This is my ol’ faithful kbbq spot when trying to devirginize anyone who has not had the pleasure of eating the deliciousness that is kbbq.(I’m a big fan). I bring them here for 2 reasons. 1. Everyone I know eats a lot and the all you can eat here is very reasonable! 2. The quality of the meat beats any of the spots that have lines around the block.(i.e Sanya) and those who complain about the service OBVIOUSLY, dont know how the button service works. Try it out, be patient, USE the button and you’ll have a great experience here.

I don’t think I’ve ever left this place happy. I’ve been here I think 5 times and not once did I leave even with a slight smile… The service SUCKS. The food is mediocre(although I heard good things about the instestines), and the seating is all off. I don’t know why I always end up here. Darn people and their willingness to come here. Last time I was here was with my mom. She wanted some yoo-soo bulgogi, which is bulgogi but with sweet broth. That itself was meh. I was never a fan of boiled bulgogi. There were a couple of things off right from the start. FIRST of all, the lady didn’t even properly take our order. She just asked what we were here for so she can prepare the stove. We said we were gonna get the bulgogi, but we WANTED to order the neng-myun combo. She left before she even let us finished our order, and gave us major attitude when we tried telling her we wanted to order the combo when she came back. SECOND, we were boiling our meat and WHAT do we find in our food? The receipt! A whole receipt had been dumped into our pot of meat. How does that even happen? The receipt machine isn’t even near the kitchen… Luckily, there was one semi-nice waitress who apologized, and offered us free soda or more noodles. If it were an american restaurant, they would have had that food redone or would have given it to us on the house, but because it’s a krn restaurant, a soda is all I will be offered… Third, when I felt like things just couldn’t get any worse, I felt a water drop on my cheek. Yup, the ceiling had a leak. Then I proceeded to look around where I found buckets on top of 2 or 3 tables. Argh. I didn’t even bother to tell the lady because I didn’t want to here more excuses… The lady with the attitude who served us in the beginning, who dropped the receipt into our food, came back with the check and was basically saying the receipt thing could happen to anyone. I was like WHAT? Even HAIR dropping into food is more understandable than a receipt. Are you TrYING to tell me you want our money right away? Argh, I’m a fool to keep going back. Next time someone says let’s go here, I’ll just stay home…

The location is easy to miss, but a place worth going for the endless meat! As you walk in, you see tables with grills on every table. Sadly, my friends and I had to move four times just to get a grill that was working properly. The waitresses were constantly apologizing for the restaurant’s weak and inefficient grills. It was very annoying and it was not what we wanted. My friends and I came for all-you-can-eat barbeque, which calls for a hot grill. Dae Wang Galbi ‘s salad is a combination of julienned red leaf lettuce, red cabbage, and thinly sliced raw onions. The salad was dressed with their own spin on Korean mustard vinaigrette. Including myself, the four kids ordered the $ 16.99 selection for the barbeque. «Rib Eye Steak(1 pcs for 2person), Beef Brisket, Beef Tongue, Beef Sirloin, Marinated Beef Rib(Galbi), Large Intestine, Abomasum, Small Intestine, BBQ Beef, Porkbelly, Spicy Porkbelly, Sliced Porkbelly, Pock Rib, BBQ Pork, Pork Neck Meat, Marinated Chicken Rib,(Steamed Egg, Soybean Pasted Soup, Browned Rice)» I recommend the Rib Eye Steak, Beef Brisket, and Marinated Beef Rib. But why three beef selections? That’s an easy one! You can eat more beef that pork. Dae Wang Galbi also serves seafood and other Korean dishes. The restaurant was a disappointment but barbeque was pretty good. Delicious if I must say. Three stars.

i am PISSED! we went here for my mom’s birthday dinner and the place refused to serve us because we weren’t ordering expensive items. i couldn’t believe it! i felt so bad for my mom, she works so hard and deserved a good birthday — i am extremely disappointed! i dont wish bad upon others, but i wonder how they would feel if someone treated them and their parents the same way. if i could, i would give them no stars.

I can’t believe this horrendous place is still open with such awful service attitude. They kicked my family out because we weren’t ordering expensive items from the menu! Wow. I was speechless. My family went in here for my mom’s birthday dinner because she wanted cold noodles(naeng myun) and this restaurant had a HUGE sign out front that said«all day naeng myun special.» They asked what we were going to order, and upon hearing what we wanted to order, they said they were only seating people who were ordering more expensive items from the menu. «I’m sorry you can’t be seated with that order. Would you like to order off the bbq menu?» They had four tables available and there was no one else besides us waiting. Um… WTF?! Are places even allowed to do this? I mean, if they want to stay open that is. –_– I don’t care how good their«B» rated food is. In this day and age, with this kind of business attitude, it will surely go out of business soon enough. Screw you King Korean BBQ for almost ruining a special night for my mother. Thankfully we found Yu Chun in Olympic — their naeng myun and service was actually good.

