My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. There’s little to no wait for your food to come out. The drinks are strong and the food is as authentic as it can get.

Normally this would be 4 star review… That said, I think I’m finished with El Real. I’ve been a loyal customer since they opened, eating lunch at El Real twice a week for years, sometimes more. I live and work around the corner and it is convenient and tasty. The food is good but the service has fallen off. I’m not sure if they expect me to be more understanding because I’m a regular but leaving me to sit without so much as a water or chips and salsa for 20+ minutes multiple times is not ok for any customer… it is as if I am invisible the handful of times it has happened and as much of their food I’ve eaten, I’m hard to miss. I expect normal levels of service and to be ignored isn’t ok. It really is top bad, they have amazing chicken tortilla soup and frozen margaritas. I will get my fix elsewhere going forward.

Mosey on down to the BEST Mexican food I’ve had in Ga in 20 years! Saddle up with fresh quacamole-made to order with freshly cooked tortilla chips. Rope in the tomatillo sauce as its good on EVERYTHING-and ride away with a great experience when you have Luis as your server! He is a pleasure to be around and took perfect care of us. Get your pig on with an El Pastor taco-piggy perfection, and if you crave heat-dump the side of habanero sauce on it and prepare to have your toes curled! Seriously, the Cadillac margarita on the rocks is the perfect background to some of the most authentic, best tasting Mexican food in this area. I lived in San Diego-home of gourmet Mexican food-and this rivals that. In the land of Taco Bell and On The Boarder-this is a refreshing change-it’s flavor town in L’ville!

Decent drinks and good food. One downside is we’ve been turned down several times with the OPEN sign still on. They do not follow the hours advertised online or on their front door. If the manager wants to start closing early they need to change the hours that are advertised. I’ll probably return because it’s so close to where I live.

The food was only marginal. I ordered the guacamole to be made fresh at the table. This is my favorite Mexican dish, but they don’t actually make it at your table. I have mine made with extra cilantro, extra lime and no jalapeño. It came to the table already made, and with so much jalapeño I couldn’t eat it. If you order this dish, make sure it’s made at your table, or make sure your server knows how you want it prepared.

Dined here on recommendation of my brother. We stopped to visit him and the family on the way back home from Florida and he took us here. If you’re ever in Buford/Lawrenceville GA(where the Mall of Georgia is located) you have to try this place. The margaritas are fantastic and so is the food. The service was a bit slow. We had a late dinner(8-ish) but the place was busy. My brother commented that usually the service is pretty quick. We had a party of nine so maybe that slowed them down a bit. I had the Camaron Poblano Asada, a poblano pepper stuffed with cheese and shrimp, wrapped in a thin steak. It was huge and at first I didn’t think I was going to eat it all, but it was so delicious I ate the whole thing. I had grilled zucchini and squash on the side, and it was well cooked, not mushy. Absolutely will make my brother take me back here next time we visit. My brother loves the Hector Special, a grilled chicken breast topped with cheese, ham and mushrooms with a side of fried plantains. You don’t see fried plantains on the menus of many Mexican restaurants.

Food is awesome and margaritas are strong and they run specials on them as well! Server was attentive and everyone was friendly and food came out fast. I had the carne Asada tacos the steak was very tender!:)

The place started ok, has devolved to a place that is ok if you live close by and just want a quick pickup. Usually over salted and a little oily(both things I like in the tight proportions), they are consistently just ok. Better than Monterey down the road, worse than Jalapeños a couple miles east and Del Rio a few miles north.

I am not a fan of Mexican food. My hubby loves it though. However, El Real is one of the only mex places my husband will suggest that doesn’t make me inwardly groan. The rice actually has flavor. The tamales we not dry and bland and the kidd love it here.

One of my work favorites! This place is yummy and typical fare of your Mex-American food. The staff has always been awesome. We also had a work outing for trivia night here and that was super fun as well. The questions are pretty easy and mostly geared to the older crowded aka 1970s babies. My bf and I ordered a margarita with one of those upside down mini Coronas. Whoa, they do not skip on the alcohol! Delicious food, fun atmosphere and great lunch menu.

I no longer eat here because the service is inconsistent. On two separate occasions I asked for the made in front of you guacamole and the attending server acted quite disinterested in making it. On another occasion I waited for fifteen minutes to get another drink order filled. I finally got fed up with the service. The food is terrific, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t want to eat somewhere where the service frustrates me. So I haven’t been back.

Not nearly as good as when it first opened. I enjoy a Mexican chicken soup and the one here is really bad. Everything else is just underwhelming. Go to Taqueria Los Hermanos instead.

Decent service, the live entertainment is right in your face. The food is not your standard Mexican fare, it goes deeper that the standard border menu.

The servers here are really good and patient. And the chips and salsa are good. But the food is really plain. I got a enchilida and a tostada. Really Taco bell wouldve been better. The enchilida sauce tasted like plain tomato soup on top. And the tostado jus tasted like lettuce. Prices are too expensive for what you get.

I have been a customer for at least 2 years, I am glad to say how amazing the staff and management is, Rosa is a trooper she is the manager and is always helping the staff out, the other manager is also great I don’t remember his name! They get busy all the time, but they always make sure you have a great experience and I love it here, the food is beyond AMAZING and I will continue to come and enjoy a warm and great meal at el real…

Their food is hands down awesome. Me, my boyfriend, and our roommate love it. They really love the butrito bravo and usually order it every time. I like to vary it up a little more and have never been disappointed. Their cheese dip is creamy and they give you good portions for the money. Will be visiting again soon.

We made our first visit today. I ordered a grilled steak, al pastor(marinated pork) and pibil(shredded pork) tacos and gave them all a perfect 5. My wife ordered the chicken fajitas and gave it only a 3 since it was a generic. The service was phenomenal. Our server, Anna, went above and beyond to be sure we were satisfied. Even the hostess made trips to our table to be sure we were happy. They have a larger draft beer selection than what is listed on the menu. We will be eager to go back for the service and tacos. Update: We were back this afternoon(11/01/2015). Our waitress, Marina, was very nice. She was worried about our to-go tacos getting soggy so she offered to give us some extra tortillas to bring home.

Delicious food, great service and trivia nights on Wednesday is so much fun! Really enjoyed our visit and will return. Oh and the jumbo margarita really made my day…
