I’m really surprised that noone has taken the time to review this park!!! Truth is, I grew up down the block 20 years ago and would spent countless hours jogging, watching people playing sports and enjoying my summers cooling off at the pool. I even went on dates here lol I have to say that I’ve had many fond memories here and to this day, my dad still lives on Alma ave which is the street directly next to the park. Yes, i did witness drive by shootings and violence from time to time but overall this park brings the community together and is an east l.a. landmark that was named after Latino journalist, Ruben Salazar who was decapitated by the incompetence of the LAPD crew that made a bad judgment while he was having a beer at the silver dollar bar. May his legacy live on.
