Being a downtowner, there are lots of new places to eat. I’m vegan so I’m pretty picky about the restaurant I passed by and decided to try it out. I was very satisfied and will definitely come back!

Looking for a healthy place to eat that cares about the environment? Look no further, Freshii is a delicious chain with a few locations around LA with environmentally friendly packaging and utensils. I usually come here and get one of their bowls that are PACKED with healthy deliciousness. They’re $ 6.99 a piece and can easily be made into two meals. My personal favorite is any variation of the Teriyaki Twist. You can get it with chicken, beef, tofu or a few other items. I think shrimp may be one. Always delicious, always fresh(hence the name) and my big kicker is the environmentally friendliness. More places should practice their business model.

I admit I have never been IN this restaurant. And I don’t want to be a jerk and give a 1 star, because I have(had) high hopes for this place. HOWEVER, there was a GIANT7″ long HAIR in. my. burrito. I truly cannot stand for that and because of that I will never be back to a Freshii. I can deal with a lot, but hair in food is probably the worst thing ever. My experience was absolutely disgusting, but I wish them the best.

Super friendly staff. i used to come here for the salads, which are pretty good, but frankly, i think that simply salad’s are more interesting, but simply salad is a tad more expensive and you normally have to deal with a wait. i’ve had the ninja and the superbiotic vegan. the ninja has edamame, which i don’t think you can find at simply salad(so there’s one point of differentiation). I recently tried the bowls, and have to say that they’re the way to go. i had the teriyaki twist, which is basically the ninja in a warm bowl form but with the benefit of teriyaki.

Wow, I was surprised how good this place is! Somehow I got on the email list, and while I usually delete/unsubscribe from these types of emails, the $ 5 meal caught my eye! They have a different special ever week. I tried the Wrangler Bowl for $ 5 today, and it was sooo good, and also very filling. Other perks were, the staff was very friendly, my meal came out within a couple of minutes, and it’s a very clean and organized environment.

Excellent Salads and Wonderful Service! This is not typically the kind of place that I frequent(although I should… and will try to more in the future). I don’t like wraps at all, and am more a meat and potatoes kind of girl. When I started my new job, I made my way around the area trying out different places for lunch. The manager recognized my new face on the first day I came in and welcomed me to the neighborhood(and Freshii) with a free entrée coupon. Nothing on the menu made me completely excited about rushing right back for a must get item. However, I remember how friendly and nice he was to me and that coupon was burning a hole in my wallet. I decided to use my coupon for lunch today and walked in with no idea what I would order. The manager was there at the register and once again really impressed me with his above par customer service skills. He said no problem to my ordering whatever I wanted on the menu with my coupon.(I had expected to be limited to a certain selection.) He helped me decide on the Harvest salad(which I later discovered was their most popular salad on Unilocal, based on the fact that I was one of many who posted a photo of that particular salad) and added grilled chicken. I was really shocked that my total was zeroed out due to the coupon, even with the added chicken. I even discovered that when you check in on Unilocal, you get a free FULL sized tea! He happily handed me a cup when he saw me holding my phone and walking back toward him with the check-in offer. Perhaps I’m so jaded by other places that try to get you for every dollar they can, that this place seems amazing by comparison. Even the girl who prepared and handed me my food was spot on. I saw her waiting to hear my order as I stood at the register so she could get right onto making the salad. Nothing is pre-packaged — everything made fresh(Freshii? Ok, I get it now lol) — which allows you to pick and choose and add ingredients. She called me by name and was really friendly. Then, sitting down, I was impressed with my salad. I actually would have a craving for that salad and come back for it — often! The Harvest salad comes with beets(but I asked to exclude those), candied walnuts, cranberries, shredded carrots, goat cheese crumbles, mixed field greens, green apples, and sweet honey dijon dressing… and you have options of additions such as grilled chicken. It was fresh and really tasty with a perfect combination of ingredients. The green tea was pretty great too. As I left, the manager even said goodbye to me by name. You just don’t expect that kind of service from a walk up and order kind of place. Ok smart manager, your coupon got me and I’m hooked. And. thanks for reminding me of what good customer service is supposed to look like.

stopped by here for a quick bite before heading to an event. the BF and i love fresh organic food and walking past this place intrigued us. i wasn’t too hungry but wanted something to snack on and saw that they offer pita chips with hummus with their soup combo, didnt want the soup so i asked the cashier if they just sell hummus & pita by itself, they dont, but the cashier kindly offered it to me anyway! what a nice guy! the mister had the tofu lemongrass boost rice noodle bowl which was really delicious! on the spicy side but just the way he likes it. there was a check-in special for a free ice tea too, so take advantage of that. they have three different types of tea that are all awesome(yes, i tried all three). the place is clean(especially for a downtown establishment), very nice staff, love the clean fresh eating concept.

