Great pizza, but the worst delivery service in the world. It was over 2hrs before I got my food and it was cold! Note to owner– get extra delivery drivers

I’m from New York originally, and this is good pizza! Just about as close to authentic NY Style thin crust as it gets around here. The homemade sausage was delicious as well.

Awesome Pizza I ordered the Hawaiian Canadian Bacon slice! My dad order a salad and a cheese slice of Pizza as an appetizer his Salad which I also had a taste of! Yummy dressing and croutons! Their Pizza was so delicious so reminded me of my old home Pizza restaurant chain which won best Pizza beating Italy in a Pizza contest, Pizza My Heart based in Santa Cruz:) Hint if their Pizza cheese which is already delicious was little more moist then this Pizza Restaurant would beat Pizza My Heart in my opinion for being a better Pizza than the Santa Cruz one!:) Their Pizza and they also offer subs sandwiches are prepped so to my local Pizza My Heart! All in all so delicious and I will definitely bring my mom here:)

Burnt our entire 22″ pizza. They look and feel like an NY pizzeria but why would you burn and entire pizza and give it to someone?

We came in for lunch for pizza and a draft beer. Unfortunately they had no draft beer! This was disappointing however this was our first time here and the pizza did not disappoint it was thin crunchy and chewy just like I like it! If they keep the beer on tap I just know I will be back since I live so close and it is cheap good food!

The 2016 Unilocal500, Review #064: This place gets four, not five stars, for being like other most of the places here and closing too early. Flavor of this pizza is top notch!

This is a solid reliable pizzaria by the slice. They have some pre-made pizzas of various varieties with assorted toppings to choose from. A gourmet slice(one with toppings) costs $ 3.25, and if you get the lunch special, it’s 2 slices and a soda for $ 8(i.e. buy 2 slices and get the soda for $ 1.50 with unlimited refills). They put the pre-made slices in the oven for a few minutes to heat them up, so they’re not cooked fresh to order, unless you’re lucky and have the right timing to get a pie out of the oven to carve a slice out of. I’d speculate if you purchased a full pizza, cooked to order the pizza would be leaps and bounds better, ‘tho the pizza by the slice is still tasty and has the right crust density(not too thick nor cracker thin) and a single slice is actually filling for a normal person. Parking in the area is as tough as 2nd Street can be, easy and hard depending on luck, karma and timing. It’s a nice area to stroll. I’d recommend 2nd Street Pizzeria as a good place to get lunch for under $ 5 and under 5 minutes, it’s quick, convenient and affordable.

There are quite a few options for pizza on 2nd — including the ever so delicious ground pepperoni at Domenico’s, shrimp pizza at Papalucci’s, margherita pizza at Simmzy’s, etc. However, 2nd St. Pizzeria is here for you when you are craving a quick 1 – 2 slices. For only about $ 3 per slice, which is pretty sizable actually,(or $ 5 for one slice and a beer — can’t go wrong with that), this makes for a quick and convenient meal. However, the pizza is incredibly mediocre. I’ve tried the white pizza and the pepperoni and sausage. The white pizza has ricotta on it that tasted really strange, so I just took that off. And, it was a really dry pizza — it tasted more like cheese bread; I’m not actually sure if there was sauce on it. The pepperoni and sausage was decent, but a little too salty. But, the pizza was hot and crispy — which of course is always a plus! It gets pretty hot in there, I’m not sure if there is AC, so beware! +1 star for location, +1 star for convenience, +1 for price.

Came in at an off time, staff was super cool and wanted to hook us up. A NY slice of pizza and a beer for $ 5 you can’t go wrong. We also got a calzone that was delicious. I will for sure come back and recommend it to anyone one in the area. This is for sure a gem. P. S. The door screeches louder than nails on a chalk board. But the food and beer is still worth it.

Food Poisoning. Went here at 9 pm and grabbed a couple sandwiches. Mine tasted fine but my wife’s tasted off. She woke up at 4 in the morning with food poisoning followed by myself at 8 am. Poisoning was the worse I and my wife have ever had. Lasted 2 days. We were supposed to leave at 5 am on a trip to Yosemite for 5 days but the trip was cancelled. They overcharged me too. Won’t be going back here.

Formerly Upper Crust, this is our go-to spot when we don’t want the frou-frou pizza of Micahel’s. The white pizza is as good as the best in New York and this is the only pizza place where their sausage is not only good but great(I hate that ground pizza sausage everywhere else). We also are big fans of their chicken parm and sausage parm sandwiches. Once upon a time we even ordered and enjoyed the pasta. This place is a gem all around.

The quality has gone down, I don’t know if they’ve changed owners or what, but it isn’t as good as it used to be. Garlic knots were dry. Penne was soggy, and had a strange tangy taste, not sure what that was about. Pizza was cold.

Speaking as a New York transplant, born into a successful Italian restaurant business in NY that have been in business for over 60 years, this is hands down some of not only the best pizza, but Italian food for the price in all of SoCal. From the sauce to the meatballs to the copious amounts of meat in their Stromboli and Calzones, to their baked ziti and other pastas… I’d recommend this before most fine dining Italian restaurants that wouldn’t know Italian-American food if it hit them square in the head.
