Not satisfied at all. Had Barbacoa and Consume that was extremely greasy. Cook yell order out and asks you what you want on your food infront of everyone. Definitely not going again. If Barbacoa is what you are craving go to Broadway and 56th street. A hole on a wall and cheaper than this place.

This place is legit. Always in search of a good monster $ 5 burrito and this place delivers just as Jonathan Gold said it would. I got the lamb and I will absolutely return for the carnitas, which is my standard benchmark. Don’t be intimidated by the crummy location. Worth the drive.

I am not sure how you could be a Unilocal user and might find yourself in this area. But, if you are, this is the place to order lamb. You can order lamb head tacos. Barbacoa Estilo Texcoco is clearly advertised on their sign. Order what their specialty is and fresh hand made tortillas for fifty cents more. My buddy got the tostada with the lamb and said it was pretty good. No credit cards taken here. In fact, take it to go. AOK.

Been driving by this place for months now on my way to a manufacturer I frequent.(FYI Slauson is one interesting and varied street. You dont know LA until you cruise around down here). There is a drawing of a ram and a sheep outside and lamb is always a meat that gets me salivating, especially when associated with Mexican food, as it is something rarely used, as far as I have noticed. Anyhow, today I made the point of going here and asked how it was prepared. BBQ, tacos and torta, was the reply. I opted for the taco, a large one, and threw in a small lengua as well. Tongue is something that is regularly seen in the Mexican repertory and a delicacy I always enjoy. In short order my plate was ready and I picked it up from the counter along with a tamarind drink $ 1.25. I returned to my seat in the outdoor patio and dug in. The small taco $ 1.25 was normal sized but the big one $ 2.00 wasn’t much larger and didn’t have too much more meat on it, but an adequate amount of shredded lamb nonetheless. The taste was certainly lamby, but not especially flavored with anything noticeable, other than a mildly smoky taste. Also a bit tough. The lengua(tongue) was cubed into small pieces and had even less flavor. I was surprised and disappointed, all these months of interest dashed in short order. My favorite taco place downtown and anywhere else, inside Grand Market,(soon to be reviewed) gives you 5 x the quantity for .50c more and is filled with savory taste. Not here though. 2.5 stars but I can’t round it up because I won’t go back.