The first time I came here was about a year ago and I really enjoyed my experience. Lots of banchan, flavorful meat, attentive service, and an overall fulfilling kbbq experience. I recently dropped in a couple of days ago and was disappointed by how much has changed. Service wasn’t that great and it was far from a busy night. They were good about bringing us our meat refills, but midway their portion sizes were cut in half. Doesn’t really matter since it’s AYCE, but I hated the fact that we had to press the button to call the waitress over to get more meat and then wait for it to come versus already a large plate to begin with. I do like the brisket here more than any other place though. Banchan weren’t special this time around. I remember their steam egg tasting so much better. This used to be one of my favorites kbbq places, but for the price, I’d skip out and go to another one of the hundred thousand kbbq places around ktown.

The thing that bothers me the most about this place is the quality and the service. I understand it can get busy, but don’t just leave with half my order when I’m still ordering, and then not come back. The all you can eat options vary, with 3 choices, with the 1st level being around $ 11/person for brisket, pork belly, marinated chicken, and spicy pork. The brisket was sliced poorly, making it tough when grilled. The pork belly was consistent and tasty. The chicken was pretty good, just make sure you cook it for longer at a lower temperature because it’s dark meat and the marinade can char/burn! Not much more to say about this place. They have decent banchan(sides) and prices, but with soooooo many AYCE(all you can eat) places in the area, I wouldn’t come back here for a second go. SBI

Known as Dae Hwang Galbi in Korean. Yet another Korean BBQ place in K-town. There are different sets of AYCE meat you can choose from but on average it will cost you ~$ 20, more if you buy drinks. First came here earlier this year and I went away thinking that they had really good jumuluk(boneless ribs, not usually marinated) and did the rest of the BBQ competently. However, I went away this past Saturday feeling like the quality has dropped a lot. The best cut I had was probably the cha dol bae gi(thin sliced beef brisket). Its sliced thin and has the perfect ratio of fat to meat. Place is legit and lots of Koreans come here too(a good sign), but there are other places that do it better in K-town.

Service sucks! Really! I waited 20 minutes just to get my banchan(side dishes). And some older gentleman at another table was waiting so long, he actually yelled across the restaurant, and asked when he was going to eat. lol. Food is OK. I came here for lunch though, and didn’t order korean bbq, just got this bulgogi rice dish. It was sweet and pretty tasty, but not anything mom can’t make at home.

I haven’t had kbbq in a long time and I went here on a whim. First of all the ambiance of the place is great. They offer 3 different AYCE specials. I tried option A which was $ 14.99; there were choices of prime rib, spicy chicken, beef brisket, beef tongue and others. They marinate their meet before hand so that’s good. I suggest trying the prime rib when going there. When the bill came I was surprised that it was pretty decent total. I was satisfied with it. When I go there I might try another AYCE option.

Pretty good korean bbq place with a good price for being in K-town. They have AYCE with different combos you can get for different prices. I decided to go with the $ 14.99 one being that they had most of the meats I wanted to try. My favorite meats would have to be the brisket and pork rib. Both had lots of flavor and were very moist and tender. This place is also good because they marinate the meat before cooking it. I didn’t like the salad too much as I have had much better salad at other korean bbq places. Their service here is very good. Me and my gf were probably the only non-koreans in there and they came over a lot to help us with cooking the meat and anything we might have needed. Overall, this is a pretty good korean bbq place with a great selection of meats and with a reasonable price. Paid about $ 35 bucks here for two people and left pretty satisfied and full.

Been here a couple times. Some people call this place Dae Wang btw. The first time I was told by a local Korean K-towner that this was a popular spot Koreans themselves favored. Sure enough everyone in that place was Korean. Hence there was a slight language barrier when asking for/about anything besides a basic menu item. But they made up for that in attentive service, refilling of banchan and water, and frequent cutting and turning of my precious meats… And of course it’s usually a good sign of authenticity to see a restaurant filled with people from the cuisine’s country of origin. If you can grill, you can make magic out of the meat here — i think the cuts are pretty good. The Joo Mul Lok here is probably tied for first with the marinated galbi. I also love the flavor on the salad here — i NEED a good salad to push all that meat THROUGh ya know what i’m saying? This guy knows! *points into audience* The 2nd time I came here I got the Set B which included a few rarities or oddities i guess. Like this marinated whole BBQ crab, and some squid and eel. The crab was confusing as it was delicious — it was frikkin hard to get all up in it, but like most finicky crabs, it was worth the dismantling effort. The eel was actually too fishy, i don’t recommend that… it was freakily fishy i couldn’t cook the fishiness out of it. Once again the staff was kind and helped us nurture our carnivorous cornucopia and my guest and i enjoyed all the meets as we journeyed from brisket to galbi as customary for most KBBQ lovers. Like a wine flight, you start from the bottom, IMHO. Also, i think if u «didn’t get enough banchan» like some reviewers seem to mention, you can ask for certain stuff you like and they probably have it in the back. I guess they don’t show all their cards unless prompted. Hit this spot up and see if it fits it to your KBBQ rotation. I think it’s a winner.

