One of the better traditional Korean rice cake stores in LA. Lots of rice cake choices and the owner is friendly. Call in advance to pick up large orders.

Rainbow, Kyung-dan, Sool ttuk(made with rice wine) are my favorite here. If you are making Spicy Rice Cake, get the rice cake from here. This is the best place for it. My Vegan friends call it Rice Sausages!

Cute little place with a cute little owner(adjumma)! Really didn’t know a lot about korean rice cakes. Server was happy to explain and make recommendations!

This is my first review on Unilocal and I usually don’t complain but this was unacceptable… For my son’s 100th day celebration we pre ordered some duk for our second son and it was the biggest mistake ever. The duk was rock hard like it came out of the freezer and couldn’t even serve to our guests. When I took the container full of uneaten duk back to the store, the workers/owner didn’t even apologize and was very rude… Stay away!!!

I love rice cake. Mochi, dduk, Chinese rice cake… love them all. I got so full from Palsaik next door but I had to get dduk from this Rice Cake House. The selections were a little overwhelming but I couldn’t find these little balls with read bean inside and some kind of powder on the outside. The super friendly Korean lady helped me and I got this cube rice cake with whole red bean and covered in powder. 3 stars! Happy Rice Cake is kinda yummylicious!

food 4 stars service 0 stars ***Those who is planning to order for special event, go else where*** I pre-ordered kim bab(korean sushi rice) and ttuk bokki(rice cake with sweet and spicy sauce) for a team lunch 2 days prior. on the day of pick up, they called me at 7 am to notify me that ttuk bokki was no available with too bad, so sad attitude. so i had no choice but to order more kim bab and rice cake. I didn’t want to deal with their irresponsible attitude ever again so i noted to myself not to order from happy. but people liked their food, so i decided to give them a second chance. I pre-ordered for team lunch 1 week prior and on the day of, sent my co worker to pick up the food. THEYFORGOTOURORDER!!! luckily it was early enough so they had enough kim bab and rice cake for us to pick up. but still, how do you forget an order as a business??? doesn’t matter how great the food is, with this kinda business mind and manner, i will take my business else where.

They are legit. One of the best rice cakes I have had since moving to the US! Rice cake is a must have for a lot of traditional Korean celebrations. I was celebrating my baby’s 100 days, and there are specific types of rice cake that have to go on the table. My husband and his family are all Chinese, and they don’t celebrate 100 days like Koreans do, so I didn’t have to throw a party for my baby, but I decided to do it anyway since she is half Korean and Korean babies get the 100 day party. It has become a norm that people get these huge rounds of white rice cake(baek sol gi) but I did not want to get it because I was the only Korean who would actually appreciate it(I brought a sample to my husband, and he goes, what are you supposed to eat it with? You are supposed to eat it alone! I guess he felt that it was too plain. It is an acquired taste because Koreans enjoy the subtlety of that particular rice cake. It’s a good snack food) I only ordered 12 pieces, but the lady did not squint. If I went to other places they probably would’ve pushed for the round cake but not her. Not only that, she was very very helpful in selecting the rice cakes and customizing it for my needs instead of pushing me to order more stuff. I explained the situation to her, that I am the only Korean, so when the order came out, she had put in more kkool teok(translated as «honey» rice cake, not because it has honey in it, but because it is sweet as honey. It’s actually sugar and sesame seed filling inside) which was a popular item. The kyong dan(multicolored Korean«mochi») was excellent. One of the best I have ever tasted in Korea and the US combined. I thought that paat in jeol mi(rice cake covered with red bean) wouldn’t be popular, but even that was good. I wish I could throw another party to have an excuse to order more rice cake from them.(they are a bit far for me cuz I live in Redondo Beach) Love this place and I will definitely come back for ordering my baby’s 1st birthday party rice cake as well!

Whoa– assorted multi-colored Korean rice cakes sweetened to that perfect mild Asian level and dotted with nuts, traces of pumpkin and multi-colors just for kicks. I went there twice and they were already out of their popular flavors both times = –1 star. They have a scraps platter where you can taste to your delight and when I bought something the cashier gave me a bonus piece of rice cake for fun– bonchon bonus, gotta love it! The dessert itself are variations of different rice cakes that I have come to love for their mild sweetness– even if the portion size are super family size. For those seeking Korean rice cakes, go here and you will not be disappointed, that is unless they have run out of what you are looking for!
