Sometimes I just to drive around in different parts of L.A. and see what I really notice… So, one day I noticed this bakery just out of the corner of my eye… so I did a U-turn and amazingly they were still opened(it was rather late). So, I walked in and she had me go the back –side of the bakery and I was in a candy store of bakeries. They sell gourmet Russian and European breads so I ordered to 2 different types. I won’t lie I can not remember the names but I will go back and order some more for my next dinner party! Must try it out. love bakeries, bakers, etc. :}

This bakery has homemade Russian and Armenian breads(the loaf kind, not the Arax style flat bread kind). I love the multigrain and Russian black bread. They have mini loaves that are 4 for a dollar. There was a short period of time where they made pizzas. I am not a huge pizza fan(what kind of american am i?) but i did want to try theirs. They phased it out pretty quickly. Anyway they also have an amazing pastry counter that is filled with napoleons, eclairs, and best of all various baklavas and honey and pistachio laden bird-nests. My favorite are the party read trays of leaf shaped baklava-type cookies that always go over well at a function. They are very friendly and eager to tell you about the piroshkis that are the freshest and the treats you need to try. Update: Why have they been closed? are they remodeling? I love this place and hope it isn’t going out of business. I saw it open one day, but it was just the door. The windows were still covered by the metal gates. If anyone knows what happened to Breadland please let me know. if it is open and you go, please enjoy.
