When Vanilla Bean closed several years ago I was devastated. Words could not express the period of mourning I went into. I went through bakery after bakery trying to find someone who could get close to the buttercream goodness that only they could perfect. Not to mention the fudge fancies that are just utter perfection. Then one day, which I will never forget, a kind soul told me that Vanilla Bean had been resurrected in the form of Lake George Baking Company and since then, my world has been changed. The fudge fancies are just as I remembered — little cookies that are pillows of heaven topped with a chocolate fudgey goodness — perfectly sweet and delicious. And the buttercream… no one will ever beat this buttercream… others have tried, but no one can do it. If you have an issue with very sweet buttercreams, this is not for you. But, if you truly appreciate buttercream, you know it should be the sweetest, creamiest delight to have, and then you will love this buttercream. They have other treats there too, and they do great cake decorating, but honestly those are just added bonuses… the fudge fancies will be enough to get you hooked.

Dutch Apple Pie, Fruit of the Forest pie, brownies, cookies, cheese danish and a Cherry Melt-a-Way are what we bought today for a 4th of July BBQ. Everything is fantastic. Friendly workers, clean place, small outdoor area with Adirondack furniture to sit in all spells a winner. So glad this bakery is here. If you’re a pie lover, you’ve found heaven. They have cakes and tiramisu too!
