My husband and I stayed at The Riter Mansion last night. We try to go to a new place for a night every 6 months, but I think this is one that we’ll have to visit way more than that. We stayed in the Parlor room, which is huge. We were able to relax and feel at home, but still on vacation. The Inn is beautiful and the owners are very helpful and inviting. Beautiful place to stay and not too expensive. On the top of my list!

My wife and I stayed here for a night. I travel a bit so I have become a bit unstitutionalized so I was At first concerned. By the time the quiet elegance had completely relaxed me and the amazing breakfast had awakened me I was wishing for a couple more nights.

I love this place. I stay here for business travel about 5 or 6 times a year. It does more reception center business than bed and breakfast, which is just fine for me. John and Arlette the owners, are gracious hosts and attentive when they should be. For a work space, the desk situations in the rooms aren’t great, but I tend to sprawl out on the bed even in Marriots with great workspace. For breakfast I alternate between the tomato and mushroom omelettes– really good, really fresh. They are very accomodating to my requests for chai tea and soy milk. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious and I love the creakiness of old mansions. They have older TV’s and pretty limited cable, but I usually am working and listening to music on my ipad vs. watching the boob tube. It’s a nice change of pace from Marriott and Hampton Inn– no points toward a hotel stay, but I like to patronize local businesses when I have the opportunity. Check it ou.
