Went in there @ 8:30 which is half an hour before closing, only to be told u can only order enchiladas off of the menu because the STOVE was off. I understand 5 or even 10 minutes before closing but 30?! Come on.

Lady is a little rude, But their tacos are good! I haven’t tried anything else but their tacos. My husband ordered a torta and it fell apart, not good. I will definitely go back just for tacos.

For all who do not check your receipt, Chile Verde advertise there hard shell tacos for $ 1.29 each but when ordering you are actually charged $ 1.99. I had kindly asked are the hard shell tacos $ 1.29, the lady replied no they are $ 1.99, so she calls someone and disrespectfully talks in spanish, which she should be carefull you think a person is not spanish, but hey lady I am latina and I do speak spanish. anyhow the response back was that the shredded beef are $ 1.99 and the chicken and beef are $ 1.29. What is advertise on their windows are hard shell tacos for$ 1.29. No where on the advertising or inside the resturant does it SPECIFY only chicken or beef. False advertising and stealing from customers isnt cool! Even tho if its pennys on the dollar.

The location is right next to Long Beach Memorial. It’s a place to go to if you’re in a hurry for lunch and need quick to go food. No line and barely any customers. I ordered a chicken avocado salad and Carne asada burrito to go. They have a salsa bar with mild and hot salsa, lemons and jalapeños. 10 mins later, I received my food and went to work. I discovered that the waitress gave me a chicken tostada instead of my salad, but it was too late. The chicken tostada and burrito were ok. The chicken was grilled and placed on top of lettuce and a tostada. There was avocado, salsa and cheese around the tostada. Nothing exciting here. The burrito had 3 things inside: Carne asada, rice and beans. I had to drown it in salsa for flavor. I wouldnt consider either item tasty or worthwhile. Come only if you’re desperate! Otherwise, find something better!

The three stars are for the great service, however, the food was painfully average. I had a wet ground beef burrito, and the meat probably stewed in its fat all day. I could not even taste the red sauce on it. How this place is a regional chain leaves me puzzled.

If you’re vegan, hungry, and in West Long Beach, there are not a lot of options for you. Sometimes when I’m in a pinch, I stop by Chile Verde to get a meal of a side of rice+beans(ask for no cheese), a side of tortillas, and a side of guacamole. It’s nothing to write home about but it’s filling. FYI: the beans are lard free and the guacamole is made from real avocados.

What in the world am I eating? The chips were stale and my bean and ground beef burrito was dripping with grease! I took one bite and then threw it away, the beef tasted like what I would imagine Alpo would taste like. How in the heck does this place get more than 1 star is beyond me, Oh lordy I hope I don’t get sick! «Adiós Felicia!» Random Fact: The tortilla was first made in Chihuahua, where the wheat grows the best

Neighborhood sweet spot! Went in for the first time after neighbor brought chicken tacos from Chile Verde to a potluck — tasty! Ordered a wet chicken burrito and since I couldn’t decide, Evelyn(forgive me if I remembered it wrong) suggested half red, half green. Great idea! In these days of eye-rolling, disinterested types at most food counters, it was so nice that this young lady actually smiled, listened AND offered a modicum of customer service. What-the-WHAT? My burrito was tasty and heaped with chicken and their salsas are good and spicy. I’ll be back.

I’ll make it short. They had a shrimp burrito special and I love shrimp so naturally I ordered it. My burrito was FILLED with rice and had 6 pieces of shrimp in it. YES… I counted… when I told the cashier she spoke with the cook and he advised only 6 shrimp per burrito and gave me two more as a nice gesture. No… I won’t go back.

This place is great and the food is delicious. I would hate to be the cashier though too many rude free loaders and cheap people who either want their money back after eating all their food, or make up lies to get free food. lol

If I could give negative stars, I would! I love their chicken tortilla soup, but this location is the worse, when serving it! I got my soup to go, when I got home(3min drive) it was ice cold! Literally had to boil it to heat it up! And they forgot the cheese! Definitely staying away from this location!(No wonder it’s always empty!

