For a brewery their beer is disappointing and sub par. I tried three different beers and found all to taste off. I believe they may have some serious contamination in their brewing process(further evidenced by the fact the place smelled like a hotel pool as I walked in the door) and need to get a professional consultant into the establishment to help. The food was similar to what you’d find at a local bowling alley in both quality and taste. The atmosphere and location of the bar are both good. Pool tables, pinball machines, and dart boards make for good bar fun. The price of the beer and food is cheap by brewery standards, but the quality of product you receive for the price is not good. For all of the microbreweries and bars around Lakewood currently, your money and time are best spent elsewhere.

Just a quick update — increase from 2 to 3 stars because the explanation of the disappointing product does make sense and clearly the brewery cares. I have not been back but will give it a try the next time I am in town.

I stopped by here after a long day of shopping. I was impressed by how big the place was, and the many fun things to do(pool, video games). They even had a large band. The service was generally prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was chill and definitely had a hometown vibe. I had the small sampler which consisted of 9 sampler cups of their beer. They had a broad range of styles. It was a great deal at $ 11. My favorites were the Hop Killa and Cherries and Chocolate. I had a cup of green chili with my beer which was warm and had a nice, slight kick. It was a fun place to go, and I would definitely consider coming back in the future.

180 degrees from what I picture when I think brew pub. Exactly what I picture when I think old drunk hangout. The beer I selected was good but I wouldn’t consider eating there. I hate to dis a local Brewer but I won’t be returning.

I hate to do this to a place I have had some fun, but the service is just terrible. It seems they only have one server/bartender per night, which is not adequate if you value customers at all. They have a male server with a beard who is downright hostile. He seems visibly angry while«serving» people. You actually feel bad ordering anything because you feel you are putting him out. Should be 1 star now, but gave 2 for better memories and better past service. Will not be back.

Love that place, as they make one of my favorite beers in town! It’s sadly one of a very few places that open late night, so it’s perfect to drop by late for a fresh ale before bed. My top fav is the Hop Killa, which is one of the best ales I’ve had and I really really enjoy it. The second best is the Alameda Amber which is really good as well. The beers are always served in cold glasses, full all the way up… PERFECT! I wouldn’t do it better myself! It’s always cozy at the Works, the staff is super friendly and know your name and me and the wife really enjoy paying a weekly visit.

Beer is good. Food appears to come from Sam’s club/Costco. 3 star review is 4 star beer and 2 star food. This is really a dive bar(they have full bar including macro beer) that happens to brew its own beer. But if you’d like to enjoy a pint away from the hipster hype of other greater Denver locales then give this place a try.

So disappointed! Walked in with a friend around 9pm. Stood at bar for about 5 minutes with absolutely no employees in sight. Friends walked out to find all of the employees smoking. Asked if they were serving and we were totally ignored. Sign said they were open and it was early. We had not been drinking and were completely polite. Surprised how such a local place would treat customers. After that we walked out while employees just continued to smoke in front. Hopefully this was a fluke and not how business is run there. Plenty of other breweries and bars to go to.

Well I hate to down on local brew pubs, but this is not on my list to visit again. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty slow with just a few tables taken. The bartender and staff didn’t seem to interested in being helpful — I guess I shouldn’t have asked them if I could pay full price for the tasters and not have to taste the IPAs which I never like.(what can I say, I’m just not into hoppy). Anyway, the food was so-so and no one seemed to care that we stopped in. I wasn’t expecting a «Cheers» greeting or anything, just standard friendly service — which we didn’t really get. I can say I’ve been — and now on to the next.

17 years since I came in last. Décor about the same. I like wheat beers, so I tried a pint of Agave Wheat 5.0. Nothing to rave about. Price at 330 pm was decent: $ 3.50. Back in the day, they brewed Hooch. No more since they have full bar license. I’ll come back again. Hope food is better.

Not a bunch of places to hang out in Lakewood. We like this place considering the limited choices around the area. I really like the green chili. Pretzel was typical, nothing special. Beer was good. Honey had both IPAs and I had the red. We played both pinball machines and had fun with that. Amber was a superb barter and took care of the whole bar by herself. We’ll be back to play the games, drink beer, eat green chili and hang.

Food was great. Had karaōke which was awesome. Kinda dead for a Friday night… Drinks were definitely worth it at a decent price. Would go back

It’s a dumpy dive bar not a brewery even though they do brew some of their own beers.

Neighborhood dive, house brews are nothing special, smells like they haven’t changed the carpet since you could smoke.

This place was alright. Def seems like a local dive bar. Food was ok, beer selection was alright… If you are looking for a place to drink, play pool and watch sports this is a good spot.

This is a great«dive bar» hidden in Green Moutain. As if there could really be a dive bar in this part of Lakewood… They brew their own beer which really isn’t bad, but then they serve Coors and Bud right next to it, as if they don’t have confidence in their own beer. But better than the beer, was the service! Amber was the barkeep, and she was so friendly even to us first timers. Always had a smile on her face, and a friendly word while maintaining the crowded bar and the sparsely occupied seating area. She took time to briefly chat us up and get to know us. Which is more than I can say for other bars in the area. We weren’t there in time for food, but Amber showed us the menu and it didn’t look like anything special, just your typical frozen and fried food. But for the cheap beer and friendly service, I’ll be back.

Part brewery, part dive bar, part … motorcycle lounge? It was definitely a weird place, but the wife and I really enjoyed our visit. The staff were very friendly, the prices were right, and the beer was really good. In all, it was a great little place to spend a date night drinking beer and playing Rummy 500.

I didn’t think Lakewood could have a «local dive» but I was wrong. Ironworks reminds me so much of the sports bars in my college days that I had to pinch myself to make sure I was, in fact, no longer in college. That being said, here’s the run-down… The staff was friendly enough, especially given that we were«outsiders.» The beer was fine. Nothing to write home about. Pretty sad that they brew their own beer yet still serve buckets of Coors Light for big games(e.g., Sunday football). Sigh… again, see comment about college sports bar above. Food is mediocre at best. Lots of frozen-fried snacks(the usual suspects… mozz sticks, poppers, fries, rings) and greasy burgers. I don’t plan on returning, but I’m glad to see that Lakewood has created it’s own local watering hole :-)

This brewery’s atmosphere is much more like a sleazy bar. The beer was good, but not groundbreaking. Their food was terrible.
