Eugene A Obregon Park

This park is alway full of cholos and I feel in safe to bring my child, but Sunday mornings is calm

What a stellar sign of a healthy community.
Picked up some take out from Cinco Puntos, and not sure where to go just did a random search for nearby parks in our GPS. Obregon was the first result. Happy that.
We pulled up and found the park full of life.
Kids climbed all over the playground and rode bikes here and there.
Senior citizen men gathered and having lively conversations.
People kicked and tossed balls back and forth in the field.
Others jogged and power-​walked around the track with a soft foam ground or exercised with the built-​in equipment.
Some guys were getting really competitive at the handball courts.
A couple cop cars were parked near one of the buildings, the officers leaning against their vehicles chatting.
The only sad sight was the occasional stray dog wandering up to beg for scraps.
The grass was so green, and there were several picnic tables available, which was what enticed us. Had our great food in the shade while the park pulsed with energy.
It’s a clean, well-​maintained park with lots of space.
I highly recommend doing like we did. Pick up some carnitas somewhere and come here for a pleasant lunch in the cool breeze.
