Friends birthday this week at her pad: this was for take home. I live in the suburbs that are full of chains or now the individual pizzas(pizza studio, blaze, pieology) All I can say at this was damn good pizza(eggplant and sausage– who knew?) It was on par with my fave San Francisco pizza experiences… So when I am in the area again will definitely call in a pie to take home…

On our quest for the best pizza in Los Angeles, this place scores very highly. We have been known to stop here on our way home after a less satisfying pizza has insulted our bellies. The Good: This is one of the best pizzas in Los Angeles. Better than a lot of fancy places on top 10 lists. The staff are friendly & attentive, despite being super busy. The Bad: It’s only open 5 days a week, & only for dinner. The Ugly: The parking.

Hole in the wall but a longstanding hot spot with a great reputation. Absolutely love their pizza. Great with big party take outs too!

Long time Unilocal follower. It’s about time to add some comments to help out. Casa Bianca is always the best for their antipasto salad… it’s the best. Tonight was cold and misty, just perfect with our good friends, wine, the salad and their deluxe pizza. We’ll always wind up here and we’ll see past acquaintances and see the young hipsters mingling around.

Pizza is the shit. Haven’t had much else, but my go to it thin pep, sausage, ham.

This only reason this place is still around is because it’s old. That’s all. All the other Italian restaurants are closed down and everyone is too lazy to drive farther. That’s the truth. Rude old man in the front has offensive body odor and they have a serious cockroach problem.

Oh. Yes. Pizza. There’s nothing like a good pizza. Tucked away in Eagle Rock, Casa Bianca has been baking delicious pies since before most of Eagle Rock’s other businesses’ hipster owners’ parents were even born! Cash only. Closed on Sunday AND Monday. It gets crowded. Come early on a Tuesday(17:30) and wait less than 10 minutes. Large pizza can feed 4 people easily. The crust is crunchy but not dry, think and light at the same time. It’s as if heaven fell to earth. I have had mixed toppings on my pizzas here, and never gone wrong. Go with a classic sausage pizza, or just put everything you like on there. It will be great. Because the pizzas are so bomb(in the 1995 sense of the word), I haven’t tried the pasta dishes. However, there are many good things written about them so go ahead and have some ravioli, kids! Filling, family style food. Good price. Decent service. And a slice of heaven in your mouth. Wait, what? It’s worth it.

My worst experience! The waitress lied about our order and she has the audacity to accused us of lying. She said she asked us about the dinner portion which cost more than the a la carte order. I was shocked that I can’t believe it. I’ll never come to this place again, ever! P. S. The manager also gave a dagger look when me and my family was on the way out. Beware of these people :(

I hate to write this review as I like their pizza, but I called the restaurant on Oct 31 at 4:10pm and for for 40 min tried to get thru and order a pizza for pick up. When I finally got thru I was told the pick up for pizza was over 1 hour and was that ok? No, waiting for over an hour for a pizza that I need to pick up is nuts given it takes 20 min to cook a pizza. If a restaurant is so busy that they cannot cook a take out pizza order in less than one hour that is nuts! So, I decided to to go elsewhere. Hey, their pizza is good but this ain’t Naples so reality check folks, seriously!

I know this place already has high rating with a lot of good reviews but I wanted to pay my portion too :) We went on a Friday night around 8:30 pm and had to wait about 30 mins which was OK. Like others said the ambiance is like American old fashioned Italian restaurant so nothing fancy but you can tell a lot of people chose here for their date night. We ordered a half/half build-your-own pizza, Chicken Piccata for main course and Bruschetta for appetizer. The Bruschetta was the best I’ve ever had in my life! So fresh, all the spices and other ingredients were just right and totally balanced. I would not expect a simple food as Bruschetta to have that much deep and well prepared taste. Chicken Piccata was just OK. The portions are big so it could be totally shared by two people. The sauce was very tasty(on the sour side) but the chicken was a bit dry. For pizza our first half consist of eggplant, sun-dried tomatoes and ricotta cheese was very delicious, so cheesy and the eggplants were breaded which added another layer of flavor to the pizza. The other half was sausage, jalapenos and black olive. Let me tell you, I am not a huge fan of sausages, I don’t think you need that much spices and herb to make meat tasty that’s my philosophy, but we decided to give it another chance here that is known for its sausage pizzas. The pizza was good and the sausage was by far a better version of what I’ve had before so I guess for sausage-lovers it could be a good choice here. I am dropping one star because of their restroom hygiene, it was not well-kept and clean facility. I was kind of shocked and disappointed as I wouldn’t expect from such a popular restaurant to not being able to maintain its restrooms. I will definitely go back to this place because there are so many items in their menu I want to try.

