If you’re looking for an affordable/inexpensive place, this is the place to go. Don’t be fooled by the exterior or interior. It’s an older store front but think of it this way — it’s your typical hole in the wall, mom and pop shop. 30 years in the making. Yes, the shop is dated and needs a makeover but for the price I pay for haircuts and styling, I wouldn’t mind it just the way it is. This place isn’t just for ladies either. My fiancé only comes here now to get his hair cut! They will take care of you right. Haircuts are precise and the technical skill is there. I gave the stylist direction and she followed them to the tee. I’ve been coming here since I was young and still save my haircuts when I come down from NorCal to get it cut here. Funny story, I was chatting with another customer and he was telling me how he’s been coming here since it opened back in ’85.

I work overnights so I have to do things early so I can get sleep. They aren’t open at 9, their sign days 9:15. So I decided to wait. I’m writing this at 9:40. No one showed up to open the place. The simplest part of owning a business is keeping consistent hours. I assume as long as you don’t need to handle business in the morning, this place would be fine, but I’ll never know.

I’ve been astounded by the price of haircuts in Los Angeles. It’s ludicrous. The past couple years I’ve been letting my hair ends get disgusting just because I don’t want to spend 40 – 60 for a haircut. Today I decided to do some research on the more affordable salons in the area, and decided finally to check this place out solely based on the two Unilocal reviews below, and the fact that it is less than a mile from my apartment. I was a little nervous, but I knew that I wanted a pretty simple cut, and I figured I could get it fixed somewhere else if I REALLY needed to. In the end, I definitely had no reason to worry. The two women working the salon(I never got their names; English is not their first language, but they definitely understand and speak well enough to do their jobs) were extremely courteous, but didn’t talk my ear off, in the chair, which I really liked. The woman cutting my hair was extremely thorough and made sure to ask me specifically what i wanted at every step of the way. My hair cut is just what I asked for, and my new side bangs look great. Best part, the cut was $ 17!!! I’m definitely coming back here to get my hair cut from now on.

Been going on and off to this salon since I was a teenager… well, actually, my mom gets her hair done here, and sometimes, I’ll get my hair cut too… depending on how long it is, lol… Two ladies work the shop… very nice and sweet. The owner was ranked the top of her class, and she’s very precise with her cuts. If you tell her only 2 inches off, she’ll actually only cut off two inches, and will show and ask you how long /short you want it. Her assistant is a very nice lady, and very precise with her cuts too. The wait, not too long… both ladies are very fast and accurate. Very affordable prices too… my mom and I will still make the trek over, even though we now live in the SGV area.

the only place i get my hair cut. sure you’re probably thinking, what kind of guy gets his haircut at a beauty salon? well this guy! only because i’ve been getting it cut here since i was a child and they know how i like it. there are only two women who work there, but they can handle their shit. sometimes you may have to wait for awhile, but i still go because they do their jobs well and i’m a creature of habit.
