We came in around 10am Monday morning after biking around shoreline drive and the only employee there was about to close. We were about to leave but the guy said if we’re willing to wait 10 mins he needs to catch up with cleaning and stuff cos one employee called out and the other was a no show.(Poor guy he looked tired already). So we were hungry and stayed. We got some ham, cheese and egg croissants and bacon, cheese and egg croissants. It was HUGE! and super yummy. They have all sorts of selections too like breakfast burritos, bagels and donuts. It’s a all day breakfast place and I definitely will come back for more croissants.

PUBLICSERVICEANNOUNCEMENT: So the reality of the situation at hand is that Le Croissant is a LBC Belmont Shore STAPLE. But a few months ago it was sold to a group of young guys that simply don’t know what they are doing. In the past it was being managed by a group of very nice, lovable individuals that provided the second st. locals with fresh donuts, croissants and warm coffee. Now, present day, is being managed by some people that frankly are slowly running this place into the ground. The coffee is cold, the donuts are old and at times non existent because they are simply not being made quick enough for the demand or just not being made at all. Also, the debit card system is a hassle for staff and any customer involved. The worst part of the ownership change is the service. There is a young girl that provides lovely service but in turn management is not providing her with enough tools(donuts) to follow through with her niceness.(I mean being nice is chill but if I came to get donuts and you don’t have any, wth are we doing here?) The guy that looks like the manager(Asian dude with a beard) looks like a kid lost in the grocery store that often times put his hands up and say idk what the heck I’m doing, get a free donut– you’ll pay it back next time, right? And then the guy that made me write this review… The white bald dude(honestly, word of advice if he’s inside– don’t go inside) he is rude, unprofessional, unhygienic(doesn’t even wear gloves and constantly puts his hand over his noise to hide the drip) and he is simply not cut out to be in the food industry or customer service in general. Man cmon you’re rude to an old lady that asks you to warm her coffee up(that should have been warm in the first place) because it’s too cold?! Man she should have just gone to Starbucks and I should have too because now I just spent a few minutes of my life writing this review in hopes that people don’t have to go through this again. Consider this a public service announcement. THE2nd St donut shop is now nothing but a headache and a sour place to get a sweet treat or not even a treat at all.

The doughnuts are amazing! And, to top it off, the owner is such a nice guy. So glad that we have shops like this and can support a local business. Highly recommend stopping by to try their doughnuts, coffee or egg breakfast items.

I tried maple caramel(?) and chocolate with custard. They open 24 hours: of course, have good service, and clean. I thought the new owner was very friendly and professional. I’d definitely go back there:) thank you guys and keep it up.

I jus love coming to this place, the owner Jimmy, makes you feel welcome every time. I see some of the drunks come in after the bars close and he is very patient with them. Donuts are fresh and delish, and the croissants are delicious as well.

This place is open 24 hours and is located near multiple bars! I’ve been here a bunch of times after the bars and the turkey croissant sandwiches never disappoint! Probably the best I’ve had! Always get extra pickles on the side!

So this donut place is pretty chill. It is in the Long Beach/Belmont Shores area for those that live in the LB area and know where that is at … AWESOMEPOSSUM. But even if you do not know where that is it, you can still like this place like i do ’cause i am not in the LB area but i have a few friends who do live there. The places are not bad for donuts and there are also croissant sandwiches … i am getting hungry just thinking about it again! hehe … The awesome thing is this donut place is 24 hours. =) When one of my good family friends and I went, we made sure to go when Jimmy(the cool Asian guy) was working. He usually works night shifts(after 10pm. sometimes it varies). He is freakin’ awesome! He rocks. IF you go, say HI to Jimmy of course and tell him your boy Truman sent ya! ;-) Mind you not everyone will agree on donuts and croissants being the best, but i have to admit finding this place was one of the best things i did. Plus talking to Jimmy is fun. He shares some pretty interesting stories and he has been there for while! =) The chocolate custard donut is pretty awesome if you like custard and i love the apple fritter donut. ;)

Best. Donuts. Ever. ‘Nuff said. And the girl who’s always working when I stumble in after a few to me — she’s the best!

It’s pretty obvious by the name of this place what it is they sell. It’s not gourmet but it’s a decent sugar rush when you need it. Reminds of the Tim Horton’s back in Vancouver in terms of quality and chain store feel. This isn’t a bad thing. The prices are really cheap and the portions are good. This is open 24 hours which means that there is no rush to hit this place up.

Lots of choices, besides donuts! They have fountain soda, score!!, and cooler drinks! I had the bagel breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! It was actually so large I has trouble finishing it! The donuts were super fresh and they have those huge cups for a «large» drink! Yummy. The only issue is it take 10 minutes to get breakfast burritos and sandwiches. Just make sure you have time.

The best croissants in Long Beach. Period. They also have great donuts and you can buy donut holes for 10 cents each.

I absolutely adore this place. Really great food and relatively inexpensive. I love their baked good but have recently been ordering their breakfast burritos and bagel sandwiches. So good! And at around $ 3-$ 5 you are a steal! Can’t complain! Store front is plain and its cash only but I find myself here almost everyday for coffee and little breakfast trip! Come here for a no frill breakfast/treat and good coffee!

+1 star for being open 24 hours +1 star for being in Belmont Shore +1 star for tasty donut holes I came here at 5AM to pick up a dozen donuts and some donut holes for a potluck. I also picked up a breakfast croissant for myself. The croissant was overpriced at almost $ 5. It was very greasy and not crunchy. I was not a fan of it. The donut holes were a hit and were all eaten up very quickly. I had one and I thought that they were tasty, nothing above and beyond amazing, but nonetheless delicious. The dozen donuts were not finished though. I asked for a mixed dozen and they had well over a dozen different kinds of donuts, yet they gave me repeats of odd flavors such as coconut and something with crumb topping. I didn’t notice what flavors were being picked as the box was being packed up, so I didn’t say anything. I think they might have given me leftover donuts that didn’t sell from the night before because my friend told me that her donut tasted a little stale. Advice for you: be sure to pick your own dozen or else you may get stuck with odd flavors that no one wants.

I don’t understand why everyone is being so critical. It’s a donut shop… It’s clean, never crowded, and has an awesome donut selection. I’ve been in here a few times. Each time the interaction with the employee and my dessert choice is excellent. The Cronuts here are delicious! The woman behind the counter even offered to heat it up for me(which I recommend always saying yes to!).

The first time I came here i was drunk leaving a bar down the road. I ordered a apple fritter and it was AMAZING my friend got 2 sausage, egg and cheese croissants. After taking one bit, he only had one because I stole the other it was so good. Thinking it was probably the alcohol making it this good, I tried it again sober, not quite as mind blowing but really good. The man(I think he owns it as he is always working when I am there) is friendly and nice. Onetime he even added a free plain doughnut and it was better than I expected. Great variety of drink selections They take cash or card, I can’t say if there is a 5 $ limit or not cause I always spend more than that.

I visited this location before work to pick up donuts for co-workers and a butter croissant for me. The service was good, but I’m not difficult. I just asked for a dozen donuts — variety and a butter croissant. I don’t like donuts, so I can’t say how they tasted, but my co-workers didn’t complain. My butter croissant was good, fluffy, and was fairly large. The person who got my donuts went to the back and got me the freshest ones. So… yay! They accept card or cash.
