Third time eating here and will be the last. 1st time was in person — food was GREAT 2nd time was delivery — again food was great, fast delivery and reasonable price Tried to order delivery a few times and finally gave up… would be told not delivering today to no longer delivering at all. After having a mean craving for kabobs, we decided to stop and order carry out. We walk in and right on the stand are menus in BIGBOLDLETTERSFREEDELIVERY. Oh you do deliver I ask. oh what? reads the menu SLOWLY and give me the deer in the headlights look ehh whatever… I place my order 2 chicken kabobs with rice and bread(you pay extra if you want both) and EXTRA white and green sauce. Food comes out I ask if I have my extra sauce. Yes ma’am. total 30 bucks. Geez that’s pricey I think but hey I’m treating myself. Get home, not only do I not have extra sauce(errrr, I’m assuming my pricey bill included that) but the chicken was odd tasting and the rice was blaa Oh he did solve the delivery question — they deliver the food they cater… We will not be back.

So I’ve never done a not so good review, but here goes… So this place is pretty close to where I live and I like patronizing local businesses. I really like kebabs, kabobs and the like so I was looking forward to trying this place. Went in and it was super quiet(it was right after dinner time rush) but wow he staff was sitting around doing nothing. The restaurant is nicely decorated, but the temperature in the restaurant was a bit uncomfortable so that was kind of unpleasant, but I am big boneded. Hehe The polite but inexperienced waiter asks very quietly what we(my girl friend and I) would like to drink and I said water and she said sprite. He brings us a can of sprite and a bottle of Kirkland signature. I thought to myself«hmm that’s a first. I’ve never been given a bottle of Kirkland signature at a restaurant before.» Got the menus which were obviously printed out of a inkjet printer and I think they used some generic pictures. Because they pics looked delicious but I can’t say the same for the actual food. I asked for any recommendations and he recommended samosas, which were disappointing to say the least. The generic frozen samosas with not much more flavor than the kind you can literally get from the super market. I ordered the super combo which was supposed to be some lamb, chicken, seekh and something else and my gf ordered the chicken. Well my entrée looked ok with two kinds or rice one white and one brown, mixed with raisins and carrots. I must also say, I’ve never ordered kabobs at a restaurant and have them served in less than 10 minutes, but kabob factory did which brings to question… Was this a reheat or actually cooked to order? I feel that the texture and temperature of the food would point to reheat. The food was not as hot and moist as what I am use to. The chicken was ok, not tough or chewy but definitely not moist at all and the temp was warm, the meat in the sauce was good only because the sauce was good. It taste like a generic meat pattie, lamb was not good at all. It had the gamey meat smell and it was very tough and chewy also just warm. The seekh with paprika sprinkled over was only saved by the paprika. And when I mean saved I mean just barely. The seekh did not taste good at all and I am quite fond of seekh kabobs! My gf was disappointed and I was disappointed at the lackluster food and service. Oh and the bill, ha it was $ 50! They charged me for my Kirkland signature water. Just a $ 1.00 for the water and $ 1.00 for the sprite. Interesting. If there is ever a next time I will request tap water. But I don’t plan on coming back here again.

Gave it three tries and every time my order was completely wrong. Food is remarkably mediocre.

I waited at the register to order carry out from this place for five minutes. There was only one table with two people eating in the place. The cashier/waitress/owner ignored me and came to take the order of the person who came in after me(who happened to be of a different ethnicity). The other customer acknowledged I was there first and I placed my order. The cashier offered him complimentary soup and didn’t offer me anything. She also gave him his food first. Besides the poor service, the food isn’t fit for human consumption. Describing the food as Afghan is an insult to Afghan Cuisine.

I wanted to like this place. Since it’s under new management, I figured– why not try it. I thought the bad reviews were leftover from the old management. NOPE. Let’s just start by saying we threw out $ 65 of food after tasting it and still had stomach issues all night. It’s the typical Abassi restaurant. Garbage quality, leftover rice, leftover kabob, horrible service, and dirty personnel. Stay away, this is coming from an Afghan that knows how this should taste and how the quality should be. Go to flame kabob a few miles away– it’s lower priced, you get more food, and the food is fresh since they actually have business. If you want food poisoning, enjoy!

