this place is way too cute. Each piece is artfully placed in the box, a bit of variety with vegetables, brown rice and a nice couple of pieces of pork belly. Definitely full and supposedly under 500 calories. Tried a sample of the ginger chicken which was particularly moist and tasty.

Hidden gem of Downtown Los Angeles. Tucked away in the back of Soi 7(just walk toward the back of the restaurant) and you will find BIMI in the corner on your right. A sweet Japanese lady welcomes you with a smile and you can take a quick look of what is being offered for the day. All her bento boxes were made to order and suppose to be organic and gluten free. Yes, it might be more expensive than some of the other selections in Downtown LA, but everything is fresh and felt healthy. I ordered the Miso Salmon today and it was very flavorful. I couldn’t help but smile and walk around the office showing off my bento box because it was the most adorable thing! However, I would be even happier if there were more vegetables in the bento box. So glad that I was able to find this new gem in DTLA. Will definitely be coming back for lunch. If you are in a rush or didn’t want to wait in line, please call in advance or try placing your order with Eat24.

I don’t know what I ate but I ordered chicken thinking it was a vegan restaurant. I would have been on if it was chicken but I had to stop from eating because it just look way to pink… the only thing I could think of was rat meat… I will never order out again much less order from this restaurant… I am sick to my stomach

Chief makes authentic yummy and healthly Japanese bento. It’s located inside Soi 7, so walk in to the very back of the restaurant and you will find this hidden gem!

Went here for lunch for 2 days in a row! Got the salmon yesterday and today I had the grilled pork belly. Everything’s just too good! The portion, the taste. Perfect. Love love love!

A speakeasy of fresh lunch boxes! A MUST try for all healthy eaters. All served gluten free. Personally my favorites are the chicken ginger and the chicken and tofu meatball but I can’t wait to go back to try all! Delivered straight to your door on grub hub if you’re busy!

You can never too much of good things. Their food is well made, with a good heart which is the key to a good eatin’. Health conscious and faithful to the good tradition of the Japanese delicacy.

I was in LA’s Arts District, working on a deadline. As much as I wanted to explore the wonderful restaurants of Little Tokyo, we were slammed. My partner suggested ordering from Bimi, what a great idea! The salmon by the way, is amazing! Felt so healthy and tasty, and we really got the vibe of being in one of the local restaurants or even in Japan. The bento boxes are adorable. Smiley rice balls, flower shaped carrots, what’s not to love? Next time I want to see the place in person! I’ll be visiting soon, and will post pics for you!

I ordered through Eat24 and am very happy with their service. They always call if they are delayed in traffic. They always wrap things so beautifully that lunch at my desk is no longer a drudgery but a pleasurable escape. The bento is so pretty, and the vegetables vary seasonally. They pack the cutest squeeze bottle of shoyu and a wedge of lemon so I can play with my food. I got a lemony washcloth, wooden chopsticks, and a bit of Japanese candy with my last order. I am glad they also have an assortment of Japanese candies and cookies to assuage the envy of my salivating coworkers when lunch arrives. I offer them Pocky sticks and Hello Panda cookies as a bribe so they will go away and leave me in peace with my salmon, pork belly, or savory meatballs.

AWESOME bento, SUPERB service! So glad they are in downtown now. Love all the variety they have in their bento and how the sides change each time. Last time there was a yummiest jelly dessert inside of a tangerine peel. How cute is that? And everything is so healthy and nutritious. Quick tip: if you are going to pick up instead of having it delivered, it’s inside Soi 7.

I found this place through GrubHub and I am so happy I actually took a moment to look at their options. Short, simple menu at acceptable prices. I ordered the chicken and tofu ball bento box and wow! This is probably the prettiest, tastiest, and most filling lunch I’ve ever had. EVER. It even comes with a tiny bottle of soy sauce. A BOTTLE. I am definitely ordering from them again.