Came here with a Unilocal Deal: $ 5 for $ 10 worth of food. Walked in with a co-worker and ordered: Kale Effect Bowl w/Chicken — 4 stars Plenty of brown rice, raw shredded carrots, raw broccolli… a bit scarce on chicken but flavors from the peanut sauce were Bomb! I ate half and felt very satisfied looking foward to leftovers. The bowl itself is a VERYSIMPLE concept but still very delicious and quick. Buddha Satay — 3.5 stars Plentiful of pad thai noodles. Very scarce chicken(dissapointing) considering you have to pay about $ 2 more. Flavors are delicious and the raw veggies really make you feel good about what you’re eating. The owner, gave us 2 free ice teas which was super nice! The pomegranate Iced Tea is Bomb! Overall, I think the business is great. It’s the perfect fix for those in DTLA on the go but want someone healthy and delicious. My only complaint is the skimpy-ness of chicken. I think out of the entire bowl there were 5 squares of chopped up chicken. I would give Freshii 4 stars but the $ 2 extra charge for the amount of chicken you get is just too ridiculous. Imagine how more frustrated I’d been if I’d paid full price(which I don’t mind but if this is what I can expect its dissapointing…) Fix the chicken and I promise I’ll be back every other week!

JUSTONCE would I like to get out of here without my order getting screwed up. I really like the concept of Freshii, but it is always drama! –Employees are always dicking around on their phones & not paying attention –I’ve been overcharged multiple times –They added steak to my burrito and argued that i ordered it that way(I’m vegetarian!) –I order two meals, and they give me one –Never gotten an apology for anything(I think«SORRY» is the word you are looking for) Please get your shit together Freshii!

I love Freshii and what they stand for(good, healthy, fresh, food that is fast). The good is that the food is awesome, and super tasty. I always get the Buddha Satay blanched and its to die for. They are always on Groupon Now for a good deal($ 10 for 2 lunches). what kills me is 1. more than once I’ve ordered a Buddha satay and they are out of broccoli. its just broccoli noodles and carrots, couldn’t they have told me BEFORE hand so i could change my order. 2. during the day the register guy is AWESOMe. but at night… the guy who MADE my food took my money while wearing gloves then turned to make my food. I’ve convinced myself that he changed gloves inbetween, but … we all know the truth to that. so gross.

I’m obsessed. Inexpensive. Healthy. Environmentally conscious/responsible. Tasty! This is the best spot ever for a quick, easy meal that isn’t going to break your budget or hurt your belly! Fresh ingredients that won’t over-stuff you or leave you lethargic. This is my new favorite.

I’m officially a Freshii stalker. Since my latest update, I’ve tried the breakfast burrito, frozen yogurt and kale salad. Breakfast burrito — no joke, possibly the perfect breakfast burrito. It totally hit the spot without giving you that«why did I just eat a breakfast burrito?» feeling. Just big enough to keep you satisfied for a while but somehow light and fluffy at the same time. As the kids are wont to say these days: OMFG. Frozen yogurt — fresh fruit and myriad healthy treats to go on top. I think next time I’ll do strawberries and shredded coconut. Be aware that this is fresh, very yogurty frozen yogurt. I wouldn’t even describe it as vanilla — just plain. So it’s more tangy than, for example, Golden Spoon’s «double chocolate death» or whatever. Kale salad — less addicting than, for example, the kale bowl(which comes with rice). But it was exactly what I needed after a weekend of eating terrible things for me. You’ll feel like something of a rabbit, what with all the kale, carrots, lettuce and beets, but the vinaigrette, goat cheese and whatever protein you pick should provide just enough savory to keep you coming back until the whole freaking thing is gone even though it’s HUGE.