I too love this type of food and was a little disappointed that it didn’t happily satisfied my craving. It was not bad, but it was not great either. We had take-out for lunch on a Monday, and indeed the place was not busy at all. There was one couple sitting and eating there, and from what I could see the food looked real goof –as I said it was not as good as it looked or sounded. We ordered an appetizer, bolani, which is an Afghan version of a samosa, and it was tasty, but a little spicier that we had expected… the yogurt/garlic sauce did not do anything to cool-off the spice, which was my problem with this dish… the sauce augmented rather than balancing the spicy notes. We also ordered the jumbo kabob plate, which really is a combo of lamp, beef and ground meat kabob. It came with rice. It was meh. I would expect the meat which is char-coaled as they claim to be juicy and tender and flavorful, but this was just OK… maybe they overcooked it, or maybe the had not marinated it for as long as they should have… I don’t know, it was just underwhelming. Now this dish cost $ 16. To me that is pretty steep, considering it is lunch take-out. By the way, they have no lunch specials. Why not, people? That would totally increase your appeal… Most importantly and strangely, this $ 16 plate did not come with bread… the choice was either bread or rice and we opted for rice. The rice was bad, too. Blunt and I doubt it had saffron in it(although I am pretty sure that is what I read in the menu). So, here is what would make me try this place again, dear Kabob Factory: include lunch specials; accompany entrees with bread; inform customers on the spice levels in your food; tenderize the meat, preferably through marinading it longer.

I ordered to go on a weekday and they had absolutely no customers I thought maybe because it’s a weekday so guess what. I got my food and when I went home I was surprised the whole thing was old. I could taste the old rice being just warmed up and the very old chickpeas that taste so bad. I had to throw out the food cuz it was just awful. The food was not fresh even though I waited about 20 – 30 mins for it to be cooked. This place is a big mistake, u pay a lot for food that’s not even fresh.

I stopped here for lunch since I live right down the street. Big mistake. I was the only person there and the food was absolutely horrible. It tasted as if they cooked it days ago. Rice was dry and hard, and the lamb tasted like a flip flop. Don’t waste your time.

The food here is flavorful and delicious I will give them that, but sadly, I wouldn’t contribute one penny to this establishment on principle alone. Horrible service!

I stopped in on a Wednesday at around 1pm and there was not a customer in sight. The man who greeted me was rude and made me feel like I was interrupting him. The décor was not welcoming, the bathroom was disgusting and there was no ambience whatsoever. I ordered the chicken kabobs and when I asked him what came with the meal he told me chicken, rice, chick peas, salad and bread. When I asked him if I could get the green sauce in addition to the yogurt sauce he looked at me like I had just kicked his dog, but reluctantly gave it to me. When I got home the bread was not in the bag. Despite the lackluster customer service, I was really happy with the food that I did receive(perhaps I misunderstood whether the bread came with the meal or as a side). The chicken was juicy and well seasoned, the rice was nice, the chick peas were pleasent and the salad was fresh. The sauces were very tasty, too. I wish I had called in to avoid the unpleasant personal experience because the food was delicious.

The most authentic Afghan food place I have been to in Virgina/Metro area. I had Qaubli Palau, Mantu Boolawanee and everything was just perfect. I went there on Monday night so place was not busy. Instead of sugar the very courteous waitress brought raw honey and I was told that they attempt to keep everything traditional. Must visit!

I ordered takeout 40 min ahead. When I arrived there was no one in the front to greet me. I waited a total of 7 minutes(yes I timed it because I’m a very paticular person on a busy schedule) and left. Customer service sucks. Don’t go here if you need something on time. Professionalism is lacking! I’d also like to add that the time I placed the order was at peak hours of dinner. Friday night at 6pm. Why isn’t there any staff in the front? I could hear women laughing in the back towards the kitchen. Highly unprofessional. I will not recommend this place to the people who tend to order takeout on their way home from work. What a waste of time! Just go to Lasani Kabob down the street. I ended up going there. Service is much better and quicker and the food is amazing.

