This place can be easily missed as its in a tiny strip mall. We drove by and decided to check it out. I was hesitant once we entered and found the place nearly empty on a Sunday evening. Sure, it’s nice to not have to wait for a table, but why is nobody else here? You can sit at the sushi bar or the big tables for teppanyaki. We opted for the entertainment, so we sat at the big table. The staff was very attentive, maybe too much. There was a man and woman waiting on us in tandem and they clearly didn’t communicate. No biggie. Our chef was super entertaining! All the same old tricks we’ve seen at other places, but still fun. catching things in his hat, volcano smoke out of the onion, etc. I oered scallops and filet. I asked for my filet to be rare plus, it was more like medium :-(why is everyone afraid to leave the meat a tad bloody? Other than that, everything was pretty decent. Sushi I fresh and delish. We ordered noodles, which was almost $ 5 extra! And I was disappointed when everyone received rice but me. not sure why.

Had the New York steak entrée. Both the meat and vegetables were salty. So we’re the two dipping sauces.

Fun place. The cook was so nice and put on a nice little show for us. Food was superb. It’s a little pricey, even with the coupon I had. Will come here for an occasional treat with the family. Nice area and right by my house. Glad to have it in my neighborhood.

I went there last week and it was not Good like previous times I been there before. So we went on a Wednesday night and I asked the waiter about their sushi menu. I have never had their sushi… I ask about the shrimp Tempura roll he kind of explained it to me, I then asked for a menu to see what I wanted… I couldn’t make a decision so at this time they bring out our soup and salad appetizers which my soup was lukewarm and my son’s and husband’s were boiling hot… No problem I switched with my son. Our salads came out and when I say I had three pieces of lettuce and a half bowl of ginger sauce… Believe me so I ask the waiter in a joking serious way soooo you guys cut back on the salad he said oh yeah it’s just an appetizer… Oh okay but my meal is $ 28.00… Then look what arrived a shrimp tempura roll I DIDNOTORDER that yet… I told him I didn’t order this he looked at me like well he made it… I look at the sushi bar and the guy was staring at me so I kept it. I told him next time I will send it back… My husband kept saying send it back if you don’t want it. The chef was a nice guy and cooked the food so-so he seem like he couldn’t wait to get off so he could hit the club… hey we live in Las Vegas… I don’t think I will be back any time soon I was very disappointed… There quality really went down… I had liked them wayyy over the Benihana here in town…

Hokkaido Teppanyaki Steakhouse is the answer to, «Where should I dine with children in Las Vegas?» Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine in which food is cooked directly in front of guests on a hot iron plate. We arrived at 5:00PM at opening time. With two tired children, I hoped this would be an option perfect for a family meal time. Jason, our Teppanyaki Chef, was our answer to a delicious dinner and entertainment. He had is sense of humor as one tool, a smile and his array of teppanyaki utensils. The children were immediately engaged by knife skills, the dynamic preparation of vegetables, scallops, lobster tail, shrimp, steak for grilling, and a refined act of food presentation. In addition, we selected yakisoba(fried noodles) and rice. The entire experience was enjoyable from cooking, plating and eating. From the moment we arrived, the attention to service was considerate and efficient. Throughout the evening, the staff kept drinks full, plates cleared from the table, and children’s hashi in hand. Overall, we felt a positive atmosphere. I observed another family at an adjacent table, the chef ensured food allergies were observed. He was polite and carefully prepared the Foods with consideration of gluten free soy sauce and seafood like shrimp. Wish list: Use of organic ingredients including rice, meats, and soy sauce. Check to see if there’s a changing table in restroom.

This is a very nice location and a good-looking restaurant. I enjoyed being spoiled with reservations at this hibachi/teppanyaki restaurant. Our server was enjoyable during the preparation. He made jokes, juggled knives, and tossed shrimp into patron’s mouths that willingly took on the challenge. All of the food was tasty. I ordered the filet and lobster, which came with fried rice, two shrimp, and miso soup. Everything was prepared as expected. The meal was enjoyable. Two downsides: First, the water softener they use does a self-cleaning of the line once a day. Apparently, the wait staff doesn’t know when that will happen on a daily basis — strange. So, it happened prior to our meal. My water was cloudy and my iced tea tasted like salty dishwater. The waitress acted like this was no big deal. Secondly, the meal overall is rather pricey for what you get. Honestly, I could go to a Brazilian steakhouse and have five times the amount of choice meats in an amazing atmosphere for the same price. This means that I must come to teppanyaki for the entertainment while eating. Yeah, that’s it. Unfortunately, that makes this restaurant a once a year adventure.

We have come here the last 7 years for Father’s Day. We are always seated right away and the staff has always been attentive to our order. The food is very good prepared on the flat top which has given our family a great experience.

I ordered sushi and a glass of wine. Delicious wine. Okay sushi, not spectacular. Very fresh but not very flavorful. I am happy I tried it but probably won’t be back.

