Food was delicious! We got 2 pounds of shrimp, which were huge, 4 corns, Cajun sweet potato fries and 2 drinks for under $ 35. Supper satisfied with our order! We’ll be returning frequently.

I got a deal The Cajun Crab offered at Groupon and When we showed it the to the cashier this rude Asian lady give us this dissatisfaction face and told us that the coupon was not valid(Why??? I just print it out) Obviously they offer this deals but they don’t honor it… The most I can do is give you a credit for the $ 24 you pay,(like she was doing us a favor attitude) not the $ 40 value they advertise on Groupon. If you don’t like it, ask for a refund at Groupon, she also said. We don’t really conceive how Groupon deal with this kind of hole in the wall shady establishments… If this is the kind of experiences me and my family can get at The Cajun Crab, I rather this to be the first and last experience dealing with you guys! I can tell that they desperately need more traffic at their location… No wonder why this place was so empty… Not mentioning that we order a pound of shrimp for each of us and the portion we got looks more like ½ lb. Honestly, we rather wait 2 hours to be seated at THEBOILINGCRAB, they have never let me down after more than 4 years been a loyal customer(accurate portion, right flavor, excellent service). Therefore, if you don’t mind to settle for less at a crappy service place, this is right for you!!! Good luck staying in business! UPDATE: Groupon grant us a refund for the $ 24 we spend at this place. Seams like Groupon totally understand what a customer service should be like…

Solid 2.5 Stars This place has taught me not to go off the menu, but in such a ridiculous way. I came here because my friend’s husband wanted to try it out. I was not in the mood for seafood, and given that it was a cold evening, I was craving something warm. I was ecstatic when I saw that they served Ramen. It did seem odd that Cajun Crab will serve such an item, but thought if they’re offering, it must be decent. Boy, was I completely wrong. First, it is served on a paper bowl and a plastic fork. Secondly, I was shocked when I saw the noodles being the ones from Top Ramen topped with thin slices of chicken and sprinkled with green onion and cilantro. I was hungry and was willing to eat it — even knowing that I was being charged 5 times the price of something I could have easily made at home — BUT it was extremely salty that just made it inedible. Even my fiancé — who is a sodium lover, high blood pressure fella — couldn’t even ingest it. Unfortunately, my friend also ordered the same dish — we told the server to take it back and not to even bother re-serving us another bowl. Why even advertise such a dish that a broke college student probably invented? My dissatisfied friend and I left to go next door(Sizzling Wok) to order edible food. Upon returning, our group of friends told us that they came back out with another order of «Ramen»! There was serious of lack of communication going on. Moral of this review, just stick to the seafood — I had a bite of shrimp and was fresh and lightly seasoned, it was good. Also, don’t even order any of the Thai food — it is mediocre at best — Pad See Ew was ew(also served on a paper plate).

Nice server, food good but can be seasoned more. Small and pleasant. Pricing is good. Not use to eating with plastic utensils while dining in. Will recommend eating.

I tried this place a few months ago when it first opened and it wasn’t that good. I decided to try it again today and I’m so glad I did! Their recipe(for the Cajun shrimp) got a lot better and it’s soooooo yummy. It’s a little more pricey than other places, and a little skimpy as far as portions but it’s worth it especially if you don’t want to drive all the way to OC to boiling crab. I love that they serve Thai tea and Thai food too :)

Seems like a mom and pap restaurant. Funny thing is that they incorporated the Thai menu into the restaurant, but it suits them. The shrimp was very good and very large shrimp size. They must have gotten a good catch. You can’t judge the place based on the price because the market price seafood is subject to change anytime. But I will say the seasoning and sauce is very very flavorful. And I’ll admit a lot of flavor compared to boiling crab. The order process is parallel to boiling crab, as well as other items on the menu, but the beauty part is that it’s not chaotic like boiling crab and best of all no ridiculous waiting period. Overall, to all the Long Beach and Lakewood residents spare yourself some gas money and give this place a chance. This is the new gem of Lakewood/Long Beach.

This place is great! First time trying this place out and it wasn’t disappointing. The shrimp are bigger than boiling crab and the seasoning is very flavorful. Same concept, not crazy busy like boiling crab. Sweet potato fries are yummy as well. Must try! And surely coming back again

I love this place! I always order a pound or 2 of shrimp, with«all seasonings”-mild. And request for it to be JUICY. Which did make a difference from the first time I ordered here. gave it a lot more FLAVOR! Their cajun fries are delicious as well! Haven’t tried anything else… but so far I can’t get enough of their shrimp! Also, this place is always empty(still fairly new I’m guessing… maybe people don’t really know about it yet?) I don’t know but I love this place and hopefully it stays around for long because it’s conveniently down the street from home!!! Attentive waiters/waitresses and friendly customer service!

Stumbled upon this place on a saturday night around 915pm. They were closing soon at 10pm and they didn’t mind we came in around this time. Server was nice, place was clean. It’s a small, mom and pop style place hidden in a plaza thats not too busy. Boyfriend and I ordered 2 lbs of shrimp, 3 potatoes, and cajun fries. Food came quickly and the shrimp were pretty large compared to other cajun style places we’ve been to. The seasoning was good, lots of garlic and spice but we had no problems with that. Come here if you want boiling crab style food, but don’t want to wait in an outrageous line!

