Nice and friendly service for home-cooked food. The food is good enough, but sometimes can taste a bit salty.

My wife, two-year-old son, and I stopped in for dinner tonight, and enjoyed it. The food was good, not exceptional, but the owner is absolutely wonderful. I really enjoyed the chicken pumpkin soup, and the pineapple ginger drink. We shared the jerk chicken and the curry goat; both were good, but the jerk could have gone up a couple of degrees for us. Peas and rice were good, plantains were sweet(which I like), and the corn medley was awesome. I also liked her Jamaican Rum cake. The Montego Grill was formerly located in Buford, and she just re-opened 8 months ago. Dinner and services warrants a revisit; I’d love to see this place succeed and grow.

It’s the best fresh food. Must try the pumpkin chicken soup its to die for, I have gone back over and over again. … I recommend these dishes 1. The red snapper with rice and peas and plantains and steamed cabbage. 2. The stew chicken is delicious very tender also with rice and peas and the corn medley. 3. The oxtails are to die for the meat is tender falling off the bone very refreshing to eat and also the jerk chicken just enough spice the taste of Jamaica all in one place I continue to go back there friendly service and the chef is truly from Jamaica I recommend it and give it 5 stars. You won’t be disappointed. It’s not a fast food place so they take their time to cook your food I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Not bad, just not exceptionally good. Nothing memorable, but worth stopping in. Patties were ok, oxtail ok, but not up to the standard of other places in striking distance. This is the kind of food you eat once a month or so and is worth a few minutes of drive time to get the best available The owner was surprisingly not particularly friendly(she was the only one there on a Sunday night). Tried to engage her on a personal(just friendly) level but was rebuffed, which is a shame, since this is close to my house and would be a nice place to stop in occasionally, even though the food is just average. I prefer to patronize local spots when possible

Food is exquisite! I’ve had the pumpkin soup, curry chicken, stew chicken and the fish. I’ve yet to be disappointed. The pineapple ginger dink is the shit!

I’m glad I decided to stop. The food was delicious, the cook and server was so sweet, and the place was nice, clean, and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. And I’ll be back.

Great authentic Jamaican cuisine! Best jerk chicken I’ve ever eaten! Prices very reasonable. Owner is from Jamaica. We will definitely make it a place we frequent.

I’m going to have to be the negative Nancy here and say that I was not that impressed by this restaurant. I went there a few weeks ago and ordered the jerk chicken meal with rice and peas and fruit as my sides. I also wanted to order a couple of patties; she was out of them at the time but gave me frozen ones. Frozen patties really take away some of the authenticity for me. Besides the patties, the meal itself was strictly OK. The rice and peas and fruit were good, but the jerk chicken was very disappointing. I read the reviews and was so excited to have some nice and spicy food. However, it was bland. Terribly bland. No kick to it at all. Jerk chicken should be making you grab the closest beverage and chug it down. Taco Bell’s sauce packets provide more flavor and spice than the seasoning that was used on the chicken. The owner and cook is really very sweet, but I cannot say I am a fan of this restaurant. Maybe other items on the menu were good, but I wasn’t impressed enough to give it another try. There are much better places in the area like Country Pepper.

Excellent food. Real taste of Jamaica. I had the curry goat and it was seasoned perfect and my boyfriend had the jerk chicken. The owner even gives out complimentary pumpkin soup which we wanted more of lol. The coco bread and beef patties are also great. When we left she even gave us free coconut cookies. Lovely place and friendly service! We will be back this week again lol the only thing I would change is the portion size… I would like a little more than just 5 little pieces of goat And a scoop of rice and veggies for 12.99

Back for more. I ordered one of their the lunch special which is the Jamaican curry chicken comes with 2 sides and plantains. Chicken was fall off the bones, cooked to perfection. The plantains were sweet not soggy or oily at all. You can tell Owner/chef puts love in her cooking. Will be back again.

This place has the best Jamaican food in Lawrenceviile. There are other places that serve the same food but their offerings are heavily salted. Ms. Elaine the«owner» seasons her food to perfection.(PS She is soooo sweet) True authentic flavor and so yummy! We have been back three times this past week already. Have tried it all. Everything rocks here. She is having an official grand opening on Friday 6⁄19 and is turning the menu to buffet style service.(Awesome!) I believe she said $ 9.99 and drinks included. OMG I’m there! :-)

Awesome food! Owner is a very nice lady who cooks well and was very attentive as our waiter. We had the jerk chicken which was really really good. For dessert we had the carrot cake which she said was organic. It was very tasty. She makes everything fresh so ask her what she has that day. Give this place a try like we did, you’ll love the food!