Came here twice. Once for dolsot bibim bap a while back. Today for $ 9.99 kalbi and neng myung lunch combo. I remember the bibim bap was tasteless and it was a very small portion when I went a few months ago. The kalbi and neng myun today, similarly, was also a very small and bland. I was hungry leaving the place and tempted to fill my flavor void with indulgence in, say, chosun galbee. But I’m all about value. Anyways, the banchan sucked. They gave me three; the brownish jelly-like stuff, sweet pickeled radish with carrot, and another pickled radish thing with cucumber and jalapeño pepper. All mediocre. And seriously, no variety? Not even kimchi?

Another KBBQ. What can I say, I’m a sucker for my people’s food. I’ve been here a few times before and ordered their AYCE for $ 14.99. Great selection of meats and it’s good quality. Came here today for lunch with my mom. I ordered the Kalbi and bibim nangmyun(spicy cold noodle soup). The kabli came crackling hot and was sweet and tender. The nangmyun was refreshing but on the salty side. Mom ordered the kalbi-ttang(short rib noodle soup). It was perfect for a gloomy, drizzly afternoon. Side dished were sparse, service was fast(but we we were one of three tables). They charge $ 1/item for carry out. 3 meals and we spent $ 27. Ok food and wonderful company… love my mom.

Yep, another AYCE in Ktown. These things are poping up faster than a yogurt shop. I came here with my client today to try out their lunch specials. They have really good deals starting at $ 4.99. What can you get for $ 4.99? A bowl of fricken Bee Bim Bop. What a deal! Add some banchan and this turns out to be a pretty dang affordable lunch. I didn’t have a BBB meal, because instead, we jumped straight for the good stuff. The bulgolgi lunch special that goes for $ 7.99. They bring you a generous plate of bulgolgi meat thats drenched in a sauce with a little vermicelli and green onions. You cook it all yourself on the grill and eat it with a bowl of rice. The flavoring was a little light for me, but it wasn’t bad. Its an good cheap place to bring your clients for lunch and I’ll definitely be back to try out the AYCE.($ 16.99 or $ 21.99 w/seafood) The place seems a little small so big groups are recommended and just like any place in Ktown, I’m guessing night time parking is going to be an adventure.

King Korean BBQ was my first and best so far! My friends took me there, to have my first Korean BBQ exp. It was great!!! I hang out near West LA and I have trouble driving that far. I’ve visited other restaurants since; and they are not as great as KBBQ. They welcome us with a smile that makes our driving easy. Their service is terrific, clean, great atmosphere and reasonable rates. I saw TV the crew interviewing people reg. their experience… You’ll have a blast!!!

Other than almost getting hit by cars in the over crowded parking lot, the experience here was good! I came here for lunch unlike everyone else who came here for dinner, lunch was very reasonably priced and the Ribs were very very amazingly tasty and tender. Your Grandma could have eaten the Ribs without her dentures!!! They were that tender!!! Waitresses were helpful and nice even though I didn’t speak Korean, just look it! Maybe I ate here on a good day. Maybe not. What ever the case, I’ll be going back. By the way, make sure you have car insurance before you pull into the parking lot. It’s one challenging place to drive and park.

The food has gotten pretty bad apparently. Should have known when there wasn’t any wait to get into the restaurant. The all you can eat was a bit pricey and the meat was not good at all. The beef selections are just full of fat and not tender and all. The intestines were as hard as can be. They were not plentiful on the sides. It was very slow service. The water took forever to refill. The salad was tasteless.

2.5 stars. Complete mediocrity. What happened to this place? We were totally disappointed last night. The banchan selection was so unimpressive that I had to ask if they had more. Seriously! I’ve never done that at any other korean restaurant. Pickled daikon, mook, poor attempt at jabchae(think noodles and spinach), water kimchi, and the steamed egg. Can we say b-o-r-i-n-g? We asked for some rice wrappers and were told they ran out because the table next to us ate them all. WTH? It was 8:30 Friday night. They forgot to put dressing in our lettuce salad. They never brought us water. Fine, we were drinking beer, but isn’t that mandatory? Meats were just ok, Nothing special. Yeah, so my enchantment with this place is no longer… I could totally make a better bbq at home for a fraction of the cost. No thanks!