Reservations recommended, especially on Mother’s Day! Four of us enjoyed good service, typical show with juggling knives by teppanyaki chef making corny jokes, good tasting lobster/filet mignon/NY steak/chicken/shrimp/veggies/fried rice/miso soup/Japanese salad and side of Rainbow Roll. All food was cooked to order/perfection, nice restaurant décor, friendly staff especially the hostess who doubled as a waitress. Over priced for a little bit of food, as typical for this type of meal; but it was a special occasion this Mother’s Day so we tried this place and have no regrets!

This was a great find. Staff was friendly and attentive, food was excellent. Jason was an entertaining and fun cook to prepare our table side dinner. We had 2 five year olds who enjoyed the whole experience. Memorable evening for my parents wedding anniversary.

Believe it or not this is my first time trying hibachi/teppanyaki style dining. I always thought it would provide bland food amidst an entertaining show. Unsurprisingly, some of it was bland, but the fried rice, shrimp and the experience were awesome! Teppanyaki Entrée for 2: New York Steak & Shrimp, side salad, fried rice & vegetables $ 28.99 — This meal was prepared table-side with an intimate hibachi show for my fiancé and ME. Starting off with a knife act, dramatic flames, onion volcano, onion choo choo train(so cute!), egg crack trick, fried rice heart(sweet), and a few other entertaining chef skills. Our shy chef was pretty quiet the entire show and didn’t talk too much, but he warmed up to us and by the end of the night we were laughing about the scene from Beverly Hills Ninja when Chris Farley was a Hibachi Chef in the movie. So good! And too funny! Now, let’s talk about the teppanyaki! * The Egg Fried Rice was really tasty! We asked for extra garlic and I loved the crispy bits of garlic and crunchy rice texture from the grill. Flavor rating: 4⁄5 * The New York steak was cooked exactly how we requested it(rare) — it had nice flavor but it’s not extraordinary. Just a solid steak if you’re in the mood. Flavor rating: 3⁄5 * The Vegetables: squash, mushrooms, and bean sprouts added nice texture to the meal. Flavor rating: 3⁄5 * The Shrimp was so good! It’s cooked in a creamy sauce with amazing flavor and it’s super succulent! I would order all shrimp if I can next time! Flavor rating: 5⁄5 We also ordered some appetizers and a sushi roll from the sushi menu: * Miso Soup — it was mediocre. I’ve had better miso soup in my day. Flavor rating: 2⁄5 * Baked Mussels $ 5.50 — the mussels were not saucy and too dry for my liking. Flavor rating: 2⁄5 * Soft Shell Crab $ 7.50 — the crab was breaded perfectly with a light panko breading and fried just right, extremely flavorful and crispy. Flavor rating: 5⁄5 * Sweet Heart Roll $ 11.99 — shrimp tempura, cucumber, spicy crab, eel, avocado. An extremely simple roll, but it’s tasty. Flavor rating: 3⁄5 We had a great experience with top notch service. I would definitely recommend coming by specifically for a teppanyaki entrée and a fun hibachi show!

Very tasty. A bit pricey but you are paying for the experience. There are a few spots better in LA n SD so i cannot compare the spot to any other vegas spot since i haven’t been anywhere else there. We did have to wait a while for our chef guy to show up he was friendly but not as enthusiastic as i would like. He was a kinder older man with Miyagi qualities. I’d go again but wasn’t super impressed. 3.5

For starters, Soft shell crab, spicy tuna and Gyoza. Fried rice, New York steak, and Chicken all cooked on a hibachi grill by the talented Daniel son. Fresh food, great taste and you are able to share portions. overall good experience. I shall return…

The chefs are really fun and friendly. There’s lots of silly jokes and knife tricks to keep you entertained. You also get a free salad and soup with your meal. They are very accommodating to people with shellfish allergies because they made my chicken and rice first before everyone else’s. We come here about 3 times a year since it opened. Highly recommend it!

We came to Hokkaido after we couldn’t get a table at Ohjah. It was refreshing to be seated right away because I was starving! It may sound shallow but that’s one of the reasons why I like Summerlin there are like 3 hibachi places in close proximity. Our chef was fun… he was more fun after we gave him a couple shots of sake. LOL The food was awesome! Everything was done like a typical habachi show. The difference that I liked was on the shrimp he put what resembled Mayo and Siracha. It was tasty! I also had some flavored sake but was willing to try this children’s soda they have there. It looked intriguing on how you open it. I think you have to push a metal ball down the top in order to open it. I know you must think I’m easily intrigued… I am sometimes. We had the tempura ice cream to finish our meal. It was a wonderful ending to a fulfilling meal! The atmosphere isn’t as rowdy as some hibachi places. It’s a nice relaxing time where you don’t have to yell to carry on a conversation.
