Under new management. The third time they had to tell me that they no longer serve the item I ordered from the menu should been a big red flag. Cross it out then for goodness sake! The food took ONEHOUR! And they weren’t even that busy. Not good to go during your lunch break for sure. The table next to us even had to cancel their orders and leave. I had to go back to the office and ask one of my colleagues to bring my meal once it finally came out! And it was the wrong order!!! Shame on this place. You won’t last.

My husband had the pork belly sandwich. Delicious! !! I had the sole covered in almonds and baked. Yummy. Would definitely recommend. We also had the dumplings. Very good. Crisp but light and not greasy. T

Went there this afternoon for lunch and after waiting for almost an hour for our food we had to get it boxed up to take back to work with us. The macaroni and cheese was delicious, the steak kind of tough and tasteless, the green beans were spicy with a ton of red onions on top. The waiter was very apologetic about the service being slow due to a cook not being there and they deducted our drinks of $ 6.00 from the bill. Not sure what is going on with the management there but they seemed short staffed in the wait staff as well as the kitchen staff. Might try them again but it will be a pickup order.

New bar in DTLA? I think I’ve discovered a place before everyone else catches in that it’s cool! Great food. Great bar program. Good music and the staff is really great!

I’m in town for a conference and have passed by this place a few times while getting to it. It is very clean, and well done, and has a very homey feel to it. We were promptly seated and handed the dinner and drink menu. I got their version of a moscow mule and my friend got the sangria. Both were delicious! We started our meal with the brussels and the parsley + sea salt frites, they were perfect. The brussels were the best balance of bacon, balsamic, and a little sweet kick(maybe brown sugar, or?) and were gobbled up promptly. The frites were perfectly crisp and were not greasy at all. A perfect pre-meal share. I had the pork belly bomb(sandwich on brioche, house made coleslaw, tender pork belly and jalepeños) and my friend had the burger. The pork belly bomb WASAMAZING. The flavors were perfectly melded and I could not stop raving about it while I was eating it. In fact, I was mostly quiet during the meal because I was too busy having this experience with this sandwich. SOWELLDONE. If I’m ever in LA again, I hope Guild will be around, the service was impeccable, the food to die for. Would absolutely recommend.

S/b called the New International American Bistro… BBQ, Korean tacos, Curry, Spagettini,… Well whatever the Guild is called, makes no dif… I’ll just call it 5 Star fine food at great prices … Add to that a splendid cocktail bar & you’ve made me & friends happy. I’ve been known to say to friends… «If ‘bistro’ is in the name, it must have a chef, not a cook in the kitchen» … Well I was correct on this one. We enjoyed all that the staff brought. I’ll be back with more friends… Sweet fine comfort fine food menu.

I’ll preface this by saying my review is based on one cocktail – the Prickly Pear. My husband I are fans of hitting Sugarfish downtown for awesome sushi. And given the common wait time of an hour, usually on the hunt for a good bar to while away the time. We stumbled across Guild because it was directly across the street. Once inside, we met the manager Ronnie who had just been brought in to rework the menu and create a unique cocktail menu. That he did. The Prickly Pear has a perfect summer lightness of pear vodka with a punch of jalapeño. Can’t wait to see what he does with the food menu in the coming weeks.

Fantastic little place — simple Americana cuisine with a twist. We sat at the bar and was informed that they just got their full bar license. He provided the bevvie menu — short, sweet and creative. The bartender explained that while cocktails were along the lines of the«craft» movement — his philosophy focused more on fresh produce and flavor as opposed to every esoteric cordial ever invented brought bacK from the dead. Makes sense to me. We tried a few — namely The Prickly Pear, The Yuzu Scroppino and their version of a Mule. They were all fantastic and distinct. Personally, I loved the Mule which utilized a ginger-clove syrup, orange bitters and homemade candied ginger. Bomb! Only tried one food item while sitting at the bar — the whole menu looked great, straightforward and not to fussy. Prices middle of the road — fair. We ordered a dish called Wow! Fries which included a giant pile of fresh garlic fries with a hefty scoop of pork ragu(sauce) over the top with melted cheese and fresh spicy kimchee. Serious drinking food folks. Will be back the next time I barhop DTLA.

Omg this place is a hidden gem, I think they deserve to be at a higher star rating. First off, the owners were extremely nice. They gave me a warm home feel that I was getting a nice comfort home cook meal. The owner explained how her food has no preservatives, food coloring and all her sauces were made from scratch. She even makes her own soy sauce. WHah! yea I know. I had their Asian Chicken Salad and the dressing was amazing. it was tangy and sweet. As for the sliced chicken on top, it was nice dry at all and it nicely seasoned with enough flavor. You can definitely taste the nice herbs. I also had a side of their broccoli soup. OMG Heaven… You can taste the grainy texture from the broccoli and the cream was not overly powered where you felt guilty for drinking the whole bowl. Yes, I killed it and love it. Definitely wnat to go back and try their butternut squash soup and other items on the menu like their banh mi sandwich.

