So after a disastrous change in ownership, this place finally closed. But the original feel of Sushi in Naples in Pasadena is still going strong. It’s a sad affair for in the belmont shore area the sushi places are very limited.

So bummed. I used to love their happy hour. Free salmon-skin wrap with every beer, which of course was always a large Asahi. And the unagi was insanely good. Stupid economy…

Hot Sake and a couple of Asahi’s on draft never hurt anyone. Add a tempura roll and a cool sushi chef and you have yourself a great place to eat sushi. btw, I sat at the bar on my visit and it seemed to be the best seat In the House!

I can’t believe this place only has 3 stars! This is my favorite restaurant for fusion sushi. I would eat here everyday if it didn’t do so much damage on my wallet. My all time favorites are: — Sweet Sixteen: baked salmon at it’s best. I always try baked salmon rolls other place restaurants and nothing ever compares! The sauces go oh so well with the baked salmon. This roll is seriously a must try! — Albacore Dream: albacore topped with flavorful green sauce and sriracha sauce. Sounds interesting right? I promise you’ll be a fan if you like spicy. — Lobster Puffs: great appetizers They have very creative and tasty rolls(some rolls with mango, soy paper, cucumber instead of seaweed, etc.) I highly recommend this place but just be prepared to pay up for the quality of fish and creativity.

Awesome, fresh sushi. Having tried the very best from Japan to the San Gabriel Valley, I must vouch for this particular restaurant. The quality of their ingredients are true to their native tastes. There is no doubt in my mind that this was their intention and for those of you who disagree you must try this again. The rolls are going to blow your mind away. I thought I had seen/ate it all but the Albacore Dream is SUPERB! I love uni and every time I need my fix I go to Sushi of Naples!!!

I guess I’m a glutton for punishment, I keep coming back for me… I guess it’s cause I keep hoping that the quality, atmosphere and service will revert to what I was used to in the 90’s But it’s still an epic fail… the sushi’s still good… that I won’t complain about but the service is sadly lacking!!!

Sushi of Naples is a place I go to when I want to splurge. The food is amazing! They have a wide selection so there is something for everyone. The sweet sixteen roll is my favorite. The last time I went to SON our waitress was thee best! She recognized one of my friends who owns digital gravel(website clothing all kinds of stuff) and she conversed with us about how she went to some sample sales before and how she saw him. She was very attentive and was really sweet. At the end of the night we ordered dessert and she brought it out with digital gravel written in chocolate sauce on the plate! It was the cherry on top. My two friends are now fans of this place. I have never left unhappy from SON and I am pretty picky about my sushi.

MUST go restaurant! Sushi of Naples is my favorite on the list! I always come here for sashimi and sushi. The quality here is by far the best, and their chefs are super creative and very friendly. It has a very nice atmosphere. Me and my boyfriend were here over the weekend. We sat at the sushi bar and asked the chef what was the freshest of the day, which were Salmon Toro and Tai Snapper. It’s just because they know the best =). The chef prepared the sashimi in 3 styles, plain, sea salt, and green onion with soy sauce. The Salmon Toro was SOOOGOOD! I am always a big fun of Tuna Toro, but Salmon Toro turned out to be really good, too! It tasted like butter, and just melted in my mouth, yum… We loved it! The Tai Snapper was really good and very fresh. =P As we sat at the sushi bar talking with the chef, we heard the other side of the restaurant was open, same owner but different theme + it has all day happy hour that EVERYTHING on the menu 50% off!!! Even drinks! Really?! We decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be an OMG! We ordered as much food as we can possibly eat, and of course each of us got a bottle of beer. Hehe. We had Uni sushi, and it was so fresh that we had to order 2 additional orders. I cannot believe it is half price off! We also had yakitori, sea bass(really good), soft shell crab(yummy), and etc… we ordered a lot of food. When the bill came out, they discounted everything 50%!! We got a lot more food but only half the price we normally get anywhere else. I cannot wait to tell my friends about this place. We are going to come here pretty soon again!

Such a bummer that I have to lower this place to a 3 star but it has to be done =0( The last 3 times I have come here the fish quality has just been OK. What is going on!!! Who ever is in charge of ordering the fish is dropping the ball. This place can easily be a 4 star place again in my opinion because the chefs know what they’re doing! But they can only be as good as the quality of the fish. I guess I will be driving a little farther and going to Sushi On Fire in HB until I read better reviews about this place. Come on Sushi of Naples, you’re better than this!

My sister and I decided to go to Sushi of Naples today on impulse. We passed it by and we were hungry so we went. We ordered the lunch special sushi with 16 pieces and a Naples roll. It took 45 minutes to get our order. I was about to walk out and my sister said«just wait a little bit more, if they don’t come in 10 minutes I will call them.» The food finally came and the sushi plate was okay and fresh. The Naples roll is a combination of different raw fish in a roll. The looked ashen and it didn’t really taste fresh. We ate the fresh sushi and didn’t finish the roll. I probably will not be back for a long while if at all. The service is bad — the servers needs to be flagged down for water, more ginger, more wasabi and dammit where’s the food? The food is to expensive for the quality and the service is too bad to even describe. If I can give Sushi of Naples a –10 star I would.

One of my best friend and I went here to celebrate our 21st birthday.(by the way he also worked there so we had special treatment) This place was very clean and inviting the sushi isn’t cheap($ 10-$ 20), but the quality definitely doesn’t taste cheap either. I loved the presentation of the food it was very artistic and the taste of it was very flavorful and fresh. My friends came in a group of about 20 and they kept feeding me and the majority of the sushi dishes was very yummy and some were just so and so. The dragon rolls is very yummy the naguri on top was so flavorful and meaty. Mardigras roll had fried onion strings on top which gave it a nice crunch and the hot sauce gave it a nice kick. Over all this place was pretty good and the servers and sushi chefs were very nice and welcoming.

Another one of those days where I need sushi at one of those inbetween hours. I work in Downtown LB and pass through Belmont shores daily. So it was about 3:30ish on a Sunday. Note: Make sure you have a to go menu, because if you order there for to go, you will be waiting your whole life for your food LOL. No worries, thats what I get for not ordering ahead. The staff seemed very nice to me. I ordered the sushi 13 piece deal with cali roll(seriously who eats cali rolls anymore) Now im confused, when I hear toro im thinking of Toro toro, not Salmon toro or Yellowtail toro and some other fish toro. She asked me which one, im like WTF, um just toro LOL. I thought there was only one!?! So I guess Hamachi toro lol. I also ordered salmon skin roll. All this for about 30 bucks. Got home it was a lot of food, im happy about that because I was starving!!! The food was good, since it was the 13 piece combo, I had a chance to try different things, all was good and fresh but not buttery fresh. I still didn’t understand the whole hamachi toro thing, I tried it and it was no different to me than regular yellowtail LOL I would come back here to try their Izakaya menu but I better not feel like im here waiting my whole life for the food if I actually do sit down dinner there.

I’m new to Sushi of Naples. The only reason I came here was because my favorite Sushi Chef for the last 6 – 7 years moved to this place. Following him here, I was happy to find the place was a lot nicer and had a lot more bar seating. It’s nestled right by the Naples Plaza area. The staff is very friendly and the fish is unbelievably fresh. I mean a live moving sea urchin fresh! I don’t know about any of the other Chefs there, as Noby is my guy. He’s super creative and comes up with some of the best dishes. As long as I have been going to him, I’ve never had to order anything. it’s all up to him and so far, I’ve never been disappointed. Shout outs to Noby!
