The Dog House

This is my favorite dog place in town. They have really captured the taste of a Real Chicago Hot Dog and they use Vienna Beef Dogs. Family owned business and they are super friendly. Love it here.

My wife and I was visiting Starved Rock. We turned to Unilocal for help to find a place to eat around there and The Dog House came up. I am so glad it did. When I saw it I told my wife we have to try it.
You get there and it does not look like much. But the staff was friendly, the hot dogs were delicious, and the prices were good as well. They have many different kinds of hot dogs that it is hard to choose. However, they do have a deal that lets you pick 2 dogs.
I would definitely come here again next time I am in the area.

For the LaSalle-​Peru area this place really surprised me. Offering over 25 different «city dog» variations, each hot dog styled for a US city, there are many options at the Dog House. Althought I had originally intended to stick to the an original Chicago Style hot dog, I took a chance and ordered their Los Angeles city dog. I lucked out, as the Los Angeles dog was one of the better hot dog styles, I’ve had in a long time. A deep fried dog, the Los Angeles, is topped with ketchup, mustard, mayo, peppers, and bacon — and the mix works, very well. For a cheap $ 5, the LA hot dog, came with a large helping of crinkle-​cut fries and a can of soda, a real deal for the quality of the meal. I would definitely recommend the Dog House, and plan to head back sometime to sample some of their many other city dogs.

If you are in the mood for a dog — this place is amazing! Small shop with a large menu featuring hot dogs with various toppings — each named for different cities across the country. Of course, I had to try the Chicago Dog first — one of the best Chicago Dogs I have ever had! Right up there with what you get at the ball park! My hubby had the Westport with sauerkraut, mustard, relish and crumbled bacon~ dee-​lish! Make it a meal with fries and a soda for only $ 5 (includes tax). The menu includes polish sausage, burgers and other sandwiches. I know I will be back to try out more!!! Friendly service and great food at a great price ~ highly recommended!