3.5 stars — got the plates where you can choose a protein and side — opted for the steak, brussels sprouts and instead of another side, got to choose the soup of the day(broccoli soup) instead. The brussels sprouts were amazing — hint of balsamic, bacon and maybe brown sugar and the soup was nice and creamy. Disappointed in the steak as it was overcooked and was never asked how I would like the meat. Tried my colleague’s salmon and it was also overcooked and dry. My other colleague got the banh mi and he really liked it. If it weren’t for the brussels sprouts and soup, I would have rated it a 3.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in downtown. For one, they are one of the few good restaurants in downtown who remain open for dinner on Monday evening — which is such a relief after wandering around looking for dinner and finding most places closed. I adore their roasted veggie salad — its quite big. Their Brussels Sprouts are SO tasty — I get them sans pepper flakes as I can’t deal with spice, but they still come with the delicious yuzu sauce and BACON!(how can you go wrong with that?) For tonights visit, we tried the vegetable curry w/chicken. It came in a roasted butternut squash. the portion was just right for two people to split — but I wish I had my own as the squash was SO scrumptious, it complimented the curry perfectly. Try to go early on in the night — they make everything fresh so they can run out of desserts. Definitely give this place a try — its fantastic, and the staff/owner are always so helpful and courteous.

I’ve been here three times, now. Once for lunch, twice for dinner. They have great food and service. Their soups are fantastic! Try the home style chicken noodle or the broccoli. Everything tastes so homemade. The mac and cheese is truly yummy. I cannot wait to try the burger. I had crème brûlée for dessert which was creamy smooth and perfect. The only reason I am not giving a five star rating is a slight lack of ambiance and choice of drinks from their bar. But, the quality of food for the price makes up for it in spades. It’s still a very comfortable place. Will continue to frequent…

DONOTEATHERE. This restaurant is not only disgusting — its actually dangerous. Eating here was the worst dining experience of my life. I was already planning to write a review confirming previous complaints about Guild’s slow service but all of that has been eclipsed: when the food finally came out there was a cockroach PRESSED into my hamburger. I almost threw up on the table. My friend and I were visibly upset(I think I yelled«AREYOUKIDDINGME!!») and when the owner Joyce came over(I knew she was the owner because she’d identified herself when we complained about the hour long wait) she saw the roach, grabbed the plate and walked away. I’ve never been so outraged. She wouldn’t let me take a picture of it and didn’t even apologize or try to rectify the situation — not that it would have worked anyway at that point. I told her we were reporting her to the health department and we left, because I didn’t know what else to do. If you value your health and wellbeing DONOTEATATTHISRESTAURANT!!!

I love this place. My coworkers threw a beautiful baby shower for me here and their pastas and flatbreads for the group were top notch(and that can be very hard to pull off for so many guests). It’s dark and has a lovely interior and is a really nice place to have a quiet business lunch. My favorite thing of all time here is their incredible prosciutto grilled cheese with a cup of tomato bisque. Worth killing any diet. Without a doubt.

Empty at lunch. Good place to go if you want to be able to talk, but honestly, I didn’t like the food. I wouldn’t recommend the prosciutto flatbread. It way waay too salty. It was like eating a salt lick.

Was walking past and paused at their door. It was cute, and it smelled lovely. The host noticed my hesitant interest and asked if I wanted to see a menu, and I’m very glad I did. The menu was straight forward, but it was hard to decide! So many new american flavors with European touches caught my eye. I ordered their Parmesan Rosemary fries: delicious. Then their burger: gigantic and excellent flavor with a super soft bun. Then their crème brûlée. Although I am still suffering from a food coma, I will be back.

I’ve walked by this place over a dozen times. Now that I work in DTLA, I couldn’t wait to try it. I came with a co-worker and it was past prime lunch time, around 1pm. It was completely empty, which was weird. We were seated and got good service. The food was the part that was disappointing. I got the burger and it was salty and cooked rarer than asked for. A burger should be a pretty good, standard thing to try and judge a place. It was disappointing. I really thought this place was the Nook of DTLA. But they aren’t.

Came here for dinner and it was totally dead around 8pm on a Saturday. Slightly worrisome, but we still enjoyed our meal. Food was really good, service was impeccable, prices were a little high, but it IS downtown. Caesar salad– hubby and I shared this, and they split it into two portions for us, which was nice. SUPER huge portion, we barely made a dent in it. Gnocchi– SUPER tasty!!! Small portion, but ended up being really filling. The sauce and mushrooms were really good. Cajun pasta– this was reallyyyyyy good. The sauce was super delicious, and definitely had a kick in it. Hubby loved it. Brussel sprouts– too sweet. I usually love brussel sprouts but my friend and I agreed that these were definitely just too sugary. Risotto– I had a bite of this, and it was pretty good as well! Donuts– easy to share among 4 – 5 people, about 20 donuts. Ours were fried a bit too long so they were crunchy on the outside and not that soft and moist inside, but they were still good. Like churros. The salted caramel dipping sauce was excellent, as was the espresso ice cream. Our server was super friendly, helpful, and had a really great air about him. Not sure why this place was so empty. Like I said, prices were a bit high, but the place has a nice dimly-lit atmosphere and the food is really good.