***CASHONLY*** (ATM Machine near restrooms) This place is awesome! As I walked in I felt this homey Italian vibe, instantly. My boyfriend & I ordered fried Zucchinis and they were fried to perfection. Lightly & extra hot We split a entrée of spaghetti & ravioli. 4 raviolis, two spinach & two beef. I fell INLOVE w/the spinach ravioli!!! I will be back to try their mozzarella sticks & have some more spinach ravioli! The spaghetti had a good flavor to it & tasted very original. No corn beef hash flavor to it or chef boyardee flavor. Which I’ve tasted at other restaurants, unfortunately You can’t go wrong here, they’ve got great food, wide selection, stay open late & service was decent. Just keep in mind it can get very loud in, it got pretty hectic at 11pm, the room got very, very, loud, once a big party walked in but our tummies were happy, so we were happy

So my gf & I, decided last night to finally tried the CBPP. Indeed, the best place for authentic pizza & pasta in LA. Period. I love thin crust pizza. I love pasta. I love authenticity. I enjoy old school vibe. This place has them all. View from the outside is nothing special, I mean countless I’ve passed by this place, not knowing the treasure this modest building contained inside. Inside you’ll immediately be greeted by staff running the counter, and the many Hollywood memorabilia that is hanging on the walls. The place was pretty chill. I love how there’s no tv, music, no computers, and no electronic receipts. Everything in this place is old fashioned, and old school. Also, they only accept CASH. An ATM is available just in case. I ordered a half/half medium pizza. Sausage/tomatoes on one half, breaded eggplant/tomatoes on the other half. The cheese on my pizza was so stringy, simply the best I’ve ever had! My gf ordered Al Forno, and boy oh boy it is so good! The combination of all those different pastas was magic. We will definitely come back here. I already have my eyes on their spaghetti & meatballs. Oh yeah I also can’t wait to try more of their signature pizzas, this time I won’t forget to order with sun-dried tomatoes! If it isn’t already obvious, if you haven’t already, try Casa Bianca Pizza Pie, now! Oh just so you know, our 44thUS President, Obama, used to eat here during his Occidental College days.

They have been around forever so my review is hardly necessary but just wanted to give my humble little opinion. The space itself is old-ish looking which is kinda cool. They have cheap looking Home Depot type«Tiffany» lamps turned up way too bright which kills the atmosphere, though. The crowd is not cool. Odd for being in Eagle Rock. The pizza is mediocre. There is a nice, faint tang about the cheese and sauce although, I found myself wanting more of this tang. The crust is indeed like cardboard… bone dry and the recipe is not a good one. There is potential here but they are not going to change anything after this many years and I’m not going to be back to give it another try. So interesting how popular it is. Damn! Still looking for good old school pizza as an alternative to Neapolitan.

BESTPIZZAEVAH!(This is solely my opinion of course) my special friend would talk about how I needed to try this place because it’s the best pizza place. I was skeptical because I’ve tried a lot of pizza places & they all taste like any generic pizza. But after trying casa Bianca for myself, I was sold. ~Location It’s located on the corner between Colorado blvd & Vincent ave. They don’t have their private lot, so it’s only street parking. ~Cleanliness The place is overall super clean. No complains there. ~Ambiance It has a super casual, mom & pop, very at-home kind of vibe. ~Service The workers are super friendly & helpful. The first time my special friend and I came here, we weren’t sure what size we should get for the pizza. Our server suggested that the medium would be the best option for two people, and she was in fact spot on. ~Food The first time we came here, we ordered the medium Pizza Bianco. It was a 12″(8 slices) pizza that consisted of garlic & oil base, with basil & tomato. Now this may seem like a very plain pizza, but the moment our server brought out the pizza, the smell of the pizza instantly had me salivating. The tastiness doesn’t stop there, their cheese is super stringy! I’ve been looking for a pizza place with stringy pizza like this for as long as I can remember! And last but not least, the crust is super crunchy! Absolute yumminess from beginning to end! P. S. if you can’t finish your pizza, it taste just as awesome the next day if you heat it up! The pizza was so good that the most recent time I came here, I just ordered the Pizza Bianco again! Overall, I’ll definitely be coming back !

Best Pizza I will ever have in my whole life. Period. I’ve been around the world trying pizzas and this still tops them all. Even if this spot wasn’t just a hometown spot, I’d still love this place! It being located in Eagle Rock just makes me love it a bajillion gajillion times more! Location: It’s at the corner of a busy street and a residential street. Easy to find street parking and has 20-minute parking in the front if you just want take-out. In my hometown, Eagle Rock, so it’s just that much more perfect. Environment: Totally makes me feel at home! The inside of the restaurant just has the mom and pop, homestyle, family feel. Totally amazing. The workers are super friendly too! Food: Again. Best. Pizza. Ever. Crust is just absolutely amazing. Perfectly crisp. Perfectly cheesed. I’ve had their Pepperoni and Cheese Pizzas before and they’re both amazingly cooked. My new favorite that my SO and I always order is the Pizza Bianco. The garlic just smelled amazing and oh man… Heaven. I wish I can go here every single time I’m back in town but if I did I would probably die from pizza overdose. I’ll be back home soon, my sweet Pizza Bianco!

