This Rite Aide is super convenient from where I live. Plus I am going to a pharmacy/convenience store. Not whole foods, I am not expecting their selection to mind read my needs. I usually walk here but honestly I would drive here if I had to in order to avoid the chaos that is the Walgreen’s a couple blocks down, next to the bus stop and McDonalds.

This location has its share of trials and tribulations given its downtown location. It has been my local pharmacy/ice cream shop for 12 years. For most of those years I have expected little and received less but I’m writing because that has changed. Over the past 18 months service has exceeded my expectations. I think manager Joe is to credit. The buck stops with him and he’s service minded. I now very much appreciate my neighborhood drugstore!

Asked about about a black TY stuffed animal and the guy at actually picked up the phone did not even bother to ask or look. He just said don’t have that and that was it. Horrible service!

Not the cleanest or most logical organization wise BUT it’s a block away so I don’t mind! Usually walk over for whatever odds and ends I need. The staff is really friendly, they have good sales on vitamins and pregnancy tests lol, and who could forget world famous thriftys ice cream! Beware though, the later you go the stranger the crowd :)

This location is alright. Its location is convenient but I’ve been in much nicer Riteaids. The employees have for the most part been friendly and quick. My main complaint is that the Western Union station never has a been or forms.

I live fairly close to this Rite Aid. It’s clean and conveniently stocked. Always great sales going on. The cashiers are always very friendly too and very helpful when you are looking for something in particular.

I’m not sure where else you can get a 40oz bottle of whisky and an old school Thrifty’s ice cream cone, but whenever I need them, Rite Aid’s the spot. Rite Aid has everything you need. Great deals on liquor, but it’s a little expensive-y on everything else. And the colorful homeless outside add local Long Beach charm.

Opens early and stats open late. It’s my quick stopfor necessities. They have a vast assortment of gift cards for last minute bday gifts and chocolate malted crunch, one of the best flavors of ice cream around! They could use more checkers when it gets busy. Get their card and save. Don’t forget to bring your own bags as they’re ten cents a pop in Long Beach now.

I’m a beauty addict. I love buying makeup. Of course I can’t pop over to the MAC counter while I’m on my lunch break, but I can go over to Rite Aid. Unfortunately, this Rite Aid is one of the worst I’ve been to. When I was a kid we would go to this store when it was Thrifty’s and get ice cream for 10 cents a scoop. This was back in the 80’s mind you. I bought my first makeup at this store: Revlon lipstick, Cutex nail polish, Aziza eyeshadow… sigh… so this place has a certain nostalgia for me. But now that it’s become a Rite Aid… pbbbt. Sucks. The selection is bad. They run out of sale items all the time, and the service! The worst! Apathetic, lazy, rude… they will curse in front of the customers as they chit-chat with each other. I now skip over two blocks east to Walgreens.

This place is a good place. Three stars is good. It’s within walking distance and is a true«convenience store» definition. It has had what I needed regardless of what that was. I’ve been here a few times and from my last visit felt compelled to write a review. I like the staff. The place beats going to Wal-Mart and dealing with the abysmal lines and counter service.

I’ve been fortunate enough to find what I’m looking for when I go. That’s why I gave two stars. My qualms lie within the staff at this location, however. I haven’t stepped foot into this Rite Aid for over a year, and it’s all because of one cashier that I just don’t want to deal with. Hell, she might not even work there anymore, but the fact that I had two ordeals with her on separate occasions is enough for me to dedicate my loyalty to Walgreens, or even expensive-as-heck Sav-On(the three within walking distance of my abode). The first incident was when I happened to be purchasing a box of tampons(yes, the details are important). I was carrying a Tampax multi-pack to the counter, and this cashier looks at the item and then at me, as though I’m some kind of imbecile. «These are separate, you know,» she says. I shook my head, and replied, «No, they’re not. There’s _one_UPC code. The three boxes are for separate sizes.» She insists she has to charge me three times for them, and I tell her again that it’s _one_item. Then she realizes what I’m saying and finally says, «Oh.» Alright, I’m willing to let that pass. The second time was for — yeah, another personal item — a pregnancy test. These aren’t like condoms, where you can at least pretend you’re the luckiest person in the world because you’re gonna get jiggy with it. Nobody wants to be seen purchasing a pregnancy test. I just wanted to get in and out of there as fast as I could. Guess who’s at the register again? She takes a look at the box and before scanning it, she blurts out, «Is this for you?!» I was appalled. At this point I don’t even think making up some story or saying it was for a friend would matter. Mind your freaking business, for crying out loud! I couldn’t believe it. I don’t even remember how I responded… but I do know that I was at the Rite Aid on Broadway a few months later, ranting about the stupid cashier, when at this store one of the employees overheard me. She asked, «Are you talking about the one on Pine? Yeah, my brother manages that store.» She knew exactly who I was talking about, throwing out the description without my help. «He’s had lots of complaints about [that girl].» So I guess maybe she doesn’t work there anymore. I wouldn’t know. I don’t want to find out.