I stopped by on my way home to pick up some food to take with me, and got stuck in conversation with the owner’s young daughter. She was pretty chatty, but very nice and it was good to have someone to fill the silence while waiting for my food. She gave me the whole history of the restaurant while I waited, haha. The food was Not bad! I’m no aficionado on Afghan cuisine, but it was very tasty in my opinion. Like others have mentioned, it’s kind of a bummer that you don’t get sides when you’re paying for so much. I got one entrée, added a side and some bread, and it came out to way more than I had wanted to spend. That’s too bad, but like I said everything was pretty delicious so I can’t complain too much.

The food here is tasty. However, I do not think that you get what you pay for. I went to the restaurant with a friend and we both got kabobs; we were each given the meat and bread and then a very small serving of salad to share. I was surprised that we did not get any other side with our dish(like I usually get at the restaurant by my house)… The service was decent. This place is alright, but definitely not the best kabob place around here. I would only go back if I was in the area and could not find a better option.

First ominous sign: it was only me and one other couple at 12:00, noon. The owner/greeter/whatever was rude and condescending to the lady that was there. He scoffed at a question she had regarding portion size, and if something was suitable for sharing between she and her husband. It was a simple question, but his immediately laughed in her face, and said«what do you think… it’s only $ 3…do you think something for $ 3 is big enough for sharing?» While i was waiting for my food, I repeatedly heard dings from a microwave. When my food came, it was just the meat, rice and yogurt sauce. most kebab places serve a small salad and bread with their meals as a default… not here. If you want bread, you have to order it! Meat and rice was $ 11.81…if that included bread and/or salad, It would be a reasonable price. The table didn’t have any napkins. The restaurant had no music or TV background noise… just the distant beeping of a microwave in the kitchen for ambiance. When i was ready to go, I stood by the register for a good 3 – 4 minutes before anyone he came out form the back… he looked through the pile of receipts(no customers, but a pile of receipts?), poked around on the computer a dozen or so time, and the finally found my receipt so i could pay and leave.

My experience with the food from Kabob Factory has gone from good, to blah, and most recently, I was served spoiled food. It smelled rancid. Food is over priced considering portion size and quality. Service is consistently very poor in a variety of ways(rude staff, long wait though the place is empty, order not right, over-charging, etc.) There aren’t many restaurants in Lorton, so I gave them a chance, but spoiled food served up with a grunt is unacceptable.

Very good food and friendly service. I’ve been here three times now for take-out and the food is always well spiced and hot. The bread is a must! The one time I didn’t order some I was very sad. I usually end up getting the lamb kabob and it is so tender and juicy that I am in heaven eating it. :) The white sauce that comes with my order is super good with the meat and rice, too!

When I had this kabob place the first time it was amazing hands down. Then one night after work(around 8pm) me and my boyfriend went in to have some dinner because we were starving. Before dining I asked him the resturant hours, he said the closed at 9:30, so we intended on dining. But when we asked the one and only hostess/waiter to be seated he said«you would make my life a lot easier if you got carry out» but we said no. After that he took us to a table and took our orders. He asked us what we would like to drink, we both replied water, then he said«ha I know you want water you too are poor people». He began picking his nose and never washed his hands(he said it was allergies but he never washed his hands!). He never came back to refill our waters and in the middle of our meal he turned the Open signs off and began turning lights off. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. The food is great but the service sucked. I believe that the man who served us that night wais the owner or manager. Again good food terrible service.

This Afghan food is good if you are looking for something different. I haven’t had anything to compare it against but the food wasn’t bad quality. There was nothing wrong with the food overall. The staff were a little slow even when we were the only group in the place. The lady that helped us was very friendly.
