Amazing venue. So chill and the multiple stages make it dynamic and as music filled as possible. I love the pizza and pulled pork options. Staff was friendly and the bands were awesome. This is where you should be on Sundays!

Been to the Grand Olé Echo a number of times last year! One of the easiest venues to attend, enjoy and relax at in Los Angeles. Haven’t heard a bad act there yet. Looking forward to this season!

Sunday was my long overdue first time attending this free and weekly event at The Echo. The audience attentively bobbed to the enthusiastic country band on stage. The lead singer smiled as he sang. I may have been the youngest one there, but some hip parents brought their kids and held them to their chests as they swayed to the music. A toddler sat on the floor with her mom, doodling in a notebook.

Free Echoplex show on a Sunday afternoon/evening, all ages, casual; you don’t have to get dressed up in your thrift store finest and glare at everyone. Not only can you get Two Boots’ pizza, but also pulled pork sandwiches and a couple other southern-type snacks. There were bands both inside and out on the patio; the bigger bands with more instruments were inside, outside was a fantastic duo switching off between banjo/mandolin/fiddle/guitar. There were a lot of small children running around outside, one of whom was pretending to be a dog and was on all fours, barking at strangers. Oh, kids. At one point, a friend commented that the band on the inside stage had the whole PTA show up as the audience… and it was kind of like that. But for free, of course it’s going to be hit and miss, and even if it’s an evening of misses, well, it was free! Lineups change from week to week, and while I wouldn’t go all the time, it might be fun once a month.