Visit date: June 27, 2015 What I ate: Spinach & mushroom lasagna, pizza with eggplant & garlic, antipasto, mozarella sticks, fried zucchini First time? Yes. Talk about a following. Ten minutes before the doors opened, there was a line out the door. Honestly though, I wouldn’t have known about this place if it weren’t for my coworker — her family owns the restaurant. My family and I came for an early dinner. We called in a reservation for 430p(when they open), though it didn’t seem like we needed it because there were plenty of group dining tables throughout the course of our meal. In any case, reservations are highly recommended by the staff. The food comes out fairly quickly, and do not be surprised by the size of the dishes. The menu does not say ‘family style’ but you can easily feed 2 – 4 people per entrée, including the small pizzas. The spinach and mushroom lasagna is served with your choice of a white béchamel or red marinara sauce. I got both! I can’t decide which I liked more; the béchamel was so creamy, but the marinara is that classic lasagna flavor. The lasagna itself — warm and comforting, like my Italian grandmother would make it if I was Italian. The mushrooms were juicy and the lasagna noodles soft. It melted in my mouth. The only thing I would add — hot peppers! but only because I like food spicy. A unique find on their menu — eggplant on pizza. I am a huge fan of eggplant but I had never had it as a pizza topping before. I’m not sure what they do to the eggplant, but on their pizza it has an almost meaty texture. It was pleasing. Garlic on pizza is also a plus. This a family friendly establishment. It’s got history. It’s bustling. The only negative — they use styrofoam to pack your leftovers.

I like Casa Bianca for being unique and serving up a particular style of pizza which is similar to Chicago/East Coast bar style pizza which is hard to find in So Cal. More info about bar style pizza can be found in this article: Here are a few things you should know about the pizza at Casa B if your a newbie: *The crust is thin and not soft like a Neopolitan pizza but a drier crispier crust. *Mushrooms are canned which is typical for bar style pizza, the pepperoni, house made sausage and even the breaded eggplant make for very excellent topping choices. *If you want a traditionally cut pizza don’t forget to ask for a traditional cut pie slices because the larger pizzas are cut into squares and angled slices. Their salads are basic but tasty, they come with delicious soft on the inside hot Italian rolls with butter, and their linguine pesto or raviolis are also other items we order. *Last note: call to put your name on the list prior to arriving, it will make the wait time shorter. Street parking where you can find it.

POSTPERFORMANCEFAMILYGRUBTIME! BACKGROUND: Moved here from Chicago with three young children to join the rest of the family here in Los Angeles. Sam found a corner storefront in eagle Rock that was owned at the time by Charlie Morreale. Using the skills learned at his fathers grocery business and working for Tony’s Pizza in Chicago, he opened a restaurant and deli. The recipes came from the Italian tradition passed down through their families. The ethic of hard work came from Sam’s father, a strong Italian paterfamilias and Jennie’s mother who supported her family with factory work after her husband was disabled by a stroke. STATS: Sunday — Monday Closed Tuesday — Thursday 4:00 pm — 12:00 am Friday & Saturday 4:00 pm — 1:00 am Street parking EXPERIENCE: Following best friends daughters dance performance nearby, wee one wanted to come here for some grub of the pizza kind. Although I grew up in dis hood, I had never experienced their pie, but it came highly recommended from my Latin fam bam. What a cozy little place. Upon entering, there’s a host/hostess & checkout counter with a small area of booth seats against the wall for patrons to wait to be seated. Walking through what mirrors an entry of a living room of a home there are a few tables and chairs, as well as booth framing the room. All but one table was occupied with pizza pie patrons, but the noise level was acceptable for good conversations. The staff were both personable and kept our glasses of beverages full without asking. Everyone pitched in one topping of their choice and we ended up with an X-large Garlic X2, Basil, Mushroom, and Sausage pie. I was rather taken aback at exactly how tasty it was and not just because there was heaps of garlic on it since both bestie and I both ordered garlic, but the crust was perfectly prepared, and the toppings were plentiful and sprinkled evenly over the pie. More about the crust as I could not get over it. Hence, many times when I’ve had pizza, the crust gets soggy in the middle, this was not. We were able to pick it up and easily start biting from the middle without having to get the hand, eye, mouth coordinated. I may not have experienced this pizza joint as a child, but I’m sure glad I got a chance to enjoy it as an adult. Review 71 Unilocal 100+ Challenge 2015 #PIZZA #EAGLEROCK #MOM&POP
