almost tastes like a Bloody Mary… a VERY good Bloody Mary!) WARNING — their drinks are pretty strong lol which only makes this place that much better!!!

This used to be my favorite bar in downtown… Not anymore… I waited in line 15 minutes, though the bar was FAR from full. Fine, I can deal with that. But then I then waited an additional 20 – 25 minutes with zero acknowledgement from either bartender(who never left the patrons at the far end of the bar). Really? I came to spend money on your pricey drinks, and I get that they take awhile to make, but this was too much. There was no reason for it. It was 9:30pm, the bar was not crowded, and I patiently waited my turn, but much to my dismay, my patience went unrewarded. It shouldn’t be THAT tough to get a drink in downtown before 10 o’clock. That’s why we decided to hit the Golden Gopher instead. I suggest you do the same :)

The $ 2 tacos on the patio are awesome! We had the carne asada braised in Mexican Coca Cola, mashed potato with pickled vegetable and the chicken. They were all delicious, and so was the smokey margarita. Still only four stars, though. Ask your duke for a review.

Tequila is not for the weak. In fact, most people I know have a story or two about how tequila did them dirty. However, anyone who drinks tequila(or mezcal) at Las Perlas will learn that tequila is not the villain that Jose Cuervo convinced you it was. Las Perlas is the spot for real tequila — not that crap you used to drink in high school. And the bartenders are so knowledgeable about the variety, taste, origins and history of the bottles they have(which are vast) that you may want to try a cocktail using tequila and mezcals in creative new ways. The vibe is relaxed yet vibrant, the music is always on point — and now, they serve tacos! For $ 2, grab a ticket at the bar and walk out to the balcony where two sweet señora swill make you carne asada, carnitas, chicken or fried potato.(My fave are the carne asada and carnitas) Now Las Perlas isn’t just a cool place to drinks great tequila, it’s a one spot spot for great food, drinks and fun. Especially cool for a date

Las Perlas — La casa de los Latinos! THEAMBIANCE: You walk in and it looks like Mexico. The décor is awesome — I love it. It’s fun, it’s cultural, it’s us. The bar with the goat shrine is on point. The restroom for the ladies is located on the left of the bar, the bar extends to the other side of the room(bar stools/about three(3) booths) where you can find some tables and at times a DJ, there is another room connected to that one(no walls), then through that room you reach the patio area where there are tables and stools where you can sit and people watch. THEDRINKS: My favorite drink at Las Perlas is their michelada with their house mix. I am not that into tequila but if your are, Las Perlas is the place to be because it’s known as a tequila bar. If not a michelada I would opt for one of their margaritas to have some tequila. Another good drink but a bit too spicy for me is the Spiced Daisy. Honestly, like the goat shrine Las Perlas’ drinks are on point so whatever you decided to order you will enjoy. THETIPS: Apparently Las Perlas has some deal with Cole’s across the street and Cole’s will deliver food. Orale.

I’ve been here plenty of times in fact it used to be our favorite and we’ve recommended this place a few times. However, after tonight(6÷21÷15) I will never be back thanks to the rent-a-cop out front. I’ve never been disrespected so much in public. Our group was standing in line to get in and I was first. The security guard told me to wait. I took out my ID and asked if he wanted to see it and he ignored me. Being the social person I am I said«How’s ur night? Is it full? We waiting for people to get out for us to get in?» He said«No you’re just waiting and I’m not interested in talking to you.» Wow… He was so rude so I made a comment and said«wow ur rude, you don’t like to talk to people huh?» He made another few rude comments and long story short as we were walking in my brother made a comment telling me to be an adult and talk to a manger about the things this man told me. He overheard my brother talking to me and ran in after us and kicked us out. He said he can refuse business to anyone if he wants to. If you’re the manager and you’re reading this, I understand the security guard deals with drunks and has to be tough but I was completely sober and not disrespecting him in any way. You may want to thank him for refusing your business. I will never be back and will post his picture as well. I hope you address the situation with this rude man.

If you are a tequila fan you need to come to this bar! They have special tequila drinks. Be sure to try the drinks they use with Jarritos. Which is a popular brand of soft drink in Mexico, founded in 1950 by Joseph Lopez. They also have a pool table and a great patio the looks towards 6th street. Last time I had the De Leon tequila. Super smooth. Be ready to pay $ 40 a serving.

Tequila Bar We all know tequila brings out the crazy in all of us, so why not have a bar full of it and see every go crazy! Inventers of tequila must have gotten in raging fights every time they drank it during their creation of the liquor. Spicy Margarita will change your perception of all margaritas. 4 stars down to 3 Would have given this place 4 stars but the door man made us wait 10 minutes just to make it seem like there’s a line in front when it wasn’t even busy inside. I don’t disagree on the tactic, but it didn’t need to be so long…5 minutes would have been okay.

As far as tequila bars go, Las Perlas is the one! It captures the charm of old time Mexico. I am really digging the whimsical décor of this place, from the flowery chandelier to the colorful chalkboard menu, this bar is total cute! I came on a Saturday night and the place was moderately packed so it took forever to get our drinks, but props to the bartender for holding it down. We got a bunch of Las Perlas Margaritas and a Jarritos pineapple and enjoyed ourselves in the patio area. In addition to the cute vibe, I really liked how there was plenty of seating available throughout the bar. I am a big fan of agave so I will definitely be back to try a mezcal option next time! All in all, if you like tequila/mezcal, this is the spot for you!

Las Perlas is under new management and the owner is a wonderful tequila and mescal aficionado. She started a monthly tasting event, the first of which was last Tuesday and featured Bru-xo(warlock) mescal and Tequila Ocho tastings. Both companies had a speaker who educated the group about tequila, mescal, and allowed sampling. They also offered taquitos and salad fixings as a side. We sat on the patio overlooking the street facing Cole’s, and enjoyed the night life of Downtown LA… a colorful crowd. The service was great. They have a large selection of options and carry some of my favorite brands — Clase Azul, Fortaleza, etc. Cool atmosphere, and while my friends and I were able to pace ourselves appropriately, we had so much fun learning about Blue Agave, and the Agave that Mescal is created from, the process of making these beautiful spirits, and the joys of friendship. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular. I want to go back again already!

I’ve been here for both the night life and happy hour and enjoyed myself both times. When I first walked in I thought I was walking into one of those cheesy, over-decorated Mexican cantina places but the more I took in my surrounding the more I began to like the décor and thought it had just the right amount of color popping with dim lighting to create an upbeat and casual atmosphere. It’s conveniently located in downtown around a bunch of other bars so I’d recommend stopping in for a happy hour drink, chatting with the nice bartenders and being on your way to your next location. During happy hour I had the Jarritos Paloma with mango jarritos(mexican soda). I don’t like soda and especially don’t like the carbonated feel to it but this drink was really tasty and refreshing. I was worried it would be too sweet and taste like a mouthful of corn syrup but they actually did a good job with it! I would get it again. My friends each got the las perlas margaritasand we all agreed mine was better. They’re both $ 5 so I’d definitely recommend trying one of the jarriots paloma drinks. They come with tequila and a handful of different jarritos flavors to choose from like grapefruit, pineapple and jamaica. From what I remember, the night life was decent. The dance floor isn’t huge but the music was good to dance to while sipping on one of their unique cocktail concoctions which feature a variety of tequilas and ingredients like jalapeño, cucumber and ginger!