I can’t tell you how happy I am this restaurant opened! The spices are perfect and the seafood fresh. On the first time we came in my husband ordered a plate of noodles that came out promptly, and my steamed crab took 10 minutes. My husband is a true gentleman and refused to touch his dinner till mine came. The owner gave us the restaurant phone number and told us to call in my crab before we come in so our dinners would be served together next time. That’s just what we do every time now! They have Thai style food in addition to the Cajun seafood, and bomb cajun fries too! I really like that I can get fried rice and chicken satay to go along with a steaming bag of cajun shrimp. Fresh seafood is posted on a chalk board when you walk in and features king crab, snow crab, Dungeness crab, blue crab, lobster, shrimp, mussels… etc. Be sure to ask if the crawfish is fresh or frozen though!

Where do I start. The bathroom light switch. Nasty. Soap in the restroom was watered down. She charges 3 $ extra for shrimp in the 70 $ combo. Shrimps are not good quality. Tapatio was scares. She charged me for ranch for my frys. The cajon frys were frozen for sure. Not good. Very expensive for the area. Sea food shack is way better and cheaper. Also in a better area. Waiter was raw. No experience. Place was dirty. Tagged up Won’t come again!!! She didn’t even want to give me my receipt. I payed 110 $ for what I usually pay 70 $ and get way more beer sake food and wine. Crazy bad spot. I think people should know the truth. She watches you on her 20 camera system. Beware. I stand by my review. It’s a Unilocalers duty to write honest reviews. My son is 7 and weighs in at 55lbs. He had 5 shrimps. And was on his phone. My older boy ate his proportion. We enjoyed it because we knew it was so much money we had no other choice. I’m not going to be sad about eating $ 110 worth of food if you ask me

DeeLicious Shrimp! DeeLicious Thai! Fabulous Service! We have been craving Boiling Crab but never have the time or patience to have it. This place was mentioned to me by a co-worker & what really caught my attention was when she said, «they have really good thai food too» I checked it out on Unilocal & knew we had to try it… it was weird cause the same night I was picking up my Fiancé from work & I was shocked to see it was directly across the street from his work. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I can’t believe we have never noticed it. Our 1st time here, we took advantage of the Unilocal Check In offer & got FREE Cajun Fries… we loved them, Crispy ShoeString Fries with TONS of Cajun Seasoning, our 2nd time, we obviously had to pay for the Fries but we did because we enjoyed them so much, this time they were far from Crispy, Steak Fries with very little Cajun Seasoning. EPICFAIL! Our only other problem is… Sausage! They charge WAYTOOMUCH for 2, 1 inch pieces of Smoked Sausage. So obviously we do without the Sausage, which is a shame but we deal with it. Cause we refuse to pay that insane price. Maybe the owner will read this & rethink her prices!

New joint, well technically not new… Same owners of the House of Fondue but just a whole different atmosphere and way more varieties of grub to choose from. They offer Cajun items on the menu and there’s also a Thai portion of the menu. *this review is strictly for the Cajun part* Came here on a Monday because we were too lazy to drive to OC for boiling crab and or Claws. On the way here I had my fingers crossed because last thing I needed was food poisoning, but to my surprise the place was quite clean and the food wasn’t bad. We ordered two orders of 1POUNDOFSHRIMP($ 10.95) 2CORNS($ 0.75 each) all with the HOUSESPECIAL seasoning and SPICY level of spice. We also used our check in and got free CAJUNFRIES and ordered a FRIEDCALAMARI as an appetizer($ 9.95) To be honest, in my opinion I really enjoyed my 1POUNDOFSHRIMPWITHHOUSESPECIALSEASONINGANDSPICYLEVELOFSPICE even though I didn’t finish it. The shrimp were huge compared to the ones you get at boiling crab and or claws. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the skin came right off with very little effort. The shrimp itself was sweet and juicy and when you bite into it you get a nice crunch in return. The sauce was also good, spicy as an option was perfect for my taste and the overall sauce had more of a lemony taste to it which I thought was good since I like to occasionally dip my shrimp in lemon with salt and pepper. It isn’t as salty as the other places so you don’t end up chugging lots of water during you meal or for the remainder of the day. I WOULDN’T MINDCOMINGBACKTOGETTHESHRIMPFORSURE. 4 stars*** Now the FRIEDCALAMARI was blah for me. I probably ate one maybe two pieces and left the rest for my best friend. He normally eats everything and didn’t really care for them either. The calamari was very rubbery and took a long time to chew. The batter was bland and came with a simple sweet and sour sauce from a bottle to dip… SKIPTHISITEM. 1 star**** CAJUNFRIES ok so these were free so I’ll add an extra star, but they were forgettable. I’ve had my share of Cajun fries and these are just ok. Idk if I would go out of my way to pay for them, but I’ll definitely take them with a free check in. Fries portion is decent and flavored but it just wasn’t enough Cajun for me, but more of a salty type seasoning. 3 stars*** Friendly staff, but they’re new workers so they’re still trying to find their groove and are sort of disorganized. But nonetheless our water was filled and we got checked on from time to time. Parking is easy in the parking lot. Plenty of spaces to choose from. I’ll probably be back but only for the shrimp and maybe to try other items.