They use to have a $ 1 taquito special with guac and sour cream, they don’t anymore. I went for their $ 6 we burrito special comes comes with chips and drink. It was as the kids say, «what evs.» I’m not a we burrito fan(i had the chicken) their sauce is one of the reasons. it was lacking flavor. Sorry you can’t call salty pepper tomato sauce flavor, perhaps it was canned? this place is ok if you’re waiting for the bus or just came from the bank or just looking for something while your in the parking lot. I wouldn’t drive out of my way for this place. The place itself is clean, and service is fine. They do have free refills on orange bang and horchata bang I guess that’s a deal considering i don’t know of any other places that serve it in the area. the have a nice little salsa bar with jalapeño peppers as well. For better Mexican food for similar pricing. Patricias, Hole mole, and Baja Señora. Even El Torito for lunch buffet but it’s a sit down. All of these are adjacent within minutes of each other in the area.

This is amazing«Gringo friendly» Mexican fast food!!! (Gringo friendly, old school ground beef and shredded chicken like Del Taco or Taco Bell but this place is WAYBETTER!) Want to be FULLFULLFULL? Order the wet burrito special on the window(Just under $ 6 with a drink and chips) Fried Tacos with Chicken or beef are cheep, filling and really good. Haven’t had much else on their menu, but trust me that if you stick to these basics you are going to be really happy at this place. This place has Orange Bang in a self serve fountain, this stuff is great but beware the sugar crash in the afternoon! Oh yeah, the staff is awesome here too very friendly and they always get your order right even if you order crazy!

Update: As you can see by my check ins here, I go here a lot. It’s really close to my house, and I’ve learned what to order. Don’t get the special, it’s cheaper to order the same thing on the special, just order it a la carte. Decent food, and I’ve grown to like it. Chile Verde is ok in a pinch. I’ve had better, and it seems a little pricey. Pricey in that you could go to a proper Mexican restaurant, sit down and be served for pretty much the same price. Not horrible, but I’ve for sure had better.

The nachos are sick! Beans. Fresh. Chips. Fresh. Cheese. Well, cheese. I literally gobbled down every last chip. While I recognize it’s hard to screw up nachos(think about the ingredients – all great and taste great together), I also reward extra achievement in the category. The verdict: What’s taking you so long to get to Chile Verde? Mmm. These will be on my crave-o-meter for good.

Plus 1 — it’s close to work. Walking distance in fact. Plus 1 — It’s not quite fast food and they serve the breakfast items all day. Otherwise, though the food was made to order, it lacked an oomph as far as flavor goes. I ordered the Machaca and eggs which came with beans and rice. It was just okay after I dropped some hot sauce on. As it’s close to work and fairly inexpensive, I may try it again to see if another dish does give me a warm feeling inside because today’s lunch experience surely didn’t.

i dont know if its just me or if every restaurant i go to in Long Beach sucks. First it was mc donalds, jack in the box, and now this place. As i was about to enter carls jr i quickly noticed behind me a «grand opening» sign for Chili Verde. Being that i’ve never eaten there before i decided to give it a shot since i was tired of eating fast food. Upon walking in i was greeted nicely by the guy behind the counter. the place was clean and it wasnt busy at all. The lady in front of me orderd a burrito so i decided to order on too. I ordered the carnitas burrito wet which came out to about 7 dollars and it was one of the worst burritos i have ever had. The enchilada sauce was bland and the meat wasnt tasteful at all. I didnt taste any marinate or seasoning on the meat. The sign outside says they dont use any MSG or lard and i believe them after taking my first bite. I’d rather have MSG and lard in my burrito if its gonna make it taste better. Lastly, the burrito was full of beans. I barely got any meat. The beans tasted like any ordinary beans and the burrito also consisted of rice. i am never gonna try this place again. I’d be more content eating at baja fresh or king taco. Atleast i know if i go there and spend 7 ill be getting good food.
