G5 Salon

Second time at G5. Really happy to have found an affordable, nice salon in the area. The salon is clean and staff professional. I had a simple style done to my hair but was happy my curls lasted through the day.

I came in to have an updo done for my friend’s wedding. She was having her bridal updo done and the 4 bridesmaids had our done here as well.
I had Jordan who was fantastic! I have extensions and she did a phenomenal job making sure everything looked great. My hair felt comfortable, it lasted all day (about 16 hours) and was not a pain to take down at the end of the night. She was great about listening to what I wanted and making sure I looked great for the wedding :)

Love G5. My second visit to T.A. was as fantastic as the first. Highly recommend. And prices are very reasonable.

I have jumped around with different stylists & salons over the last 10 years. I have very thick, slightly frizzy hair so it’s hard to find someone who does my hair right. A friend recommended TA to me about a year ago. I started seeing TA & I’ve been getting compliments ever since! He really gets my hair, does stunning work & gives great hair advice. Lovely salon & pleasant experience.

Nina is all around awesome! I’ve had cut, color, and extensions by her & have never been disappointed.

We recently moved out to this area and I needed to find a new salon to get my hair done. I made an appointment to get a cut, and color/​highlight refresh. I saw Minh and I knew right off the bat it was going to be a good experience. He listened to what I was looking for, made some suggestions and went to work. He is very personable while he is working and kept me laughing. I really like that. When it was all said and done I loved my refreshed look and will be back in 6 weeks to let him work his magic again!

Incredibly disappointing. Went to Minn for a cut and color. Medium brown to blonde with grey highlights. Walked out with medium brown hair and no highlights. I hate looking for a new salon but I had no choice as I’ve recently moved here from out of state and was trying to fix a bad cut from another salon in the area in November. This was a huge waste of time and money.

This is my first time at the salon. My hairstylist was Melba. I haven’t had my hair highlighted in over two years so I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. Melba listened to what my concerns about having a more gentle hair product in highlighting my hair. I felt very comfortable with her recommendations. My hair came out beautiful! I love the color and it has definitely lit up my face. You wouldn’t believe how many compliments I have gotten. Thank you Melba. I did want to mention one important thing. They only take cash tips. I completely forgot about this even after reading the reviews for this salon. But no worries there was a Wegman’s right around the corner. I was able to get cash and come back and give Melba her tip. Thanks again Melba!

Aliene (if I spelled that wrong… SO sorry!!) is phenomenal! She totally gets me and my need for dramatic hair. She helped me find just the right color and style that perfectly fits my personality. It took me two years to find a salon that I love when I moved to the area, but I’ve been going to this salon for the past three years and never ONCE had a bad experience. Everyone is friendly, the salon is spotless and the atmosphere is very chill.

I have been going to Tonya for awhile and have loved my hair every time. But, I recently brought both my daughters to her to fix the hair cuts they got somewhere else. She did a great job fixing their cuts and my girls loved her.

Loved the ombré in my hair! (: the only reason I give it less than 5 stars is because they charged me for curling my hair… And never asked me or told me about it. A previous time I went, the stylist used a color corrector to up charge me from a single color/​cut. They need to give heads up before incorporating services that charge so much! Also, you can’t leave a tip on the card so bring cash.

If you want your color done right, go to Melba! I decided to get my hair done silver/​platinum a few months ago and she is the only person that has gotten the color perfectly, especially when doing root touch-​ups. Her time management and customer service skills are impeccable, and I always leave the salon feeling happily excited about both the color and the style.

For years, I have been going to see Bahar for my highlights. She is one of the few hairdressers that you can trust to consistently provide excellent highlights. Bahar is a very good listener and makes sure that she is on the same page as you are before cutting your hair. I am always happy with her services. Thank you Bahar!

I love love love Sonia!
Having naturally curly hair, it has always been hard to find someone who knows my pain. Sonia has this gorgeous curly mane, which is beautiful just like she is.
I no longer have to worry about having to search high and low or bounce from salon to salon to find the most awesomeness hairstylist! When I started going to Sonia, my hair barely touched my shoulders. Now, it’s to the bottom of my shoulder blades and very healthy. I love my highlights and overall color. I book every month with her and every month I get tons of compliments on my hair. I owe my gorgeous hair to Sonia. By the way, you can’t put a price on how I feel and look after I leave the salon each and every time I go.
Thank you Sonia for always taking care of me… inside and out! Love you bunches!

Anna Song did an amazing job styling my hair for my wedding. Sounds silly, but few stylists in my life have understood «asian hair» and the poor job my hair does in holding curls. All of the trial appointments were direct, to the point, and she listened to what I wanted while giving suggestions on how to make it a reality (aka — reality check). Within the first 20 minutes of first appointment, I quickly committed to having Anna do my hair and the bridal party as well.
She is easy to work with, does excellent work, is responsive to calls/​text, was on-​time and stayed on schedule during my big day. I continue to see her regularly.

Melba dyed my hair perfectly, I love it so much! I was super nervous about trusting someone with completely changing my hair color, but I found out that Melba had done silver hair before and I decided to take the plunge. It turned out better than I could ever have asked for! Highly recommended, really chill environment, friendly staff, the whole nine yards!

I hate looking for new salons, but life changes throughout the years have forced me to have to do so. Most recently, since just moving to the boondocks in Loudoun, I had to find someplace closer to my new home. And I have.
Thank you Anna, for fixing my color and highlighting my roots! The cut was *just enough* to make it more healthy, but she saved me from cutting off too much. I LOVE IT!

Fantastic salon!
My first time in the salon and Anna cut my hair. I was so scared to have my haircut by someone new and unknown, I am currently visiting from Germany, that I was asking strangers on the street for advice on where to go. But I finally got desperate and luckily I found Anna. She has over 15 years of experience; was extremely calm and friendly; and gave me a better haircut than the one I got in Germany. I think I will come back every time that I am in town to visit family.

I am one of those people that are super nervous when it comes to haircuts. So when I moved to NOVA I spent weeks searching for a decent salon that wouldn’t break the bank (under $ 60). I also have naturally curly hair so I wouldn’t take just anyone.
I called G5 and told them I had curly hair and wanted someone who knows how to cut curly hair and he without missing a beat said Sonia.
Thank goodness for G5 salon and Sonia! She is by far the best hair stylist I’ve had. She is knowledgeable and respectful when it comes to hair. Never cuts more than you ask and even shows you how much to make sure. She has curly hair which is a plus!
The hair cut itself is more than worth the $ 45 dollars. She is very even and precise. She takes time to make sure my hair is completely even when she does my layers. She also does a great job blow drying my hair into waves and remembers how I like it each time. I feel so relaxed knowing she will make it look great! If you have curly hair and want a stylist that listens to you, I highly recommend Sonia!

Had a terrible experience with exactly NO customer service that resulted in an even worse haircut. Sent an email and the manager called 2 days later to process a refund. No apology, just «she’s having some personal issues.» I totally get it and appreciate the fast refund (she also offered to fix it, but I declined based on the experience I had just had) but will not be back and will not recommend to others.