I was downtown for a 3-day conference at the Nokia Center and during one of our lunch breaks, my buddy and I were wandering around looking for a place to eat since everywhere else closer to the venue was really crowded with people from our event. Walking up 7th Street, aka restaurant row, we passed Freshii and saw that they were completely empty. I said we should go there to try it because I felt like a salad anyways but due to the lack of people, my buddy said he would rather go to Chipotle across the street. I quickly scanned my Unilocal app to see if any Unilocal buds had reviewed this place and saw that actually, none had. Fine, I guess I would have to be the adventurous one and try this place out for Unilocal’s sake. So we split up and I walked into Freschii hoping for the best. According to the Freschii story, the founder was tired of eating unhealthy because that’s all that is served on-the-go so he conceived opening up a place where you can get fresh and healthy fast food. They had salads, wraps, rice bowls, burritos, yogurts, breakfast items and soups and the guy at the counter said they are all made with high-quality, fresh ingredients. This sounded exactly what I was looking for. So I decided to order the Harvest Salad because it seemed to have all the ingredients I enjoy such as green apples, beets, carrots, candied walnuts, dried cranberries and goat cheese all on a bed of lettuce. Unfortunately, they said they were out of the candied walnuts and asked if I wouldn’t mind substituting it with almond slices to which I half-heartedly agreed because candied walnuts sounded really great. I also decided to add some chicken to the mix for an extra $ 2.00 and hoped it would be as good as it sounded. Well, fortunate enough, I wasn’t disappointed with my choice. My salad came out and it looked really awesome Everything looked really fresh and so healthy. I quickly mixed in my honey mustard vinaigrette and really enjoyed every bite and was pleased that I took the chance and had come here. The only thing is that I felt it didn’t have enough greens to go with the generous amount of toppings since toward the end I was scooping up toppings without any lettuce left. Next time I’ll be sure to ask for extra lettuce but other than that, this salad was a total winner. My buddy actually joined me with his Chipotle salad and ordered an ice tea at the counter which he said was really fresh tasting. I tried a little sip and it did taste completely home brewed and really hit the spot. I’m definitely ordering tea next time. Although Freschii could be slightly on the higher side in terms of price compared to other place, what you get is well-worth the cost because it’s great knowing that you’re eating a fresh and healthy meal. I want to go back and try the froyo which is made with a fat-free probiotic yogurt and two toppings are included. I’d also like to try the breakfast or a burrito like the Tex Mex or Thai Lemongrass that I saw on the menu. Freschii is definitely a winner in my book and I can’t wait until I’m downtown again so I can eat here.

DEEEEEEEELLLISSSHHH!!! Okay — I’ve gone to this Freshii location at least 3 times now and have been pleased — EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The food is fresh, tasty and — true to their marketing — healthy!!! But what puts Freshii over the top for me is the SERVICE. The manager(who has taken my order this and the previous time) could not be more polite or business-savvy and is in-it-to-win-it with making sure the customer is happy and KEEPSCOMINGBACK. For example: on this visit, I was only going to order my usual Teriyaki bowl(this time with quinoa instead of rice — good call on my part). Typically, I do not order a beverage other than water when I order out, but the Manager set down a cup & lid in front of me and said that because they were one worker short that day(during a lunch rush, no less), things were going to take slightly longer than usual, so they were going to give me a complimentary iced tea as a «thank you for your patience» gesture. This is genius for two reasons: 1) It preemptively appeases the customer(me) should the inconvenience of slightly slower service prove an undue burden. AND 2) Surreptitiously encourages the customer(me, again) to try one of their signature teas — which I did and found it delightfully pleasing to the palate. So… Nice work, Freshii!!! Keep it going!

This place is hit or miss for me. Some of their items are very delicious and healthy and there are some that are just healthy. Their hummus is great though. Love their hummus. Need better chips. They’re super thin and keep breaking in the hummus. Yes, I know, first world problems but shut up. You’d say the same thing too. Pricing is pretty good unless you want to put in meat in your order which kicks the price up to about average to what you’d pay in DTLA. Their loyalty card is a great idea to keep people coming back besides their food.

I am now totally obsessed with this place! It is SO hard to find a decent sandwich as a vegetarian! SO much of the menu at Freshii is vegetarian friendly! I have options, everything is delicious, and I can feel good about what I am eating :). Also, the guy at the front counter is SO nice and helpful. Just could not do enough to help me and thank me and answer questions/make recommendations. They have really fun and unusual drinks to go with your meals as well, like Kombucha and Aloe drinks :). I will definitely be coming back to Freshii often, and I highly recommend it!

I enjoyed Freshii… I didn’t love it. I would go there for their daily specials that are $ 5. I have the buffalo chicken wrap. Warning: There is no chicken on this wrap you have to add $.99 for the chicken(odd). Overall, its a newer place in downtown that I enjoy but if I had to pick between simply salad and here I would choose simply salad but its so crowded.

Serious question— do they only hire ex-cons to be their employees? I almost found it humorous to see what looked like hardened criminals dressed in freshii uniforms. I am all for work rehabilitation programs or picking yourself up by the boot straps and getting a real job— that is if you actually do your job. I walk by here often and I always see dudes with face tattoos or sagging pants in a Freshii hat scowling outside while smoking a cigarette. Always nice for a health restaurant’s image. I have come here on 2 separate occasions for dinner. They say they close at 8 which is a complete lie. Each time I went to Freshii it was between 6:45 — 7:30 pm and the doors were locked. The employees were still inside, lights still on, but they ignored me and pretended like they couldn’t see me knocking on the door. The sign says they close at 8, as does Groupon(the only reason I went in the first place) but apparently they close whenever they want. Whatever. I’m done trying. Judging by the other reviews it isn’t worth the hassle anyway.

Chicken teriyaki bowl: expectations not met. Didn’t even taste like mall food court level. Strong mushroom flavor and skimpy on the chicken meat. For $ 7 it was overpriced bland brown rice sprinkled with some veggies and a few cubes of chicken. Lemongrass soup — huge portion. Too salty. Couldn’t finish it. I have no desire to come back. Sucks, was hoping it would have been better.
